Why because they're skinny, they have the traditional body that the Eastern European like for their gymnasts
@@beyourself2444 They aren't that skinny. They look tall though. Shawn Johnson's and Biles's style of gymnastic is also very attractive because it's powerful. Each style has its own beauty. The international look is not everything.
Long legs and arms = lines

@@rubyjones274 Thank you for understanding what I'm trying to say. I think Suni Lee and Kyla Ross in 2013 don't exactly have the stick thin figures to exactly qualify as having the 'international look', but they are both extremely graceful on beam. Lovely lines!
We have so many talented gymnasts. I wish they could all go in 2024.
This quad along with the 2012 and 2016, is some of the most remarkable gymnastics I’ve ever seen.

Suni's gymnastics is just beautiful in general. Unfortunately because of the "hype machine" she's so underscored, underrated all and overlooked for the artistry and mastery of the skills. It's unfortunate. She is gymnastics. Skills + artistry + mastery of both = great gymnastics ❤ Remove they "hype" she would be a 🥇🥇🥇 a heck of a lot more often.

Nothing minor about 2 serious types of kidney diseases. They are just experimenting on her with different medications to see what works. She doesn’t look well at all and if I were her mother, although I am old enough to be her grandmother, she damn sure would not be doing any elite gymnastics. Wonder if her family realizes that her pancreas could be next. Of course she’s a good gymnast and we want to see her compete while she is alive. I’m sorry but this just breaks my heart. She’s a kid.
She was glorious!! She is coming from college competition so she will have to get back to Olympic level, but still gorgeous to watch!!

Okay, non-gymnast here, but Joscelyn's execution didn't seem quite as polished as the others'...? I'm guessing hers had a higher start value, but like the leg separation and landing positioning seemed iffy to me?
She's famously messy especially with her legs, hope she cleans it up because she gives me Skinner vibes
i also dont quite understand how she scores so high when her execution is sloppy. shes so powerful if she just fixed up how her skills look I think she could go so far but without that execution its just not great to look at
I thought the same things. The legs look bent and apart in the vault. I prefer the look of jade

@@nicolehex she is a gymnast who has much lower execution scores in international than domestic competitions, the US domestic judging is generally deemed a bit generous compared to international judging but there's always a few US gymnasts like Roberson and Skinner who get much much lower scores internationally than they do domestically.

Totally agree! The only spot that could possibly change is Kaliya. I could see Suni switched into that spot for her bars/beam IF she is healthy. Cause kaliya brings string floor and good vault (but that's not where we need help). And at this point I do not see Jade or Jocelyn making it. They simply have too much form and execution problems. So yeah, Suni or possibly Jordan might replace Kaliya. But the other 4 I think should be LOCKS.

Shilese Jones (2nd best AA, could be used for all 4 events)
Leanne Wong (3rd best AA, consistent, can fill in on any event, could be used for floor if she performs better than Roberson)

Joscelyn Roberson (solid cheng that will come clutch in team final, can definitely medal individually, solid floor as well)
Alternate: Jordan Chiles (consistent AA, better execution/artistry than Carey, can fill in on any event, will be a hype teammate for team final)

We will certainly see, but I think this is a good list. We have to see about Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Suni Lee. I also heard a rumor about Gabby Douglas coming back, so if that is true, that will certainly be interesting.
I’d do the exact same but have Suni on bars instead of Simone and on beam instead of Leanne/Shilese
@@Haazza - So, who would you be getting rid of? You can't have the same list with those changes because you'd have a six-person team when only five are allowed.
I like this, but I actually think Jordan Chiles has a negative effect. Her hype is only a plus when the ladies are already doing well.
I like this team EXCEPT for Jocelyn. We need to be realistic about her form and execution right now. She is going to get OBLITERATED by international judges for reals. I would replace her with suni, Tiana, or kaliya lincoln

Shilese Jones uneven bars with her overall work was so elegant and amazing. She a model for sure with a lot of beauty. We love seeing her.

Simone has some tough competition sky is really good she’s exceptionally coordinated and she’s very smooth. She makes it look very easy.
Oh we proud of her she deserves everything she has. Special the handsome and famous young athlete.

I have been rooting for her for so long! She is awesome! The ONLY thing that worries me is her confidence and consistency. She seems to get rattled too easily and that scares me a bit. But just speaking about her talent, she is amazing!

I haven't seen Jade that genuinely happy after a routine in a WHILE. Even though she was lowballed on floor I'm glad she was able to full it together for night 2 (fun fact I just googled her beam score and nvm
She didn’t get low balled- she just got all the artistry deductions she NEEDS to be getting for absolute shit dance

@@brodypennThose Olympians were performing under different rules and CoPs and obviously they have NOT studied the current code. See Nola’s and Shi’s floor and check who their choreographers are, I’m betting you anything you want that they are not those two “Olympians”

Her approach on the cheng is bad... its a deduction... form split legs, flexed feet, I mean what do you think she should have gotten? Sorry she isnt that girl this code.
@@lalareal180 Her landings on night 2 were so good, but to be completely honest, when I went back and watched both vaults at half speed, I think her scores were fair. She does have bent legs and some bend in the hip mid flight and although a little improved on the Cheng pre-flight leg separation, the deduction is still there. So, point taken.

DAMN!! Jade looks so freaking good on her stuck landings on her vaults. Both Skye snd Shilese look fabulous as do the returning pros. Suni, Simone, Jade . Paris & The furture is looking bright for the US ladies gymnastics.
On a side note, I loved Suni's and Simones leotards. Especially Suni's white one on Beam.
What do y’all think about national team selection?
I think it was fine given the selection procedures. I do think that there are more people who will be added after selection camp assuming they perform better so I think it was pretty fine.

How did Simone not get the gold for vault? She performed the Double Yurchenko and the Cheng.
Two nights, she needs four vaults for gold on vault. Night two she performed one vault.
She only competed 1 vault on Day 2. The Scores are AVG of the 2 vaults on each day.
Also she lost major deductions because her coach was on the mat

She hurt her ankle a bit on it day 1 - she had it tapped the second day. They are being really careful.
@@rbrookebIf that was the case she would also have downgraded her floor routine. She would still get gold in both floor and AA. She did the same thing on classics, it’s obvious she tries to promote Roberson to get her in the national team because they train together. She would even get a gold on vault with a simple 4.00 difficulty vault, lol

Edit: It's because Simone didn't compete two vaults the second day, neither did Shilese.
No she competed vault and had the highest scores by far. But, to get a medal for vault as an event, you have to do 2 different vaults on both nights of competition and she didn't do that. Not because she can't obviously lol, she just doesn't need to put any extra stress or strain on herself. There is literally no point in her doing extra vaults when she doesn't need to, does that make sense?
@@SquirtlePower809 apparently she "stung" her foot on day 1 and didn't want to risk it. Totally not worth it getting injured in nationals and risk not competing internationally

Seeng Jade and Skye's DTYs back-to-back, it's so obvious how much more height Jade has. I love Skye and her vualts are beautiful, but she shouldn't be averaging higher than Jade on that.

Jade has feet, knees, arms, and hand issues all the way around.

I watch this only because of Simone Biles. She makes everything in gymnastic easy, fun, wow but it's not a easy a it looks. Rest participants are talented but reminds me i have already watched such talents...one needs tocome of sth none dared, none seen n none anticipated...God bless you all n praying n anticipating Biles bags more gold medals she well deserves which unfortunately n sadly she missed in Japan...no more sushi for her 😂

This coach who is constantly in the way is getting on my nerves. He almost got hit by Simone Biles on her dismount.
In case you didnt see the whole show he was there purposely to spot her because that routine is very difficult and she is just coming back. So to play it safe they took the deduction for him being on the matt to spot her versus the risk of her getting injured. Her routine is so advance no one will pass her even with the small dedication. That was a smart move.
I did see the whole show that’s why I know he was doing it all night both nights. I’m all for safety and I know about spotting. I thought he was going to join her on the bars for a second.

However, OP is commenting on Laurent being there for bars which: (1) is totally common for all coaches to spot during bar routines and (2) is ridiculous because Laurent coached world champions and olympic medalists on bars, so he knows what he's doing lmao

I understand that all four events are going on at the same time, but they should at least ban song lyrics in elite competitions. Instrumental music only.
