    You got to bare in mind that if in a rare occassion an incident happens liking being a risk, it would be unfortunate if no one could contact emergency lines and/or family.
    Maybe there is more to Yondr that may have already considered that and I also understand why they would like to do this.
    Many of us are addicted to our phones, even suffering from text neck.
    So I certainly see the benefits, but I think there has got to be a more efficient way of doing this.

    I think forcing people to do this is not cool. There are so many situatuins where someone would need their phone. Family emergencies where someone needs to get ahold of the person or an emergency where they need to call for help. To me this is a safegy issue when we force people to do it. Though, we should be encouraging people to use their own self discipline to keep their phones put away in their bag or pocket when it's appropriate to do so.

    I just heard about these and immediately wondered about how (or if) they are sanitised. Cell phones are extremely germy. I assume that the venues that employ Yondr pouches reuse them rather than simply giving them away, so I would hope that they would make some effort to sanitise them. However, a quick Google search on how to clean Yondr pouches came up with nothing instructive, so it appears that no one else is concerned about this.

    • @mathman30
      @mathman30 8 лет назад +5

      I agree accept that I think if it became standard policy to kick you out of the venue for phone use, some "adults" even would voluntarily lock their phone in the case rather than risk that accidental 'I can't help myself moment' and be removed from the show. Studies show that phone use mirrors the same brain patterns seen in alcoholics, drug addicts, and sex addicts. In other words yes we are "adults" but a "responsible adult" might be willing to admit and accept a little help dealing with the limitations of their brain chemistry.

Disconnect and play more campaign games or local multiplayer on old games. Anyways let’s go back to the 90s & early 00s, where society wasn’t always focused on what’s on Facebook & iPhones & social media... I can’t believe kids nowadays are getting access to smartphones & RUclipsrs like Logan Paul. I mean kids like 10 can have RUclips on a laptop but ya know monitor their time on it. Idk the 2010s has greatly gotten worse and we need to really make a effort back to the good years of the 90s & early 00s (minus of course terrorized events). With the way things are with active shooters this is very uncomfortable. I am not saying it is a bad idea. I am just saying that if this had been implemented at a nightclub there a mass shooting event happened, what would be the effect? Would emergency services have been called? Would more people have died? There would have been several dying individuals who did not get that opportunity to call their mother and leave a goodbye message.

If you see a student with their phone out, don’t you feel confident addressing them directly, and reminding them of your rules and expectations? Locking up property to control your students doesn’t teach them self-control. It just makes you seem authoritarian.

    My only issue with this is that I love taking pictures during concerts. And I mosh and headbang most of the time, so its not like I'm in my device the whole time. I've just gotten really good at taking great pics really quickly. So concerts using this (like Danzig recently announced for misfits reunion shows) is irritating to me.

    • @hannahloesch4597
      @hannahloesch4597 6 лет назад +7

      The exact point of the pouches are to prevent people taking pictures. The rules at venues state that pictures aren't allowed, video isn't allowed, etc. Just staying that you "take great pics really quickly" defeats the point of no pictures at all. Just enjoy the show in real life!

    • @resevil2396
      @resevil2396 6 лет назад +2

      I do enjoy the show in real life. More than most, I'd argue, due to the moshing and whatnot. Or at least I get into it more. I don't understand why people think this is mutually exclusive, just because you sometimes get idiots standing there recording the whole show. Also not all venues say you can't take pics. In fact I'd say thats a minority of them, at least as far as the small and medium sized venues I usually go to. even the bigger ones, usually no one cares as long as you aren't recording the whole thing or bringing professional equipment.

Hell I can't even go to the movies with out seeing half the audience tweeting, or on Facebook and the bright screen hurting my eyes. At Concerts and shows, people whip out their phones and watch the show from their screens instead of actually watching the show. this is stupid. everyone keep saying - "what if there is an emergency?" The staff/security still have their cells. 911 doesnt need 1000 people calling them & blocking the lines for other emergencies.
    society didnt make you dependent on technology - you did. I know alot of people that can live without being attached to their phones/computers. It is YOUR CHOICE! Stop blaming others.
    How come alot of business' can tell their staff - no phones allowed on premise - but schools cant? This is whats happening - these kids are being catered to & are expecting that when they become adults!
    I lived before cell phones - Im not sure how - but I did. So -it shows that EVERYONE can live without it in their hands 24/7
