Thank you so much! I looked everywhere and couldnt find any info on if you should mirror one side and not the other, so thank you! I've only done one so far and it didn't occur to me until i was about to press the 2nd side. Well, the first one was for me anyway since I figured it was going to be my practice one.
Thank you for the tutorial and the heat settings. I bought the same exact blanks from Amazon. And using the settings they turned out amazing. Also the tip on mirroring only 1 side was spot on. 😊
I was wondering. After you took the plastic off the wind spinner did you clean it with anything before you put the picture on it? Some do and they use rubbing alcohol and run a lint brush over it. So I do that but it comes out terrible. Also, I am using heat resistant tape and it puts the tape marks on the spinner.. What should I do?
I do use rubbing alcohol and sometimes i see smear marks from the alcohol drying. I would suggest to use a micro fiber cloth to remove the lint, essentially that is what u don't want on your finished product as the lint turns into blue specs (weird i know). Unsure which heat resistant tape you are using, but if it's leaving a mark, maybe your pressure is too firm or try using different tape? What i try to do is put the tape on 1/4 inch of the product and the rest on the paper, then flip to press. just don't give up. It does take a bit to get the hang of it, but it's so rewarding when you do :) hope this helps. :)
Thank you! These are 8 inch Wind Spinners and i think i used a 11x17 size paper to print 2 images on one paper, but i'm sure you can print on a 8.5 x 11 sheet. There are other size Wind Spinners available too, if this size is too big. :)
I actually use Silhouette Studio. They have a free version and a paid version. I have their paid version, which at the time of purchase is a one time fee for the use of their system, not like design space. You can print your design in Canva, Design Space, where ever you'd like, but subject to the size you need, might have some hiccups. Hope this helps.
When I sublimated the second side of an ornament...it faded on the pressed side where I put the tape and then pressed...does this happen on your first pressed side? What tape do you use? Thank you!
I typically lose a bit of the image when i press the other side, but not to a point that its faded. i do know once i tried to press both sides at the same time and the heat didn't reach the other side (side facing the heat pad) to activate the sublimation ink enough to give a full image impression, so it gave it a faded look. If you are pressing one side, flipping it and then pressing the other side, the fading on the initial pressed side (facing the heat pad), could be due to more heat exposure (maybe it didn't cool down enough to heat the other side) or it could be that the ink isn't sublimation ink? I would suggest to let the pressed side cool down before doing the other side and see if that helps with the fading. Only two scenarios i could think of that could possible trigger a faded press after pressing it. The tape i use is a Heat ResistanceTape, here is the link from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F8TZZ4N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hope this helps.
Sorry for any confusion. You want to mirror only one side so that when you open the spinner to fan with the wind the images line up vs the sides are opposite in direction. Hopefully that helps. :)

My question you mirror the second side I was confused

@@kashellcreations a lot of people don't do this, but with my OCD - I say mirror only ONE side - looks much nicer! Thank you for the video!
@@kashellcreations If you have any text on the spinner, you have to mirror both sides or the writing will be backwards on one side.
