Yes I am not feeding the beast either. No promoted closet, no live shows, no silent shows, no hosting parties… as every other seller must do I am deciding what to do next because PM is not what it used to be.
I’m not in the program and my closet has been invisible this month. I’m a small closet with 250 listings. I’ve had 4 sales this month and usually have 25 - 30. Also, no engagement after sharing my closet with followers or to parties. The only thing in my newsfeed daily, are notifications for live shows and about 10 new assigned followers/ day.
Same for me, unfortunately. Closet is close to 900 items. Very few sales. Very few shares from other closets. Not many followers. News feed has blown up with notices about live sales and silent shows. 🤬
The live show notifications are definitely getting out of control. I also read that for the live sellers because of these notifications they are losing so many followers. Just doesnt seem good on any front.
Thanks for taking one for the team! Appreciate the promoted closet breakdown. After being a seller on ebay for the past year, Poshmark's lack of transparency and analytics is incredibly frustrating.
I agree that the biggest issue is the lack of transparency on how things are calculated. It's very discouraging to not have the insight needed for my business
My sales stopped two weeks ago out of nowhere! Sure I've had slow times but this is something different.. I was wondering what's been up. I'm sure it's this.
Urghhhh it’s so hard to like Posh😂 They don’t care about sellers. Just give them more money. I wish I had access as well… their lack in g transparency as you said is continually disheartening. Very good deep dive my friends❤️ I have sooo much more I can say and rant about. But I’ll stop here🤣
My sales have been terrible this month. I have almost 800 active listings and I usually get around 3-5 sales per day on average. The last few weeks I’m lucky if I got 3-5 sales total. This is my income poshmark needs to do better. April was my best month so far this year then May came and a switch went off. I thought it was me but after reading other comments I see I’m not the only one.
@@spendingunder30 I don’t know when it started but I swear my closet feels dead since about 1.5-2.5 weeks ago, the only reason I’m making any sales is by people accepting 50% off offers or more and I just did a name your price sale, if I didn’t do that, may would have been my worst month ever in 5 years 😅
Great video guys! My sales have drastically decreased for the past 2 weeks, I am getting very little engagement and feel like I am in the shadows and that my closet is not seen. I have about 900 active listings, and regularly get 3-5 sales a day on average. The past 2 weeks I have gotten one 0 sale day and just 1 sale a day, Which is very low for me. I have signed up for the beta program but I have not been accepted yet. I am beyond frustrated with poshmark' s Lack of transparency , And feel like we are being left in the dark. This is a source of income for many, and it is very discourageding and disheartning To see how poshmark has been dealing with it's users 😰
I have been feeling the same way with regard to feeling invisible on Posh. I kind of feel like when I do get a sale, it's because someone was *really* looking for that item, not because of anything Posh is doing. Last month, I had a full, straight week of zero sales on Posh, which blew my mind. How does that even happen? I listed. I shared. I re-listed. I did all the things and it felt as though no one was seeing my items. I've emailed them a few times about this - now they don't even respond to me. Super lame company, imo. I'm in customer service myself and they don't do the bare minimum to make people feel heard in a real, substantial way. I'm already working on building up eBay, but this weekend will find me listing things on Vestiare as well. Diversifying is key, imo. Good luck!
SAME! My tinfoil theory is that those who are NOT in beta but are Poshmark Ambassador II were very negatively impacted by this testing. It seems to me that some changes may have already been made, but originally when this rolled out, if I searched “Zara Floral Maxi Dress”, the results that came back included PLATES and Jewelry (it seemed that the search would pull in ANY promoted listing with ONE of the search words in it) in my top 10 results. Of the top 10 results, half were promoted listings and only ONE was an actual Zara dress. It was beyond frustrating. Those that I’ve spoken to who are not Posh Ambassador II say they don’t see the word Promoted on the listings at all. If this is true, then clearly those of us without access to the ability to promote are at the very least having a negative impact in our ability to search. Man, I would love to be a business analyst on this “project”. Pick me, Poshmark! LOL. Thanks for your analysis and the information. I hope Posh realizes this is NOT the way to go, or at least not in its current iteration.
I have been looking for more information on the promoted closet. I noticed that so far my monthly sales have not changed month over month. My closet has over 600 active listings, I did the beta and watched promoted closet claim that all my sales are now from promoted closet, besides 3 or 4 of them. I decided to pay for one month to see how it shakes out, but so far my sales have been almost the same with and without the "feature". I have noticed a massive uptick in new traffic to my closet, a lot more likes, but they have not equated to new sales. I have also noticed many more very-very low offers. I do not see myself paying beyond this month. It was mostly an experiment to see if promoted closet would give me a boost above and beyond. It has not and it really bothers me that it also has claimed all my sales are through the promoted closet feature. I find that very odd.
I have seen a drop in sales from 5 to 8 items per day to 1 to 2 items per week since the beta testing started. My sales have been consistent over time I share all the time. I list all the time. This is just a way for Poshmark to make the same type of money that eBay does. This is absolutely coming down the road for all Poshmark sellers. They want to make more money than the 20% they already make. I’m not knocking them, I’m just stating a fact. The slow down is not just a summer slow down, it’s an economic slow down. 15% of the people I met at thrift stores three years ago we’re resellers now it’s up to 85%. Everyone wants to make money on the side. People are not buying as much as they were before, and they want it for pennies on the dollar. Poshmark is capitalizing on this opportunity.
The problem is the search engine. I lookup most of the items I list 2/3 of what I’m searching is not what I’m looking for. As a buyer I’m size XL if I’m searching for a top that I’d blue in XL they are promoting other sizes like S M 4x. Know I will click on those sizes to check it to see if they have my size. 99% of the time it’s one size.🤨
Lowest March, April, and May since I started reselling in 2018. I am not in the beta program. 7 sales so far in May and I usually average 50/60 sales per month. The likes have gone way down and overall engagement in my closet is way down. I have been very consistent with listing quality items, sharing, and even started community sharing again. Nothing! It’s very frustrating.
I don't sell a lot but something seems weird at the moment being sick I have purposely not be sharing my closet as much or listing hardly anything yet sales have continued likes have been better it's absolutely just strange. I still strongly feel I will not do promoted listings I do see that since live auctions people want to get stuff for 3.00 I just ignore likes on things that I not taking any less for. If some sends a even lower offer I just explain it and they at that point want the item and take my offer . Not an expert in any way just the way I choose to run my business
Pay per click is kinda ridiculous, considering the amount of $3-$5 offers ive been getting and i woukd oay to keeo thise people from clicking my listing at all! Im still trying the beta program cause it's free but not planning on keeping it after the promo is over.
Strong analysis as always. I’m not a big fan of Poshmark and I am not doing the promoted listings beta ironically, my sales there the past few weeks have actually been up for no known reason. You are so right about lack of transparency and seller tools. Of course, this causes mistrust and disloyalty. I think this hurts them on both ends because many sellers are also buyers.
My thoughts are this. The pay per click isn't intended to help us. It allows Poshmark to move away from the use of "sharing" to promote closets and gives them PERMISSION to amplify the "deep-pocket corporate closets" like Free People where they can make more money to satisfy shareholders. If we want to make a nickel, it looks like we will have to pay them a dime. I pay to be boosted on DePop but I don't pay DePop 20 percent out of the starting gate and I also ONLY pay if they sell my item. Pay per click, pardon my french but, fuck that. Makes me glad everything is in List Perfectly because its def time for pour my energy elsewhere because I really think Poshmark will cease to be a full time income.
I’ve been selling on posh and eBay for about 3 months. eBay is such a better platform but the appeal that posh has is how convenient it is to new users. I’ve generated much more sales on eBay and the fees posh have are so much higher than eBay. It genuinely surprises me how much I actually make after the Poshmark fees when you consider how much the buyer pays compared to eBay.
Mine are significantly lower and I am not in the beta. I am about 3K under last month. Traditionally my April and May year over year are nearly the same in sales with May being lower by a few hundred. For what it's worth. I'm generally happy with my sales. I'm not complaining about no or slow sales. I'm keen as to what I'm picking up anymore. I can only assume my stuff is being presented less. I did 6900 last month on posh and I'm at 4100 now....
I sold those same Elevenses pants in black like 2 years ago for $20, so I don't think it's the color, that's just what they go for. They are super cute though!
I’m definitely gonna stay away from these promoted listings on Poshmark. I for million percent do them on eBay but that’s because you only pay for them when you sell an item and that makes sense to me I can’t see paying for a promoted listing on the chance that you maybe perhaps might do a sale on poshmark that doesn’t make sense to me. When Poshmark sent this up, they totally had two options, set this up so it was a win-win for both of us, or a win-win for only them, and they chose it as a win-win for only them. In this particular instance, they didn’t win with me as far as I’m concerned. Usually, I’m not someone who likes to bash poshmark, but this one didn’t sit well with me.
Poshmark has always been my favorite platform and is by far my biggest platform, but dear God, idk what their deal is lately. Its like they have been absolutely determined to change and add things that no one has asked for or wants, which is so confusing. its like they're all sitting in the office scratching their heads like "okay, how can we screw things up and make it as difficult as possible for literally everyone involved"
In my opinion, Poshmark is trying to find its way. What drives me crazy is that they’re not transparent and getting information is so hard to come by with the exception of the comps getting lower and lower on items due to live posh shows. I feel like it’s hard to get a true idea of an items worth. I find myself going to eBay to check comps. I appreciate the video and I will say my sales have been pretty bad since the beta program started, but as always…we shall see what they end up doing. I find it hard to pay them 20% now with lower comps and I adore y’all for taking the hit and reporting back. There’s no way I’m giving more to them in my reselling business. I’m just cross posting everything to other platforms. At least with EBay, the fees are lower so you can promote listings if you want to.
Exactly for me transparency is key. If they want to add these new features we need transparency around them. The way they roll things out is very frustrating.
Im not for it. You pay, you go to the top, everybody else pays they go to the top and your all the way down under them. Also, we can already do that by sharing foe free. This seems good for posh, not sellers.
I think that is a huge concern for people. Once everyone is promoting their listings it basically means that we are all back to square 1 and meanwhile Poshmark gets more money!
That charging for clicks is INSULTING ! Posh is under estimating the seller’s intelligence. You guys are thorough & you do the work to pin point the facts . However knowing any additional charge could be put in place over the insane 20% they take already make me run the opposite way.
On the bot front … I had some one , or not , ❤ at least 12 listings the other day right down the line a dozen hearts in my feed. , It’s one year on Posh this month & I haven’t seen anyone do that , so that made me think ….
I'm not in the Beta program, but this sounds terrible. Unless they come up with some good explanations and some analytics, I would never use promoted listings. My profit is as low as I can afford it to be, since we're already paying the 20% fee and the discount for shipping (most of the time). I do like eBay and their promoted listings program. Oh and as soon as this Poshmark program started, my sales dropped. If Poshmark is continuing to make more money as years go by, I don't know who they're doing it. Can't figure it out. Thanks for letting us know what you've experienced.
I hope more videos come out with insight so we can see how it goes after we are out of the beta. It does look like more analytics may be coming but we wont be in the beta to see it.
"Personally, I see Posh as desperate. Every feature they release is subpar at best and never gets an overhaul. This program is grasping at straws." Sales have been non-existent. I sold more in 2017 when I just started that now with 500ish items in my closet.
No tin foil hat, they are being deliberately vague. No way I'm going to pay for promoted listings if it's by the click. And if it is the shit show it seems like now, I only hope that the majority does not go for it. Then it won't matter. Seriously I have lost all trust in Poshmark, not as a place for me to sell but as far as the conspiracies, not far fetched at all sadly. I don't like ebay whaaaaaaaaaa . Take the lead and get us all banded together!
My sales are terrible! Why list anything when your damn closets is not showed!!I pay for two different programs just to sale on Poshmart and I don't believe went Ishare it's still not showing. I have been a seller for 4 years and this is as bad as when I started..my closet size is over 4,000..Ido not think Poshmart gin=ves a S about it's sellers!!!Kathy
First question is how can you tell which likers are bots? I have had some that I have tried to communicate with and never responded back to me. Do the bots not have a photo? I mean I know that some accounts don't have listings, but how do I tell otherwise. And because of all the auction notifications that go out, I'm afraid that my offers are getting buried by those news feeds. Also, before the auctions even started that I did have more sales. I don't know about Poshmark anymore, I'm just glad that I have an eBay account. It probably doesn't help that about 1/3 of the US population are now reselling.
The scary thing is that bots are getting better and better. The one we saw had copied our actual listings to a seemingly real profile that even had a photo!
Not in beta program my sales crashed on May 7th. It was shaping up to be my best month now I don’t know if I will even hit 2k this month. I barely have any engagement and if I get an offer now it’s around $6 . They are making horrible business decisions
I'm so sorry to hear that. It's very troubling to think that Poshmark is very clearly making decisions for their own short term gain at the expense of the sellers.
I must CORRECT MY COMMENT ! The shopper that liked ❤ 14 listings in my feed one after the other (mentioned maybe a bot) I looked into it , many comments on her page from other sellers , saying “ Do you want to bundle all your likes ?” Just Odd.
I'm disappointed in Posh for so many reasons that when I heard about this new feature being unleashed, I just...couldn't. Lol. I'm glad you were willing to be the guinea pigs on this one. :) Thank you for sharing your experience. Sounds like it's shaking out to be simply another way for the platform to get more money out of sellers without giving anything in return. Somewhat unrelated, here's my conspiracy theory; I think that when we use Poshmark's sharing feature, it doesn't always work - by design. I've noticed that many times, I'll share all of my items and I'll get zero likes and zero re-shares. It's as though I literally shared nothing. (When I use a bot to share, I nearly always get "some" activity, and immediately.) I wonder if Posh suppresses their sharing function when they want to push Live Shows. I'm probably just being paranoid - but I can't help it at this point. They don't give us the tools/info we need in order to know what's going on, least of all to thrive as sellers. I really am trying to get eBay to be more consistent because I'd absolutely love it to be my main platform. This month they're neck and neck with regard to sales for the first time, so here's hoping! Thanks again for your videos! Really appreciate it.
My sales took a huge turn when everyone started getting approved and doing Posh Shows. That’s when I decided to start pivoting to eBay. When they announced the promoted closets (which sounds like a generic Etsy copycat) I knew it was the end of Poshmark for me. It would be a platform that I will post to when I feel like it. The sales have been horrible and not consistent as they use to be.
Not part of beta testing. May sales are SLOW and had been selling 40-70 items per month previously. May not yet at 30 sold. This year overall has been slower on Poshmark than 2022. May have to learn EBay😩.
Ew I definitely have no interest in using the promoted stuff. If I had the chance to try it free I would but definitely not paying for that! My sales have been doing great lately just being more careful with what I buy, like checking sell thru rate and comps on every item, so I'll stick to where I'm at lol . Doesn't sound like a very good deal to me.
Not part of beta. Sales have crashed. I’m totally losing interest in Posh and I’m not willing to play their games anymore. I’m also not interested in doing live shows. Just not my personality. Haven’t gone over to Ebay. I don’t know where to start, I guess. I suppose I better figure it out.
I bet Posh will phase out sharing; they are trying so hard to be like Ebay, yet Posh is still so small (not worldwide) and wet behind the ears...What's next!
Poshmark Naver I hope you read here: put your attorneys on notice. Your business practices have fallen into the gutter of criminal activity. To "Spending Under 30" --- Thank you for all of the information and for breaking down the "Promoted Listings" beta and your experience for us. I watched yesterday and just could not comment, I was so shocked by the lack of transparency and the obvious cash grab this was. --- It also occurred to me that if this was any other situation wherein money was being taken in this manner it certainly would borderline on being CRIMINAL and FRAUD. ----No info on what they are doing but they are taking money for it??? ---- Maybe this will end up as class action against Naver/Poshmark, and or someone will contact the Federal Authorities here in the US and open an investigation on these dealings. This is not ok and again, the lawyer in me - well the RED FLAGS are there. It is just my opinion, I am not in the beta, but if I had gone through this, I would be contacting the Attorney General in my State, and the States Attorney to take a look at it and the Feds as well since of course they are perpetrating this scammy behavior across state lines. Again, it is not about promoted closets, now I see it as truly criminal behavior that looks like fraud. Thanks for sharing all the things they are hiding from users - WOW that is just beyond belief.

The Posh Show alerts have increased 1000x for me this week! So annoying!
Mine is the same! four sales this week and I have over4,000 listings. all that shows in my feeds is shows..that is destroying my business!!
Same here….super slow now and soooo many live sale notifications that the few and far between follows and shares are getting lost.
The live show notifications are definitely getting out of control. I also read that for the live sellers because of these notifications they are losing so many followers. Just doesnt seem good on any front.

🙋🏻♀️ Not a part of the beta testing- my sales are half of what they normally are. Huge decrease. Just to note, my closet size is about 1400 items. 😢
My sales are also half this month since may started it’s like something completely changed with sales. Something is not right.

I havent used promoted closet since beta. So I am not sure how its going but for me it didnt seem worth it. Have you tried it since this comment?
I wonder how they decide on your weekly budget during the free trial? I got access today and it says I have a $40 budget per week!?

Thank you very much for the insight into promoted listings and trying to make sense of it.
I was thinking this was not worth it.
I made $26k in sales in (13k)March and (12.9k)April and about $5k in May off of $20 shirts so yeah major
My sales are consistent. I also have not seen a single promoted listing when searching posh. I don’t plan on paying extra to promote anything.
From my understanding promoted listings are rolling out slowly. You may seem tham in time but I am glad your sales are consistent!

That is a HUGE difference in sales! I can say that I am jealous of those numbers even after the decrease.
Poshmark is a dumpster fire ya'll! 🔥
Poshmark is not making things easy that's for sure.
Im ranting about this everywhere I can find to rant about it.
Another thing is Posh is still small to the world US only and Ebay is world wide.
Posh is in Canada and I think the UK as well but they have stopped expansion efforts to focus on their domestic sales I believe.
YES to Noel Fielding. I love that goth looking weirdo and look up his sweaters a lot ❤
My sales are definitely slower, and I’m not in the Beta program.
I have had serial likers in the past, they are not often buyers sadly.
My sales are horrible 😢
I wish we had the pull for that! We need a big seller to lead the charge on this one!
Lower sales. Use a sharing service. Share on my own and not on promoted beta.
I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully your sales pick up soon.
This was so helpful!
Glad to hear that you liked it!
@@spendingunder30 I completely agree . They are extremely short sighted . Not sure what their end game is
Please do an eBay vs Posh stats video!!
We can certainly try, but I fear that it will be rather one sided because eBay actually has stats lol
@@spendingunder30 exactly tho!!
I must CORRECT MY COMMENT !
The shopper that liked ❤ 14 listings in my feed one after the other (mentioned maybe a bot) I looked into it , many comments on her page from other sellers , saying “ Do you want to bundle all your likes ?” Just Odd.
It’s a bot
There’s nothing to learn as it’s list it and forget it. None of the sharing and mega dropping prices and eating shipping costs.
Ebay for me was a learning curve but definitely worth it!
Checking the sell through rate is a great strategy! With clothing it can be a bit tricky and time consuming but worth it.
I am simply not doing promoted listings! If I’m going to pay to play then I want to actually PLAY!!!!
Yep sales are way down for me and I haven't been invited to beta
I hope it improves for you soon!
I share to parties only. And I don’t use a bot.
I bet Posh will phase out sharing; they are trying so hard to be like Ebay, yet Posh is still so small (not worldwide) and wet behind the ears...What's next!
I can't imagine that Posh would get rid of sharing and have mixed feelings about sharing because you can make arguments for and against.
I don't feel like this was a good program. But , you seem to have had good sales.
So far it doesn't seem promising. Sales are slower than we would like, but overall we're happy to have the sales we do!
Well this all sounds so promising😂
I take it you don't want to pay more for the same amount (or less) in sales? Weird
@@spendingunder30 Right??? Call me crazy!😁
Poshmark Naver I hope you read here: put your attorneys on notice. Your business practices have fallen into the gutter of criminal activity.
To "Spending Under 30" ---
Thank you for all of the information and for breaking down the "Promoted Listings" beta and your experience for us.
I can’t keep rolling my eyes, I’ll need surgery if Poshmark keeps acting stupid 🙄🙄🙄🫠
My mom used to tell me that if I roll my eyes too much they will get stuck that way lol
@@spendingunder30 haha me too
