🐝Thanks for the great video🌻
Thank you for the lovely message! 😁
Looks like a slug racetrack, i hope it works. 🤞👍👍🤠
You and me both…however I’ve seen pics while I’ve been away that my dad sent…might’ve kept the slugs away but is now overgrown with weeds…can’t win!!
Thanks for the great video. Have just found your channel and subscribed. You have worked hard already. I like your cheery chatty style. I’ve been plotting for years and remember the hard slog of weed and bramble clearance. Keep at it!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment. Please feel free to comment anytime with your own hints, tips and stories of how things are going with you and what you’re growing! Can I ask, what is your favourite thing to grow?
@@Allotment.Newbie-Jenna when I first had my allotment in 2009 I made a bed for asparagus. I am now picking a bunch every day and it gives me such joy. Apart from that I love growing beans and salad leaves. Only last year, I decided to find more perennial vegetables and have now got Taunton Deane Kale and Babington leeks to look after! Brilliant and tender.
@@DevonLinda-Plot18 sounds great! I haven’t got a definite favourite yet…
The coconut core brick expands better when the water is hot or warm
It expands slow when the water is cold 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
@@loveatfirstsprout88allotment great I’ll try that with the other brick I have at home ☺️
Aw do Jenna from Doncaster. Rich here from Leeds. Happy growing! I'm intrigued by how successful the copper mesh is. I look forward to watching!
Hi there….ill let you know about the copper mesh…but my seedlings are just showing so I’ll find out after my holiday!! Haha
Hope all is growing well with you 😁
Slugs mullered my broad beans 😢😢 but I won’t sow more as I’ve got all the regular beans to put out. I use that mesh and have a few years I find it a bit hit and miss. You can also open it up like a sock and put it round each plant. Good luck 🤞🤞, have an awesome week, Ali 🥶🌤️🇨🇦
Sick to death of slugs! But there is plant life on my allotment which makes me very happy so have to keep thinking of the positives!!
Hope you have a great week too!
@@Allotment.Newbie-Jenna I just found 4 huge ones on my sedums I guess they like the soft leaves 🍃 I gave them an after dinner bath 🛁
Slugs are such a problem for us all aren't they! I've got copper strip around a plant pot with a Hosta in and it's worked against slug damage so far, fingers crossed. What with pigeons, crows, rats, mice and a bug or beetle for every crop its amazing we get results at an allotment 😆. I've just recently tried those dried coir bricks. We got a few from home bargains and I think they're so convenient. I was thinking the compost businesses should put less water in with the compost and us women could lift the bags easier lol
The coir bricks I got were awful…barely changed in size so maybe more expensive ones would be needed…you’re right it is a wonder we grow anything with what we are up against…but it’s good to know you’re not alone with all the issues 😄
Great progress!
Thank you so much for the kind words…doing my best! 😅
