- Following the Metropolitan Touch the story continues and at Aunt Agatha's request, Bertie is helping out with family matters.
And of the twins.....
"To me the outlook seems black and scaly. You know what those two lads are!"
"Very high spirited gentleman, sir."
"Blisters, Jeeves. Undeniable blisters"
First published in The Strand Magazine in London in 1922, and later that year in Cosmopolitan in New York.
I do hope that anyone landing on this channel is utterly comfortable with the notion that none of the original text has been modified or sanitised with the rather fuzzy idea of avoiding offence or protection from outdated ideas. Sadly, this is exactly the stated aim of the publishers of future editions of PGW’s work - and other authors. Boycott and buy a used book could be a win for the wise. - Развлечения
WONDERFUL to have you here with us again ! 🤗✨🙌✨🙌✨🙌✨👍🏼❤️❤️❤️
Hello, missed you a lot!
Oh joy! To me Nick you are the best Jeeves & Wooster! Your characterisation of these iconic characters are second to none! Every night I listen over and over again so it’s amazing when I randomly switch on and there’s something new from you. Thank you sir xx
AGREEEEEEEE😊
Best…narrator…ever!
His Aunt Agatha deserves an Oscar. 🤣
Tricky Nick reads Wodehouse! There is nothing I love more…
Well hello Tricky. So happy to see you again. Time for 40 winks and you'll help that along nicely. The good thing about that is I can listen to you over and over xxx😂😘
Thank you for giving us another Jeeves story Nick! I listen to them often.
Oh my!! I can’t wait to listen with my gentleman. He will be soooo delighted!! Thank you for another fantastic story❤
Absolutely hilarious, 😂spontaneous laughter doesn't happen much these days thank you.

A win for the wise indeed. Top job again Mr Martin!
🎉Never fails to put a smile on my face ~
I say Nick old thing, these stories that I have just discovered, make my night! 👍😂 Your narration is laugh out loud perfect!
My heart leaped with joy !
I am so glad i stumbled upon these fantastic stories by P G Wodehouse. Bertie Wooster and his valet, Jeeves never fail to make me laugh outloud close to continuously in every story. For some idiotic reason, i had always thought Wodehouse wrote science fiction, which i used to enjoy very much but not anymore- for about the last 20 years. Anyway, ive been going through a great loss for over a year now, and thank God for PG Wodehouse! His stories are hilarious and when listening, my uncontrolled laughter is very goid medicine for my grieving soul. ❤💔 ❤
What a treat, much appreciated
Hurrah! A new one from Nicky! Our favourite man. Look forward to bedtime tonight. ❤
You are a pure joy .
As usual, one hell of a performance. Takes a great artist to make great art greater.
Oh, Thank You. I check every night to see if you’ve added another story. My favorite PG Wodehouse narrator!
Very welcome, I look forward to listening to this and listen to all of your other readings, more than I dare mention. Thank you very much.
Nick my dear I'm relieved to hear from you! It's been too long. Of all the many chs I sub, you & Matthew Jones, aka MJam from London, are the only ones I set for notifications. (I've been saving this one until I could give it the full attn it deserves. A special treat what!) I know you are a very busy chap but the long wait is agony. 😊 As I've said for yrs it baffles the addled that you are not mega famous! We all feel special to be in your audience...BEST PGWs since the days of masters like Richard Briers! ✔👏👍😍 TYSM luv! 😉
Great read Nicky can’t wait for your next work thanks so much !
Innocuous as a couple of sprightly young tarantulas!
Brilliant narrator
Wonderful Thank you very much
Love these "topping" stories! Jeeves there is a place for you in my home and heart!
Oh, that we could all be able to consult Jeeves, there's no snafu that he can't sort out! Thank you for another delightful reading, Mr. Martin. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. All the best!
Thank you Nick, great work as usual
🎉🥳🥳🥳 Hurray! Another Wodehouse read by Trickynicky! Thank you 😊
Bravo!!
what a vivid comic amusing voice ,it’s the best ever for P.G stories. Thank you ❤
Poor Bertie, as ever. I begin to believe that he should be nominated for canonisation. How he deals with his ghastly family is quite an example to us lesser mortals. Thank you so much for reading this for us.😊
Jeeves deserves a raise 😊
Please cancel all other activities and make it a full time job making these recordings.
One per week seems about right. Fabulous.
So amazing! ❤❤❤ The best book reading ❤️❤️❤️
yay!!! It's been a long wait. Thank you!!!
One of my all time favorite stories!! Thank you....
My dearest Lord “M”! I’m over the moon to see your new posting - my apologies for arriving late; I need to review my settings! Many thanks from one of your devoted fans! Carry on Jeeves! Cheers and best wishes, julie
Listened to this again and it's still a great funny story. Thanks.
So thrilling to log on and find a new one from you Tricky!
Please add a link for donations to your channel, would be nice to thank you with more than just words and support your channel❤
Not heard this one before and it was fab ol man, don't you know.
I, for one, will never buy a sanitized book. Are people suddenly now so sensitive that they can’t understand writers of yesteryear were living in a different culture? It’s like those who say they would have acted differently to the way people in the past reacted to slavery, the oppression of women or the nazis. No, they wouldn’t have.
How is what they are doing to some of our greatest classics legal or allowed?! I've been repeatedly stunned by such news! In fact the first time or two I just knew it had to be fake news. 😤😢
@@TedaR Sadly, it’s not fake news. At least they’re going to keep printing the original classics. This woke nonsense is social contagion.
@@lizparker8431 I know. . But that's enough of that..the nonsense is not allowed to invade this, our happy place 😁
@@TedaR 👍
Are they no longer called "abridged" books? Is "sanitized" the new term? As long as they're clearly labeled as such, and the originals are still available; abridged versions of books have been around for decades.
Amazing as always! Thank you❤
Very funny, beautifully read. You keep introducing me to P G Wodehouse short stories that I have never come across before!
Enjoyed!
Most excellent. Nick Martin is the bee's knees! I have to admit though that it's a veritable double edged sword sort of thing though. I have become a Wooster & Jeeves addict I fear. It's all a tad rummy!
CAT'S WHISKERS?
I always buy used books ! Very few new editions of books I like are available in our bookshops ,such as they are.
American here ... love the accent, of course. Got a sub from me.
Goodo Jeeves.
Want Jeeves' pick me up recipe! And Jeeves to go with it what!
7:35 '...Special cigarettes...?'
Just special expensive I think.
👏👏👏
If this is ACTUALLY YOU and not, as I had supposed a recording of someone else, then I wish I'd found you during lockdown! You are AMAZING and perfect. Also, your brother's shop...Is it the products purchased for the Cotswolds/Welsh home of Charles and Camilla? I saw a documentary where those traditional weaves were a huge favourite and they bought quite a few for their home? ❤
❤❤😊
Its C not E not cnote
I love Claude and Eustace stories!!!
“He’ll manage!”
“RaTHER!”
Also, betting on the parson’s sermons!😂😂😂
