- Here's some video I shot of the Midwest Central Railroad during the 2009 Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This video features 0-4-0T steam locomotive #16, seen at various locations along the line in different parts of the grounds, during the first three days of the Reunion. Number 16 is a tank engine built in Germany in 1951, and is the only coal-burner on the MCRR. Due to engine #6's absence, #16 was filling in, pulling regular passenger trains almost the entire time. I like to call this engine "Percy" since it looks so much like Percy in Thomas the Tank Engine. Even though he's small, he can still pull quite a load!

That is a cool engine and great place to visit 👍- from Hamilton Ohio
I knew I couldn't be the only person to call this engine Percy.
@CaptainKrimson The coal bunker is actually the box on the left side of the boiler. I've seen them refill it at the MCRR north station. The box on the right side of the boiler holds the water. I believe the small tanks under the footplate are air (for the brakes).
I have ridden behind Flagg Coal #75. Actually in the cab. I don't know why I wrote that.
@EverywhereWest Thank you for the quick response. I didn't think of that possibility.
What does the SW stand for on #16
at 0:47 you can see the lid to the coal hopper
The coal buncker is toward the back on the left side both sides do hold water
If Percy is burning coal, where is the coal stored and what do the tanks under the floorplate hold? Are you sure it is not burning oil?
To me it looks more like thomas considering they're both side tank engines. i still enjoy this engine no matter what its called though.
