    Nice catch! This locomotive Is a true iron horse, Built by MLW In 1930, This thing survived the Great Depression and WW2, Truly the darkest times In North America History, But due to the high demand of Passenger, Especially Streamlined, This locomotive, besides not streamlined would survive all the way up to 1960 to where Canada would close Its steam program, its nice to have a steam locomotive, Even when the PDC announced that there having major problems with number 3 and wont be running till 2025, Nice video!

    being pushed by diesels? Nice catch!

      @ThePrairiesRailfan 17 дней назад

      No, It’s because 2816 isn’t fitted with any PTC equipment in it, Also diesels also are used If something were to go wrong with steam locomotives, Which in that case they would lead and push the steam locomotive.

      @@ThePrairiesRailfan 1401 & 1407 are beyond beautiful - that Brown and Mustard yellow paint scheme back then was genius

      @@ThePrairiesRailfan 2816 actually does have PTC.

    • @ThePrairiesRailfan
      @ThePrairiesRailfan 16 дней назад

      @@calvaryslove1No, It isn’t equipped with any PTC (positive train control) and that’s why it has diesel locomotives behind it, CP 2816 was made In 1930 by MOW and runs under different regulations and conditions compared to what modern freight trains has to offer, If it had PTC, it would be like 4014 right now and wouldn’t need any diesel locomotives behind it.

      Diesels behind it tho, especially 7013 is PTC equipped however, Right now 4014 recently got installed PTC and is running solo.
