- The first time (That I know of) a steam engine travels from Canada through the United States and into Mexico! CP 2816 ready to continue her trip to Mexico City!
That is some bad-ass heritage power leading that train. Makes me proud to be a Canadian
As an American who loves steam engines, that engine looks awesome and so do those diesels.
@@James-Railyard esos trastos tenian que estar en la chatarra
That equipment is beautiful. We Canadians are persnickety that way!
Canadian Pacific 2816 steam locomotive, pulling three Diesel-electric locomotives, and various vacation rail-cars in Texas heading to Mexico.
Memorable events.
Very nice video.
Thank you.
Ya llego a México. Saludos
The diesels are pushing it. They just boil a bit of water in there with propane so the horn works and to make it look like it's doing something.
This is why I’m proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 we need more of these videos
I'm vexxed it never came east . It was built in MTL for chissakes
that DAMN DOG
I know!
calm down he's just a foamer dog
He is American, bark but do not bite! Oh, I know who he is, he sounds like Trump!
@@gillesblanchard1699why do you have to bring politics into a video where it isn’t needed, no one thinks you’re funny

Good Catch CP 2816 Steam Engine Passenger Train I Saw CP 2816 Rosenberg Tx
CP 2816 before going into Mexico: 😀
CP 2816 after going into Mexico: 💀
🤣🤣
I can’t believe it’s happening!
A classic steam locomotive and a dumb dog with a motormouth!
Lol tell me about it.. I didn't even know the dog was there.. I had been there for about 20 to 30 minutes and not a peep.. then it hears the sound of steam and magically appears and wouldn't be quiet lol
The tracks look like a old style roller coaster
Great video JDawg, well done!
What a parade! ! !
A thing of beauty! It looks surreal.
Goodbye Empress , farewell 👋🏻
If we had a railroad to Tillamook Oregon from banks, then the 2816 should visit Oregon.
Ikr.There's times like these where I wish that old railroad was still operating
Amazing video.
From UK have travelled over a lot of Latin America and there is always a mad dog barking at trains. Paraguay Argentina in particular. Didn’t happen on crossing Canada on the old CP route from Toronto to Vancouver for EXPO 86
Amazing!
Quite a bit bigger than a Ka 4-8-4 in NZ. ( Note our gauge is “Cape” 1067mm/3ft-6in)
Que maravilla!!!!
the disagreement they had between cbp at the bridge was funny
Lol
What? They had a disagreement?
@@Michael-cl9cc They weren't sure weren't they had to stop by the DHS cabin/office
@@Michael-cl9cc they were instructed to stop by the customs laredo railroad office and engineer made it clear he didn't want to because of crossings blocked (just one) and fears of people climbing on board or tampering with equipment... meanwhile customs just wanted them to stop so they could get a pic of the steamer for themselves lol
I heard that on my scanner atm
Great video. I subscribed to your channel as well!
Thank you for the support!
Now I know why there were no passengers. Coming back will prolly be a different story
Nice video. LIKE .
beautifull
That 3rd rail in the foreground looks like dual broad guage, but i suspect it is actually some old ribbon rail they have yet to pick up.
It's actually a soon to be replacement for the current rail
God i thought thats an MBTA locomotive on the thumbnail lol.
Just awesome!
Hey Copilot, removing dog barking from the video.
Where is that Dog ? , you would have covered up that too
moments before disaster
Lol
Yep
This train recently hit a woman while she was taking selfies on June 4.
Is it coming back or did CP sell out the whole works to Mexico for 10000 pesos in scrap metal value because none of those engines meet current emissions regs?
Lol it's already back in Texas
Wouldn't be Mexico without a dog barking
This was in Texas just before going into Mexico
Lashup✔️🚂🔥🤯🔝🙌🏼
Adios Canadian Pacific 👋🏻
and then it never came back.
I saw Pito in the police car
Hello Jaydawg2010rp:
AWESOME!!!
A police escort & they even have a Mexican Chihuahua to greet it at the border.
Best
Catch btw
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Boa Noite amigo! Inscrita no Canal!! Like 168...saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷
When & why did they add the GE to the lash up?
That's a EMD
EMD SD70ACu
Because they can
I live near csx my mind is wired that every thing is GE 😂@DRRP
To provide power to cars and most likely help with breaking and or to move the train in the instance the empress can not pull
Did this train reall have a police escort?
Yes.. I met an officer from chicago that Said he had been with it since Kansas city and another was from Maine and said he had been following it from there
@@jaydawg2010rp So I guess now my question is why? What was on board that train that would require a police escort, or was it the train itself?
Usually when the executive trains pass through.. at least here.. they have or hire police escorts.. the only thing I can think of is to ensure the train does not get vandalized or no one hops on board... possibly even just to monitor rail fans to ensure their safety.
@@jaydawg2010rp That makes sense. 👍
@@Modine. narcos will do anything i guess
I suspect this is the first time 2816 has seen Mexico. Back in the day, there were a couple of CP track sections that ran in the U.S., but beyond that I doubt any CP engine would go further than the interchange points with American lines.
Correct. This trip makes 2816 the first Steam engine to operate in Canada US and Mexico
This is actually way bigger news than people realize. Mexicans are going out by the thousands to wave because to Mexico this marks a new beginning. The trains are coming back to Mexico. Canada, US and Mexico are fully connects by rails and Mexico is investing heavily in rails at the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and the Yucatán peninsula. Mexico has plans to make the Tren Maya connect to Belize and Guatemala. Americans and Canadians should be happy about this because Mexico is quickly becoming industrialized and bringing back all the manufacturing jobs from Asia. This will not only benefit Mexico but all of North America and Mexico doesn’t want to leave Central America behind. Helping Central America will be the only viable way to reduce mass migration. Mexico has a great plan but America is way too proud to admit it’s right. American politicians keep pushing the anti Mexico/invade Mexico agenda because they can’t stand the thought of Mexico becoming a Leftist, Humanitarian country that renationalized the petroleum and electric industry as well as nationalizing lithium. Current Mexican President has gained so much respect for Mexico around the world in the last 6 years and has begun a movement called the 4th Transformation of Mexico. Now Claudia Sheinbaum, the new elected president will continue with what’s is referred to as the 2nd level of the Transformation. Remember that American politicians know that there always needs to be an enemy and they sadly keep making it Mexico and its people. Mexico has always been a humanitarian country that remains neutral and always asks for peace among nations. America is just too greedy to allow Mexico to solve its issues. They create the problem and try to force their own solution on you, and that solution hardly ever helps your country.
@@salvadortorres2027I don’t know that all of your comments are correct, but I can offer two comments. Firstly, if the US can find a way to get in the way of progress out of pure meanness, they will take it. Secondly, please stop referring to residents of the US as “Americans”. All residents of North America and South America are “Americans”, not merely people of the USA.
I suspect this is the last time Mexico will see 2816.
@@jaydawg2010rp This trip will probably makes 2816 the last Steam engine to operate in Canada US and Mexico.
I wish all trains could look this nice free of all that filthy graffiti.
does it still use coal as fuel?
Fuel oil. Not sure exactly what though.
Dude it just hit somebody in Mexico to
Unfortunately yes.. passed in impact if I'm not mistaken

Although it won’t reach its original top speed of 145 km/h due to equipment age, the journey promises to be a remarkable celebration of rail history and the merger of Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern." according to Copilot!
On union pacific lines?
No! That's a CPKC track. CPKC and UP own separate tracks to a switch less than 400 feet from the international bridge. UP has trackage rights on CPKC from the switch to the international boundary on the bridge, where UP and CPKC de México officially interchange. The American portion of the bridge belongs to CPKC subsidiary Mexrail, Inc. The Mexican portion is owned by the Mexican federal government and concessioned exclusively to CPKC de México. The old depot that the train passes beginning at 2:14 is UP's.
No. On KCS track (CPKC)
When CP acquired KCS, it also acquired KCS's track and routes that run down into Mexico as far as Lázaro Cárdenas on the Pacific Coast and Tampico on the Gulf Coast.
CPKC is now the only North American Class I railway, that owns track and routes in all three countries.
Then 5 days later she hits a woman in mexico, she got hit in the head by the pistons, at a high speed.
Majestic machine! But this is actually way bigger news than people realize. Mexicans are going out by the thousands to wave because not only is this an amazing piece of history but to Mexico this marks a new beginning. The trains are coming back to Mexico. Canada, US and Mexico are now fully connected by rails and Mexico is investing heavily on reviving its once great rail network. They are also competing with Panama by building its own rail “canal” at the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and the Tren Maya in the Yucatán peninsula. Mexico has plans to connect the Maya Train to Belize and Guatemala. Remember that American politicians know that there always needs to be an enemy and they sadly keep making it Mexico and its people. Mexico has always been a humanitarian country that remains neutral helps anyone that needs it (to a point of even helping others before its own people) and always asks for peace among nations. America is just too greedy and proud to allow Mexico to solve its issues. They create the problem and try to force their own solution on you, and that solution hardly ever helps your country.
