Thanks for the info sir, less than an hour had mine back running, tied the grounds together, running at high-speed!! Alan👍
You’re welcome! Glad to see this video is still helping people out!

thanks!!!!! worked on my MKPDv2
Fixed mine. Thanks man!
This video saved me so much hassle thank you
Matt Fitch I’m glad I could help out!! And you’re very welcome
Fixed my issues thanks took out the extra motor cradles works great now...
Anyways so I have a 65lb thrust seems underpowered when I bought boat it was hooked up 12 volt is this possibly a 24 volt trolling motor
A.A. Bass Tournament I’d find the serial number on it if you can and look it up to see if it’s a 24v, you’ll burn up wires and a battery if it’s suppose to be a 24
Does this make you think the foot control isn't working properly since the speed control is lost? Thnx.
Dude thanks! Instantly worked
You’re welcome! Glad I could help out!
So far I took it all apart but it’s 92 degrees out side and was sweating so much my eyes were burning I had to go inside but my electric box looks just like yours will try again later when it cools down some
Do you think this will work on a Minn kota Traxxis 55 circuit board? Mine will run at first but once I go back to neutral or reverse it wont start and will just click. The trick for me to get it started (oldest trick in the book) is to hit the head to shake the circuit board. I swear im not making this up. It actually starts spinning again.
It did move a little bit. For real 😮, but just for a little bit and then stopped 🤔
Worked. Thanks bud.
Thanks worked on mine
Actual success, didn't have to do anything fancy, found the loss positive wire connection from the relay board.
Thanks for helping me fix mine
You’re very welcome! I’m glad this video is still helping people out over two years later!
I put them together and it’s still ticking
So your model was a V2 with a flat plug? There is a way to upgrade your board to the circle plug from the flat plug.
Mark Goss I didn’t realize that! I ended up upgrading to a 24v 70lb Maxxum
It’s a good hack though! I’m glad to know that. Did you sell your autopilot?
Mark Goss yeah I sold it to a buddy who had a super crappy motor guide that worked 50% of the time, every time 😂
Have any issues deploying this unit have an old boat with one on it and it’s incredibly hard to deploy
A.A. Bass Tournament I have the new unit and an older maxxum unit and they both deploy and pull up very easy. I’ll do some research and see what you can do to ease it!
FishingWithTy it’s like the motor head is sticking or not releasing in its cradle
A.A. Bass Tournament might try lubing up the bearing in the head, or replace the spring that sits in the cradle
Didn’t work on mine, and i have the same problem, just the clicking and turn but the propeller doesn’t turn 😞
Prop stops when turned left. Any ideas?
Could be a a wire coming loose when turning the head to the left
Starting moving wires and found the main power cord going to head would come loose. Thanks for the tip
@@TerryBalko-yl3gk glad I could help!!
So does this mean it will only work at full speed?
nour al-gweiry unfortunately yes, you won’t be able to use the speed adjuster and it’ll always be 100% power
@@RenegadeRCFPV i saw that, i did what you said and it works now just like you said but better then nothing thanks for the tip!
nour al-gweiry you’re welcome! And glad my video could help!
Mine is making a clicking sound and not moving I will check it out
Sam Tate let me know if it fixes it!
FishingWithTy I tried doing the same thing you did instead of cutting the wire I filed it and held them together inside the rubber to see if it would work it still makes that clicking sound in that square little box with numbers on it
Sam Tate so your relay is still clicking? Try fully splicing it into the wire or make sure you spliced the correct wire into the ground wire. Hopefully it works again for you
FishingWithTy I opened up the lower unit and apparently the guy that had it before me put it away with water in the unit from the bad seals and the barring is locked up tight as a drum I tried to move it and it crumbled apart I ordered a new kit 36 dollars if it clicks after the new parts I will know what to do thank you very much
I put them together and it still won’t turn
I really wish you would have mentioned earlier in the video that this disables your speed control so I wouldn't have wasted 5 minutes watching it.
mrreveen that’s my bad, I should’ve mentioned it first
Tyler with this fix is the pd at max speed
Chad Wachter unfortunately it will be stuck on max speed
Co pilot sucks lol
slowmoto oh yeah it does 😂
