I enjoy your tutorials a lot but noticed three things missing from them that might help new users:
    1) Mention that "possible candidates" are also called "pencil marks" from how people solve Sudoku on paper.
    2) Show how pencil marks are filled in efficiently. Usually solvers consider one number at a time per each house.
    3) Show how resolving a number propagates by erasing pencil marks in cells in shared houses.

      1) I haven't used paper and pencil to solve a Sudoku in over 2 years. At this point, I only solve Sudoku using software. The software user guides I did show smart phone software that pulls in givens using your smart phone's camera. All three programs I cover all compute the "pencil" marks or possible candidates for you for every cell all at once. With software the better term is probably "pixel marks". But I went with "possible candidates" in my videos. I did not invent "possible candidate":
      sudopedia.enjoysudoku.com/Candidate.html
Some people use the term "box" but I use "block" for the 3 x 3 sub-grids because prisons have "cell blocks".
Solving Sudoku using software for me is a better experience than paper and pencil. For me this is like using a smart phone versus a rotary phone. But I get it that some people love the paper and pencil way.
      2) There are two schools of thought when it comes to filling in possible candidates. I am in the school that fills out ALL possible candidates from the get-go. I prefer to fill out ALL possible candidates in each cell for two reasons. First, you never miss a Naked or Hidden Single, Pair, Triple, or Quad that pops up. And second, you have to fill out all the possible candidates in order to do more advanced puzzle solving techniques like Skyscraper, 2-String Kite, Empty Rectangle, W-Wing, XY-Wing, or Turbot Fish.
      3) Again, all the software I use automatically updates each cell's possible candidates when I choose a value for a cell. But the idea of how possible candidates are computed based on how each cell is part of three shared houses is covered in detail in this video:
      ruclips.net/video/6WnFkrUt_10/видео.html
I would love to update some of my earlier dxSudoku videos #1-#9 but RUclips does not allow you to do in place replacement. So instead of redoing all the earlier videos I've been doing Quick Videos. Here is the Quick Video for Naked Singles: ruclips.net/video/78m3hK2J3mk/видео.html
The #40 video I referenced is also a redo of my earlier videos. #40 is meant to be a replacement for dxSudoku #1 through #9. Also, the #40 video presents a general puzzle solving method or algorithm which is based on filling out ALL possible candidates.
Again, RUclips does not make it easy to update existing content. I think I've gotten much better at doing the videos after doing this for just over a year. Even so I decided to keep the earlier ones since RUclips doesn't support video updates.

@@dxsudokuchannel I wasn't suggesting you go back to using pencil and paper. I was saying you skipped over important thought processes. Yes, the term "pencil marks" is derived from paper-and-pencil Sudoku but it is the most common term for noting candidates. Also, AFAIK even the Android app you yourself recommend, Andoku 3, requires manually filling in pencil marks. So, your videos would be improved by saying how you go about doing that. Do you fill in all candidates 1-9 one cell at a time or do you fill in 1s in all cells, then 2s in all cells, etc? Anyway, your videos are really, really good. I was only suggesting ways they could be even better, IMHO. Whether you apply those suggestions in the future is entirely up to you.

@@jones1618 Thanks for the feedback. It's probably a character flaw on my part that I am so anti-paper and pencil. Sorry for if I'm being a little stubborn on it. You make a very good point about the thought process. And I am of course not against the idea of improving my videos. And I don't disagree with you saying I should probably say more about pencil marks since it's probably a more common term at the present.
I just do not solve puzzles anymore by notation or filling out possible candidates manually. I let my computer software fill in and remove all the possible candidates automatically. I use Andoku 3 everyday so I am very familiar with it. I use Andoku 3's "Compute candidates" command before I start solving. Yes, you are right Andoku 3 does not compute the candidates by default like Hodoku does. Hodoku is my favorite by far for practicing and solving Sudokus. Hodoku is designed to show all the possible candidates by default so I've become very used to this way of solving puzzles. But I probably spend the most time on Andoku 3 since it's on my phone with me all day.
As I said there are two schools of thought or two ways of solving puzzles. This is a little by like choosing your favorite ice cream flavor. I just like having the computer fill in and remove all the possible candidates automatically. Please don't think I'm a stubborn jerk. It's just at this point after doing so many puzzles the filling out the possible candidate part I'm just not interested in doing. I let the computer software do the drudgery of filling out all the possible candidates. As I said it's like smart phone versus rotary phone. I just prefer the smart phone experience over the rotary phone experience. I just enjoy this way of solving Sudoku puzzles over the old way.
So there is a consequence to having the computer software fill out all the possible candidates for you from the beginning instead of doing it manually cell by cell. With my way of letting the computer do the drudgery of filling out the pencil marks you end up with lots of Locked Candidates and you have to do some extra work removing additional candidates that would not be put in doing it manually using some notation method. However, there are trade-offs in every design decision. By having ALL the pencil marks in each cell you never miss a Naked or Hidden single that pops up.
I spend a lot of time on Reddit helping people:
      www.reddit.com/r/sudoku/comments/hs761t/request_for_help_post_2/
There are many times people who do the paper and pencil method of manually filling out possible candidates leave a cell blank which has a Naked Single! A lot times people using paper and pencil notation manually do not finish filling out all the possible candidates in all the cells and they miss a Skyscraper which opens up a Naked or Hidden single.
Again, sorry if I am coming off like a jerk. It's a subjective choice as to which road you travel.

Here's a nice Wiki page you might find useful:
      hodoku.sourceforge.net/en/tech_singles.php
A "Full House/Last Digit" is pretty much the same thing as "Naked Single". I did a video where I explain how to solve a puzzle without using pencil marks. In this video, "Naked Single" is called "One Choice Remaining Type 1". I think this title is more descriptive. Type 2 in the video is a Hidden Single. Please try this video an let me know if it gave you a better explanation:
      ruclips.net/video/Cj4QcqLB5iI/видео.html
Also, here's another video I did titled "Beginner's Guide". I try to explain the Naked Single again this video:
      ruclips.net/video/6WnFkrUt_10/видео.html
Sorry video #2 did not delivery for you. Hopefully these other 2 videos will fill in any gaps.
