As long as there is no tightness that restricts body heat airflow, this combo looks suberb! I use practically the same system. I prefer yours. Thank you
In the mountains of Maine, thoes are with more than gold. I used to ski on Saddleback mountain, thoes were the goto gloves most outdoorsmen and women used. The fur back is for cleaning goggles when your googles are caked in snow. I enjoyed the modifications people would make with these gloves. Most rookie would ware the whole jacket and gloves together. But the old guys on the mountain would sew an a a length of web belt into the cuff of the jacket and gloves with a buckel and a velcro loop on the outside the sleeve. The modifications to the glove abd jacket enshure that the gloves could be removed from the hand but not lost.
These look amazing. They are so hard to get in the UK, if they ever arise they are about £50 and to get them on eBay with shipping it comes to $100 roughly to get a pair in decent condition like yours. I am so envious I hope these are still serving you well. I had to get myself some German army surplus mitts instead which came to £10 only, they are goretex and have fur lining, but are big like yours so you can layer up. However i would get your US Arctic mitts in a heartbeat if I could. If you ever plan to sell yours or move somewhere warmer, you have a customer with me, I would happily pay for the postage also!
I mean when getting them on eBay, they are all from US international sellers so the postage is insanely expensive. I've only ever seen them being sold from England once and they were fifty£ and in awful condition...
Arctic mittens are water resistant, the outside of the glove or mitt can be cleaned with a mild soap and water. Use a damp soft cloth and mild soap to gently clean off any surface dirt. Do not soak the glove, just wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth. Be careful not to over-wet them or vigorously rub it when trying to remove any worn in dirt. Allow them to dry naturally in a warm area out of direct sunlight.
I am an endurance athlete and do long hours in sub zero temperatures in the Winter. I have been looking at these as an open minded option than the standard $100-$500 dollar range gloves. Are these waterproof?
hi i came across these on ebay and on there they have three different sizes S,M,L just wondering what size yours are and in your opinion what size would you get to basically do what you did with the gloves inside the mitts. great video btw.
I bought these at a surplus store in Anchorage, and they only had large. I have no trouble with them, though I have small hands. The middle layer of gloves I used are also large, simply because that was also the only size available. I think when gloves are looser it also allows more dead air space which may help my hands stay warm without constricting my fingers. I can also add hand warmers inside if needed because there is room. I am comfortable with the large, because I want them loose enough that I can slip them on and off without a struggle. I hope this helps. Have fun with your Arctic Mittens!
Trigger finger mittens have a separate trigger finger section, besides the thumb and mitten. Mine do not have the trigger finger, but I have seen them as well. Choose the ones that work best for your outdoor activities. Thanks for watching.

I have a black leather set with a second cover and the green and orange set. Both I got from a thrift store
Nice finds. Stay warm.

Hello, what size are the mittens you have? Did you size them up to fit all of your layers?
I think they are a medium, I have small hands so lots of gloves will work with them.

No, they are not waterproof per say but they can be treated.
You should review your fur coats

That is correct. Thanks for the explanation, and for viewing my channel.
