Glentaker and VixXstazos are right actually. In the 90s, Capcom was on a winning streak creatively with their games. The characters and their designs were innovative, the soundtracks were catchy, and the storytelling was solid. Most of all, they were not afraid to take risks. This isn't nostalgia talking, its the truth. Capcom is afraid of progression with Street Fighter in terms of character design and story, that's why they phone it in with the nostalgia and playing safe.
I agree for Capcom, I do prefer their older game(although they still released 45 version of the same one, they had excellent creativity with stuff like darkstalkers, the vs serie etc etc) I just don't agree with the "in general" part. There are still a ton of freaking great game "made with heart and love" today, and there were a tons of bad ones made to rip off kids in the 90's. Just because capcom sucks today doesn't means that no one can make great game anymore(even for fighting game, you have kof 14, guilty, skullgirlz, tekken7... I'll admit I only play third strike, but still : o) )

Man, I loved the fucking Alpha Counter Lightning effect. Sucks that Alpha Counters ate a chunk of your Guard Meter, but I always loved that lightning strike and "BOOM!" that followed

If I was a rational human being, I'd agree. However, 3D graphics everywhere prevent anything more from happening, hence why we don't have special intros. Enjoy post-match quotes for the next infinite millenia and hope and pray some indie dev will include this feature like they did with Skullgirls :^)
Even with SF6, SFA3 Max is still the best SF, the roster, game modes and special intros give the edge by far, on SF6 you dont have any special intro and the new characters are so boring! BTW Ryu vs Ken intro and Yun vs Feilong intro are epic!
Honestly Capcom, re-release this game already. The fact that this game was a PSP exclusive is a crime. Re-release this game in a dual pack with Alpha 2 Gold.
Personally, I didn't like this version. • The PSP truly needed Alpha Anthology, not just plain old Alpha 3 with "MAX" slapped onto the cover. • It made no plot-driven sense adding Eagle, Maki, Yun and Ingrid to the prequel game Alpha 3 (3rd Strike and is more fitting and consistent for them). • The 30th Anniversary collection is definitely missing both Alpha 2 Gold and Alpha 3 Upper.
@@KenMasters. I'll give you that adding Yun and Ingrid might not make sense lore wise, but Eagle and Maki? The Alpha series was all about bringing in SF1 and Final Fight characters. What makes Eagle and Maki so different from, say Birdie and Guy? Besides, not all characters need to fit in the lore, they can just be added in for fun.

In the official Alpha artwork (and manga adaptation), Eagle still wore a bow tie, also Final Fight 2 still took place in 1989 like Alpha 3. In Capcom vs. SNK 2, Eagle and Maki clearly looked a decade older because the year was 2001. The PS2 and XBOX ports of 3rd Strike would suit them better lore wise, also because Eagle can fight Dudley & Sean and Maki can fight Ibuki & Hugo as matching rivals. The exclusive newcomers Alpha 3 truly needed was the rest of the SF1 cast, including the 13-year-younger Eagle.
Most taunts always seem to be about looking down on your opponent and only a handful few are light-heartedly enough to be friendly, so seeing ingrid playing that little trick on Blanka then giving him back his bananas was so awesome! It was like "nah, here you go, I was just kidding. ;P" (me: X3)
Seeing these intros in SFA3, them to the SF3 series, and later onto the SF4 & SF5 series (P1 Ryu: "The answer of battle... lies from within." VS 2P Ryu: "The answer of battle... lies from within." and 1P Chunli "Want to see my kungfu?" VS 2P Chunli "Want to see my kungfu?") really shows the quality and minute details of the SF series have really really gone down. It's no longer made with love.

Honestly Capcom, re-release this game already. The fact that this game was a PSP exclusive is a crime. Re-release this game in a dual pack with Alpha 2 Gold.
Personally, I didn't like this version.
• The PSP truly needed Alpha Anthology, not just plain old Alpha 3 with "MAX" slapped onto the cover.
• It made no plot-driven sense adding Eagle, Maki, Yun and Ingrid to the prequel game Alpha 3 (3rd Strike and is more fitting and consistent for them).
• The 30th Anniversary collection is definitely missing both Alpha 2 Gold and Alpha 3 Upper.
@@KenMasters. I'll give you that adding Yun and Ingrid might not make sense lore wise, but Eagle and Maki? The Alpha series was all about bringing in SF1 and Final Fight characters. What makes Eagle and Maki so different from, say Birdie and Guy? Besides, not all characters need to fit in the lore, they can just be added in for fun.

The way Eagle and Maki truly looked in the Alpha trilogy was the same during their debuts. In the official Alpha artwork (and manga adaptation), Eagle still wore a bow tie, also Final Fight 2 still took place in 1989 like Alpha 3.
In Capcom vs. SNK 2, Eagle and Maki clearly looked a decade older because the year was 2001. The PS2 and XBOX ports of 3rd Strike would suit them better lore wise, also because Eagle can fight Dudley & Sean and Maki can fight Ibuki & Hugo as matching rivals.
The exclusive newcomers Alpha 3 truly needed was the rest of the SF1 cast, including the 13-year-younger Eagle.

Most taunts always seem to be about looking down on your opponent and only a handful few are light-heartedly enough to be friendly, so seeing ingrid playing that little trick on Blanka then giving him back his bananas was so awesome! It was like "nah, here you go, I was just kidding. ;P" (me: X3)
Is there a reason in the plot/lore for why Ingrid and Blanka seem to know each other?

Seeing these intros in SFA3, them to the SF3 series, and later onto the SF4 & SF5 series (P1 Ryu: "The answer of battle... lies from within." VS 2P Ryu: "The answer of battle... lies from within." and 1P Chunli "Want to see my kungfu?" VS 2P Chunli "Want to see my kungfu?") really shows the quality and minute details of the SF series have really really gone down. It's no longer made with love.
