@My Story dunno man, but as far as i know, physical have some problem againts big enemies non fatui due to how resistance work and elemental reaction involved is only 40% physical reduction at max while the infamous melt and vaporize goes as far as 150% till 200% damage increase.
It's simple, one is the Pyro Queen and the other the Cryo Queen. Both are great DPS characters and because they are different elements, you can't say one will always be more viable than the other. I mean, they are literally polar opposite elements!

Pls buff amber,imagin ganyu with shotgut deals more damage than a sniper, unfair. Need to make amber charge shot to be 400% at talent lvl 1 to be considered usable lol
The problem with amber is actually her elemental skill, it's just a bunny with a small chunk of explosion they need to change it with something else like Hu Tao's elemental skill (but the bow version) or maybe even more unique, also her burst are just stupid tiny falling arrow and it's actually nothing compare to others, I stopped using Amber as main because my Ganyu could do better, I honestly really really love Amber character design but she's suck, *mihoyo needs to buff Amber*
@@melon3442 her normal attack multiplier is low and base attack is low, plus most ppl said u gotta plat sniper amber and aim for the head, they need to make amber high risk high reward sniper, if they really intend to make amber a sniper then baron bunny is not really a problem since it can be a meatshield for you to aim properly. Hu Tao just looks more fun to play (speaking from experience), whacking mobs with casper and darting around the field with fiery butterflies takes skill but also huge reward and teaches you more about elemental reactions. but this is coming from someone who hates charge attacking with bows because the weird over-the-shoulder angle and you can get interrupted or miss, also the aura abilities work better in close range.
I have both of them. I would say hu tao is more fun because u can hit the sides of hilichurl shields and kill them. You can also have a satisfying charge or burst damage number. The problem with ganyu is that you need a good shielding character. Everytime I try to charge up my ganyu I get hit and have to run away
What if there are restrictions like in Pokemon where all are lv 50 Edit:like u don't use your artifacts and weapons you choose what you want to equipped and every artifacts have the same stat and lv, and also weapons
@@zra4191 it would still be dominated by hutao ganyu and zhongli because their multipliers are just insane compared to the others. For example, zhonglis shield is way way stronger than dionas, ganyus charged is already dealing ult level damage, and so on

You mean back when everyone was using non upgraded 3* artifacts with zero mora and unable to ascend talents past level 2 before hitting AR30-35 with their 3* Harbinger of Dawn? Yeah, I remember...it's inevitable people will break the game with enough time to farm god artifacts and obtain 5* weapons. Rather than focusing on numbers or DPS checks(abyss) they need to create more punishing mechanics that require you to build more defensively rather than just maximizing crit and damage substats(something like unavoidable party-wide DoT that requires dedicated healing and certain HP thresholds or die very painfully). Until they make enemies strong enough to one-shot your team if you don't build any defense then dedicated tanks/healers will not be meta(imagine C6 Noelle in that kind of meta though...)
Tbh they need to increase the difficulty, maybe make another World level because one shotting everything is fun at first but in the long term it gets boring real fast.

Moral of the story: Use whoever you want, whichever character is your favourite. A couple seconds of clear time here or there shouldn't deter you from rolling for a character you love just because X character does it better by some seconds. Or feeling bad because you got X character but Y character clears content by 2 seconds or so. Genshin is a single player game after all, its supposed to entertain you. I my opinion the thing that makes these two truly broken is not their dumb damage output but their capability to not only be dps but support the whole team. Ganyu with her 0 down time alt and Hu Tao giving the team that crit rate boost during her down time. The support capability makes them in my opinion very unlikely to get power creeped and replaced anytime soon.
They work extremely well with each other, and they both can be a sub to each other. Ganyu being a sub means hutao would be able to consistently melt, and hutao as a sub gives ganyu extra crit rate and also be a nuker due to melt.
@@aaronmarquez5596 It's not really underrated so much as that her investment level and output ratio really makes main DPS her undisputedly the best role. That said, I do run her as support for burst Tao and can finally bring my Keqing out to play on the other team.

@Taichi Villaruel since I've been playing with archers (fischl, ganyu) as my mains since the beginning, I've been habituated to this gameplay. and I play on my tab so it's bigger than mobile but not as comfortable as pc. and I don't have any problem playing with ganyu. rather I can charge shoot while running. on the other hand polearm and sword are the least favourite weapon to me since I can't feel comfortable using them. I don't have hu tao but I can say that I'm glad to choose ganyu over hu tao. both are insane and at the top of meta list as well as of waifu list but imo ganyu is pretty consistent if you don't have problem playing with bow.
I don't regret missing Hu Tao but joining genshin when Ganyu's banner was about to end and not knowing wtf is going on and what wishes were about pains me
I’m surprised at how close they performed to each other! As for my personal thoughts, hutao is better for large burst damage instances, but suffers in longer fights (if they existed in the game lol). Ganyu offers smaller burst numbers but much more consistent damage over extended periods of time.

@@murtaza6425 All of the things you mentioned can be cleared with hu tao easily because she still kills them super quick. As for abyss, she doesn't suffer that much because you just do your e, do your dashes and when your pyro infusion runs out, if everything is not already dead, then you just do the bursts/e of your other supports and by the time those are done, hu Tao's e is back so she can basically always have that pyro infusion so it really doesn't matter if it's a long fight.

@@Cal_Night i agree xiao is harder to build, excluding 5 star weapons the dps weapon for him is only the Deathmatch and Blackcliff as f2p Deathmatch is not an option ofc, Blackcliff is quite a big trade, Prototype isn't bad but less dps

Excluding 5 star weapons, best 4 star weapon for Hu Tao is Dragon's bane when playing with Xingqiu, even 3 star weapon like Black/White Tassel is a viable weapon for her too for artifacts Hu Tao is lot easier to build because comparing to Ganyu she needs 4/4 Wanderer Troup or 4/4 Blizzard, farming 4pc set with very good stats is extreme. While Hu Tao even just a 2/4 Crimson witch set and Wanderer Troup or etc is already enough to make her good

that raw cryo dmg that ganyu does is just insane and the fact that she does all that without even getting close to the enemy yields a lot of benefits(let's not forget about that taunt),not saying that hu tao is less tho,but she's one of the easiest if not the easiest character to build and do insane dmg with and that's one of her strongest points,btw man great great vid as always! much love !

Ganyu and Hu Tao are both heavy damage dealers, but they are good in different situations. Ganyu's E gathers enemies around it and sets up her insane charge shot. More crowd controley. Hu Tao is just a crazy pyro missle shooting off all over the place and honestly, much better for single target damage.
Both are broken to be honest, its just that ganyu is more easier to set up than hu tao and it really depends on the players for them to perform even better. Also whale is a whale can't even do it like that even if I got both of them lol
yes! play style really matters as well. although ganyu is probably a bit more broken than hu tao, i use hu tao more cause i prefer melee over ranged attacks even though i have both pretty well built :D
@@omarjafar846 If were talking about "who can deal the most damage in a single dps window without supports" i'd argue xiao is the best out of the three, but overall Diluc,Childe,Ganyu and Hu Tao is still better than him due to having access to crazy elemental reactions, but i still like xiao the most cause he's fun :D

So far the most peaceful comparison video from iwtl, almost no one got maximum butthurt in the comment section unlike other dps comparison vids (lmao) Glad to see both excel in their own way, as expected from our top tier dps. Clap to iwtl for awesome content. Pulled Ganyu & Hu Tao probably the most grateful thing i got in Genshin, and now i can reach 36* in abyss with budget build thanks to them. A thing special about ganyu is that when most people are going for the one shot, they often use the ult of a character but with ganyu they use the charged shot However, because her ult isnt an all in one, she may be slower at damage dealing because the charged shot takes a little time (although very small).
Both are overkill, I’ll go for hu tao c1 since I have ganyu at c0 already but I recommend ganyu more bc f2p weapon options are amazing and she has comfy / or a high damage team and she can work as support in the future and we don’t have any good free to play cryo dps but we have amazing pyro dps like xiangling
I love these types of content. But I will choose Ganyu over Hutao as a F2P no matter what. Cos there are a lot of factors to make Hutao good, Managing her Hp, having Staff of Homa. But on the other hand, I followed your advice and have Cocogoat, even at C0, with prototype crescent R1, she doing very well in freeze comp. 👍
@Ariana Chilumi Ultimately, the Meta Build for her dmg is all about Crit Dmg, on having C6. C1 is nice to have but its dmg is still very lack luster in Spiral Abyss. Me Being a F2P, its not viable to gamble away Primo Gems to try for C1. While that being said, i would rather try for 1xPity Venti, if fail, at the very least the next pity will be a guarantee Banner char, and it will be more worth to pull for ZhongLi. Its all about managing our resources. ^^
I agree thst Hutao c1 is great, but definitely with the help of shield. Take the shield away, it will not be fun. Sometimes players just assume all Have the same sets of chars. And I’m only trying to say, her being stand alone in spiral abyss will be tough to survive. Maybe I’m wrong. But not until they try with F2P 4star spears.
@@playwelldowell8739 just do a lot of practice with hu tao, you can do floor 12 without shield at all, i alrdy do it as f2p c0 hu tao. And yes, its fun, for me at least (living on the edge in the game is amazing)

Literally no point in damage numbers exceeding 200k, very few enemies have that much health at level 100. Still, the dopamine hits when I see big numbers are appreciated
Before watching the video, i would have to say at C0, Ganyu is superior due to just how reliable Frostflake arrow is. Hu Tao is crazy powerful, and a blast to play, but at C0 she is a glass cannon and is mainly good for that 7 second burst. Meanwhile, Ganyu can take out most enemies in one to two shots, even with bad artifacts
I came here to decide who to use my primos on for their re run I’m probably going for ganyu since I already have pyro dps but if I win 50/50 for ganyu I’ll try to get hu tao as well

@@estr4591 Klee main here, I am pulling for Hu tao (complete f2p) and here’s why. First off, I think her play style is extremely fun, even more so than Ganyu. Keep in mind these are all my own opinions. Especially on mobile, so despite me rocking an amazing wanderer’s set, I just don’t think ganyu is worth it. I love the character, the design, and the unique build. I don’t mind difficult pyro domains because I don’t mind a little difficulty for my favorite character.
I really wish I could decide between Hu tao and Ganyu... They're both amazing but I only have enough wishes for one guarentee. I have perfect sets for both of them, but I don't know which one to use xd After this video, I think I'll be going for Ganyu though. Wish me luck!
I think that C6 Hu Tao is slightly better than C6 Ganyu but C0 Ganyu is way better than C0 Hu Tao because Hu Tao without constellations has serious stamina issues plus she suffers way more with her E on cooldown. Meanwhile, C0 Ganyu is very consistent and she doesn't rely on skill nor burst damage.
Personally it depends, for speedruns hu tao is waaaaaaay better for whales since she can one shot easily, but ganyu is more well rounded and foolproof imo. After all hu tao really lacks aoe, ofc this doesn't matter for one shots but otherwise ganyu can pull ahead depending on the situation. Both are still top tier dps though, and the differences in clear times are so minimal it can be neglected.
@@Badkhela preference. Ganyu is far and away my favorite character to run around with. Doing nearly 50k damage without reactions every 2 ish seconds is fun to me
Depends. I have them both at c0 biS weapons r1 and I much rather prefer hu tao since she can eliminate enemies faster than ganyu. The problem with ganyu is that you just gotta get that aim correct for every single shot. While aiming she's very vulnerable. And since I don't play with any shielders. Hu tao doesn't have any problems. She can simply pass through enemies for evasion, and helps me regenerate hp as and whenever I wish, which in itself is a high damage shot.
I enjoy watching this type of speed running abbys. I got ganyu this time in limited banner rerun. hope I can earn more primo to try pulling on her weapon.
I have them both with Amos Bow and Staff of Homa. Ganyu feels stronger to me. But prolly becausw my Hutao talents are low because childe boss won't drop me the mats.
@Charlie Rader yeah. And she can use 2 Es. So she can hit 2 chargeless arrows. Most enemies lose at least more than half of their health after those two shots if not already dead. 😂
@@dajjalkid the game need something like "boss raid" but not multiplayer. Example, a boss with billions HP, so people can try to deal as much dmg as possible in 60-90s.
Ganyu is a beast.. Personally I think she is the best dps in the game.. Just wait until mihoyo release a Pyro character with a big aoe Pyro damage that can stay on the field for a long period of time (just like ganyu ult).. Ganyu will be the true monster!
Honestly Hu Tao has the capability to one hit every boss in the game with 2 mil damage. No one else comes close 2 mil. And like 200k every second. She is Broken. Ganyu is too, I think Hu Tao has slight edge tho
I mean yeah, in this video ganyu’s overall time was better than hu tao’s; plus her melt comp got a faster time than hu tao’s vape comp in the abyss 12 gauntlet. So it’s not even opinion it’s just facts that ganyu is better, not sure why people are replying with opinions when the numbers are right there lol
Hutao designed as Burst DPS, Ganyu is more towards consistent DPS output. With current content being too short to even run a proper DPS race (besides 1-shotting everything), it's hard to tell who tops over the longer run cycles. But that's a race if Genshin ever introduce 5-10mins boss fights (doubt it cause Mobile). DPS will always fluctuate depending on so many factors, however we can be sure both Hutao and Ganyu are both very strong characters for what they do, hopefully even balanced close enough to each other as shown in this video. So play whoever you like.
since u asked, i'll have to say ganyu is better, not only from your numbers, but also because she has better AoE as a DPS/carry and better E and Q as a support. And a weakness with a carry is that when a new carry comes you, you eventually have to bench them, and Ganyu's E and Q makes her less likely to be benched in the future.
@@blahblahsuperanon hmm. the problem i see with Hu Tao as support is that if she does burst support, she can't reapply AoE Pyro effectively, which means u would need another pyro aura support. so her viability as a support is still similar to her viability as a dps, since she is viable as long as everything remains killable in 1 burst rotation (because her charged spam vaporize is similar dps to her 1 rotation burst). on the other hand, because u can so easily burst spam with ganyu, and her AoE is so huge (plus she can CC enemies with E like keeping huge enemies inside Venti's Q with her E), Ganyu is all of the following: CC/burst spam/AoE/good aura if paired with sucrose/venti's Q/ok aura if standalone. and ganyu works much easier with elemental absorption as well, since u get aura for whichever element u absorb (with good dmg), since ganyu's Q is on-field continuous for 15 seconds, and your carry is also continuously attacking, so it doesn't matter which element gets absorbed, u got good dmg for both and constant aura for either inside Venti's or Sucrose's Q. ganyu's Q is well known for benefitting greatly from venti's Q if the opposite element is absorbed. if using ganyu as a support, it is also great for your main carry. she is truly a hybrid dps/support, unlike hu tao who is not truly a hybrid. on the other hand, because hu tao's Q is single hit, u should not elemental absorb pyro before her Q if using her as a burst support. this means u would elemental absorb hydro/cryo, which is not good for your carry. else, u would need some extra steps to set up for hu tao's burst, then set up elemental absorption for pyro after hu tao's Q (but again, hu tao would only work for 1 burst rotation). and what's even easier with ganyu is that u can also mix in a hydro support/aura, since pyro can melt/vaporize whichever. in addition, u don't even need pyro because u can shatter with geo or claymore, or pyro claymore. ganyu is just a true hybrid unlike hu tao which is mainly dps (hu tao's crit is mainly just to improve her rotation to better than childe rotation, not really a significant support design).

i prefer ganyu in the overworld by a long stretch for grinding the map. she has the same advantage as when she is faving dvalin, the fact that she requires almost no set up, can snipe pretty small mobs down 1 hit, and 200mora elites or 600mora elites in 3 to 4 without needing to waste time closing the distance, and snipes hurlchurls off towers means she's shaves almost an hour off a full map clear 9at least my full map clear) compared to any other character including hu tao. she makes my 23 daily 600 mora elite run so painless to do.
Ganyu’s playstyle is definitely easier, got lucky and pulled an Amos bow so walnut is kinda a sub dps for frost enemies and kinda hard to keep track of her damage numbers as she does attack fast and I have to manage hp before a q
@@vietster1141991 oh hu tao is very simple. just pop the e, do zoomies, switch to other chars for bursts/E's on cooldown, switch to hu tao, press E, more zoomies djhsdhfhjsdf
@@murtaza6425 she does have only 6% chance to be better than hu tao and its really easy to get hit when not using freeze ganyu. Hu tao > Ganyu for not having to spend hours trying to get that 6% chance and hoping to not get hit bcuz dodging will increase the time by quite a bit.
@@IamAmygdala dodging is not that hard because ganyu has range and you need to use shielder on both because there squishy? Also hu tao has way many caveats like stamina management at c0, health management, has to go in directly in the fight so more chances of straight up dying and she has her main damage in ult and skill so if the water tide ever comes again she’s screwed because the time of her abilities is extended while ganyu can launch consistent damage regardless. Also ganyus easier to build and has comfy play styles which hu doesn’t have or she can go full on damage Ganyu > hu tao imo
@@murtaza6425 I have both C0 HuTao and C0 GanYu, but I feel HuTao is better than GanYu. Maybe because I have Homa for HuTao but no Amos for Ganyu. But I think GanYu damage also will not increase too much after having Amos Bow. So most likely HuTao is still better than GanYu after GanYu having Amos Bow. In my opinion, HuTao > GanYu
@@jefffan3384 Homa for hu tao is a huge upgrade, also not to mention the fact that your most likely not looking into the advantages of ganyu and are fighting single target enemies. Ganyu is 1: Future proof as she has the ability to support. 2: There are no good F2P cryo DPS but there is xiangling a pyro dps who basically invalidates hu tao in everything that isnt single target. 3: Your hu tao has Homa, a Homa to hu tao is a huge upgrade but most people will not be able to get a Homa and then there hu tao is gonna be nowhere near as good as the homa ones compared to ganyu with an Amos who is great but the prototype crescent is 0.5 - 15% behind Amos only so it isn’t a huge make or break. 4: hu tao excels in single target and that’s likely why you feel “ hu tao > ganyu” but the thing is there are more AoE enemies then single target enemies in abyss ( abyss is the only hard content in the game, basically nothing else matters because there isn’t a timer ) so Ganyu is generally better. 5: Ganyu can do amazing raw damage without Amos bow whilst hu tao always needs xingqiu so you can’t free up xingqiu for other teams. In my opinion Ganyu > Hu Tao Homa makes a difference my guy

Ganyu is better when it comes to dps since she can consistently deal insane damage without melt and have 100% up time on her ultimate while Hutao needs vapor to deal good damage and her elemental skill has a pretty long cool down which means u need a sub dps for her. So basically Hutao can’t deal insane damage alone while ganyu can work by herself at anytime and any moment.
Let’s see based off what I see off whales I’ve see. Hu tao do 95k each charged attack and she can attack very quickly now she does have her cooldown which could make her dps lower but I feel like if we just compare her papillo I feel like hu Tao has the upper hand in dps when it comes to when she’s in her state
When it comes to bosses hutao is the best dps, That hutao downtime is pretty much non-existent, when you switch to xinqiu and zhongli, and back to hutao.
Ganyu is just more future proof and consistent 1: she can be at range 2: easy to build as freeze and very comfy or if your looking for damage over comfiness then she can deal insane damage as melt ( arguably even better then hu-vape ) 3: she has a lot of AoE which is way better then single target 4: extremely easy to build with crit rate ( passive 20% crit rate ) , crit damage ( ascention around 30-50 crit damage ) and cryo damage ( 20% from passive 2 )bonus built into her kit 5: she can support very well so automatically she will be future proof, because if her damage gets powercrept ( which it won’t as mhy as shown in there results ) that means hu taos damage gets powercrept, depending on what the character is hu tao could become absolutely lacklustre because there’s a better dps while ganyu could be a staple in freeze damage teams 6: Ganyus bis are from standard so easy to get and she has an amazing f2p option which can reach levels of 5 star and it’s not gacha like hu taos dragonsbane 7: doesn’t use the basic xingqiu support so it can go to your hu tao/xiangling whatever your using on 2nd team

@My Story dunno man, but as far as i know, physical have some problem againts big enemies non fatui due to how resistance work and elemental reaction involved is only 40% physical reduction at max while the infamous melt and vaporize goes as far as 150% till 200% damage increase.

It's simple, one is the Pyro Queen and the other the Cryo Queen. Both are great DPS characters and because they are different elements, you can't say one will always be more viable than the other. I mean, they are literally polar opposite elements!

The problem with amber is actually her elemental skill, it's just a bunny with a small chunk of explosion they need to change it with something else like Hu Tao's elemental skill (but the bow version) or maybe even more unique, also her burst are just stupid tiny falling arrow and it's actually nothing compare to others, I stopped using Amber as main because my Ganyu could do better, I honestly really really love Amber character design but she's suck, *mihoyo needs to buff Amber*

Hu Tao just looks more fun to play (speaking from experience), whacking mobs with casper and darting around the field with fiery butterflies takes skill but also huge reward and teaches you more about elemental reactions. but this is coming from someone who hates charge attacking with bows because the weird over-the-shoulder angle and you can get interrupted or miss, also the aura abilities work better in close range.
I have both of them. I would say hu tao is more fun because u can hit the sides of hilichurl shields and kill them. You can also have a satisfying charge or burst damage number. The problem with ganyu is that you need a good shielding character. Everytime I try to charge up my ganyu I get hit and have to run away
Ganyu's e abilities is decoy solely made to continue with her charge atk why don't you use that it's not good as shield but works decently
The Reason PVP doesn't exist in Genshin Impact.

You mean back when everyone was using non upgraded 3* artifacts with zero mora and unable to ascend talents past level 2 before hitting AR30-35 with their 3* Harbinger of Dawn? Yeah, I remember...it's inevitable people will break the game with enough time to farm god artifacts and obtain 5* weapons. Rather than focusing on numbers or DPS checks(abyss) they need to create more punishing mechanics that require you to build more defensively rather than just maximizing crit and damage substats(something like unavoidable party-wide DoT that requires dedicated healing and certain HP thresholds or die very painfully). Until they make enemies strong enough to one-shot your team if you don't build any defense then dedicated tanks/healers will not be meta(imagine C6 Noelle in that kind of meta though...)
Tbh they need to increase the difficulty, maybe make another World level because one shotting everything is fun at first but in the long term it gets boring real fast.

Moral of the story: Use whoever you want, whichever character is your favourite. A couple seconds of clear time here or there shouldn't deter you from rolling for a character you love just because X character does it better by some seconds. Or feeling bad because you got X character but Y character clears content by 2 seconds or so.
Genshin is a single player game after all, its supposed to entertain you. And you get the most entertainment when you use characters you love

Hu tao carried me through the game and my team no regrets crowning her. Plus her playstyle is really fun and she's easy to build (for me at least)
I my opinion the thing that makes these two truly broken is not their dumb damage output but their capability to not only be dps but support the whole team. Ganyu with her 0 down time alt and Hu Tao giving the team that crit rate boost during her down time. The support capability makes them in my opinion very unlikely to get power creeped and replaced anytime soon.
Ganyus skills are underrated as a support. I use her as charged shot carry 95% of the time but in F12, she's a beast in a quick swap comp
They work extremely well with each other, and they both can be a sub to each other. Ganyu being a sub means hutao would be able to consistently melt, and hutao as a sub gives ganyu extra crit rate and also be a nuker due to melt.
@@aaronmarquez5596 It's not really underrated so much as that her investment level and output ratio really makes main DPS her undisputedly the best role. That said, I do run her as support for burst Tao and can finally bring my Keqing out to play on the other team.

@Taichi Villaruel since I've been playing with archers (fischl, ganyu) as my mains since the beginning, I've been habituated to this gameplay. and I play on my tab so it's bigger than mobile but not as comfortable as pc.
and I don't have any problem playing with ganyu. rather I can charge shoot while running. on the other hand polearm and sword are the least favourite weapon to me since I can't feel comfortable using them. I don't have hu tao but I can say that I'm glad to choose ganyu over hu tao. both are insane and at the top of meta list as well as of waifu list but imo ganyu is pretty consistent if you don't have problem playing with bow.

I’m surprised at how close they performed to each other!
As for my personal thoughts, hutao is better for large burst damage instances, but suffers in longer fights (if they existed in the game lol). Ganyu offers smaller burst numbers but much more consistent damage over extended periods of time.

@@murtaza6425 All of the things you mentioned can be cleared with hu tao easily because she still kills them super quick. As for abyss, she doesn't suffer that much because you just do your e, do your dashes and when your pyro infusion runs out, if everything is not already dead, then you just do the bursts/e of your other supports and by the time those are done, hu Tao's e is back so she can basically always have that pyro infusion so it really doesn't matter if it's a long fight.

for artifacts Hu Tao is lot easier to build because comparing to Ganyu she needs 4/4 Wanderer Troup or 4/4 Blizzard, farming 4pc set with very good stats is extreme. While Hu Tao even just a 2/4 Crimson witch set and Wanderer Troup or etc is already enough to make her good

Ganyu and Hu Tao are my 2 main dps in spiral byss as well. Made my spiral abyss experience easier than before =)
Ganyu and Hu Tao are both heavy damage dealers, but they are good in different situations. Ganyu's E gathers enemies around it and sets up her insane charge shot. More crowd controley. Hu Tao is just a crazy pyro missle shooting off all over the place and honestly, much better for single target damage.
Both are broken to be honest, its just that ganyu is more easier to set up than hu tao and it really depends on the players for them to perform even better.
Also whale is a whale can't even do it like that even if I got both of them lol
yes! play style really matters as well. although ganyu is probably a bit more broken than hu tao, i use hu tao more cause i prefer melee over ranged attacks even though i have both pretty well built :D

A thing special about ganyu is that when most people are going for the one shot, they often use the ult of a character but with ganyu they use the charged shot
However, because her ult isnt an all in one, she may be slower at damage dealing because the charged shot takes a little time (although very small).
Just got hu tao now I'll be saving for ganyu so I can CRUSH the abyss with them and venti 😈

Both are overkill, I’ll go for hu tao c1 since I have ganyu at c0 already but I recommend ganyu more bc f2p weapon options are amazing and she has comfy / or a high damage team and she can work as support in the future and we don’t have any good free to play cryo dps but we have amazing pyro dps like xiangling

I love these types of content. But I will choose Ganyu over Hutao as a F2P no matter what. Cos there are a lot of factors to make Hutao good, Managing her Hp, having Staff of Homa. But on the other hand, I followed your advice and have Cocogoat, even at C0, with prototype crescent R1, she doing very well in freeze comp. 👍
@Ariana Chilumi Ultimately, the Meta Build for her dmg is all about Crit Dmg, on having C6. C1 is nice to have but its dmg is still very lack luster in Spiral Abyss. Me Being a F2P, its not viable to gamble away Primo Gems to try for C1. While that being said, i would rather try for 1xPity Venti, if fail, at the very least the next pity will be a guarantee Banner char, and it will be more worth to pull for ZhongLi. Its all about managing our resources. ^^

I agree thst Hutao c1 is great, but definitely with the help of shield. Take the shield away, it will not be fun. Sometimes players just assume all Have the same sets of chars. And I’m only trying to say, her being stand alone in spiral abyss will be tough to survive. Maybe I’m wrong. But not until they try with F2P 4star spears.

Literally no point in damage numbers exceeding 200k, very few enemies have that much health at level 100. Still, the dopamine hits when I see big numbers are appreciated
Before watching the video, i would have to say at C0, Ganyu is superior due to just how reliable Frostflake arrow is.
Hu Tao is crazy powerful, and a blast to play, but at C0 she is a glass cannon and is mainly good for that 7 second burst.
Meanwhile, Ganyu can take out most enemies in one to two shots, even with bad artifacts

First off, I think her play style is extremely fun, even more so than Ganyu. Keep in mind these are all my own opinions. Especially on mobile, so despite me rocking an amazing wanderer’s set, I just don’t think ganyu is worth it. I love the character, the design, and the unique build. I don’t mind difficult pyro domains because I don’t mind a little difficulty for my favorite character.
I really wish I could decide between Hu tao and Ganyu... They're both amazing but I only have enough wishes for one guarentee. I have perfect sets for both of them, but I don't know which one to use xd After this video, I think I'll be going for Ganyu though. Wish me luck!

I think that C6 Hu Tao is slightly better than C6 Ganyu but C0 Ganyu is way better than C0 Hu Tao because Hu Tao without constellations has serious stamina issues plus she suffers way more with her E on cooldown. Meanwhile, C0 Ganyu is very consistent and she doesn't rely on skill nor burst damage.
Personally it depends, for speedruns hu tao is waaaaaaay better for whales since she can one shot easily, but ganyu is more well rounded and foolproof imo. After all hu tao really lacks aoe, ofc this doesn't matter for one shots but otherwise ganyu can pull ahead depending on the situation. Both are still top tier dps though, and the differences in clear times are so minimal it can be neglected.
But ganyu is boring as heck to play. I skipped ganyu and have no plans to roll for her even thos she is op like hutao

Depends. I have them both at c0 biS weapons r1 and I much rather prefer hu tao since she can eliminate enemies faster than ganyu. The problem with ganyu is that you just gotta get that aim correct for every single shot. While aiming she's very vulnerable. And since I don't play with any shielders.
Hu tao doesn't have any problems. She can simply pass through enemies for evasion, and helps me regenerate hp as and whenever I wish, which in itself is a high damage shot.

I have them both with Amos Bow and Staff of Homa. Ganyu feels stronger to me. But prolly becausw my Hutao talents are low because childe boss won't drop me the mats.

@Charlie Rader yeah. And she can use 2 Es. So she can hit 2 chargeless arrows. Most enemies lose at least more than half of their health after those two shots if not already dead. 😂

yeah, this is why the comparison is meh. Once the fight lasts longer than one minute, the difference between their dps becomes large.

@@dajjalkid the game need something like "boss raid" but not multiplayer. Example, a boss with billions HP, so people can try to deal as much dmg as possible in 60-90s.

Honestly Hu Tao has the capability to one hit every boss in the game with 2 mil damage. No one else comes close 2 mil. And like 200k every second. She is Broken. Ganyu is too, I think Hu Tao has slight edge tho
I mean yeah, in this video ganyu’s overall time was better than hu tao’s; plus her melt comp got a faster time than hu tao’s vape comp in the abyss 12 gauntlet. As a player who has both Hu Tao and Ganyu I see this as an absolute win👍
Hutao designed as Burst DPS, Ganyu is more towards consistent DPS output. With current content being too short to even run a proper DPS race (besides 1-shotting everything), it's hard to tell who tops over the longer run cycles. But that's a race if Genshin ever introduce 5-10mins boss fights (doubt it cause Mobile). DPS will always fluctuate depending on so many factors, however we can be sure both Hutao and Ganyu are both very strong characters for what they do, hopefully even balanced close enough to each other as shown in this video. So play whoever you like.
They’re both better than anyone else. Specially when they are on the same party. Literally an overkill party lol.

since u asked, i'll have to say ganyu is better, not only from your numbers, but also because she has better AoE as a DPS/carry and better E and Q as a support.
And a weakness with a carry is that when a new carry comes you, you eventually have to bench them, and Ganyu's E and Q makes her less likely to be benched in the future.

@@blahblahsuperanon hmm. the problem i see with Hu Tao as support is that if she does burst support, she can't reapply AoE Pyro effectively, which means u would need another pyro aura support. so her viability as a support is still similar to her viability as a dps, since she is viable as long as everything remains killable in 1 burst rotation (because her charged spam vaporize is similar dps to her 1 rotation burst).
on the other hand, because u can so easily burst spam with ganyu, and her AoE is so huge (plus she can CC enemies with E like keeping huge enemies inside Venti's Q with her E), Ganyu is all of the following: CC/burst spam/AoE/good aura if paired with sucrose/venti's Q/ok aura if standalone.
and ganyu works much easier with elemental absorption as well, since u get aura for whichever element u absorb (with good dmg), since ganyu's Q is on-field continuous for 15 seconds, and your carry is also continuously attacking, so it doesn't matter which element gets absorbed, u got good dmg for both and constant aura for either inside Venti's or Sucrose's Q.
ganyu's Q is well known for benefitting greatly from venti's Q if the opposite element is absorbed. if using ganyu as a support, it is also great for your main carry. she is truly a hybrid dps/support, unlike hu tao who is not truly a hybrid.
on the other hand, because hu tao's Q is single hit, u should not elemental absorb pyro before her Q if using her as a burst support. this means u would elemental absorb hydro/cryo, which is not good for your carry. else, u would need some extra steps to set up for hu tao's burst, then set up elemental absorption for pyro after hu tao's Q (but again, hu tao would only work for 1 burst rotation).
and what's even easier with ganyu is that u can also mix in a hydro support/aura, since pyro can melt/vaporize whichever. in addition, u don't even need pyro because u can shatter with geo or claymore, or pyro claymore.
ganyu is just a true hybrid unlike hu tao which is mainly dps (hu tao's crit is mainly just to improve her rotation to better than childe rotation, not really a significant support design).

Technically and theoretically, Ganyu aoe is as far as the arrow can go.
i prefer ganyu in the overworld by a long stretch for grinding the map. she has the same advantage as when she is faving dvalin, the fact that she requires almost no set up, can snipe pretty small mobs down 1 hit, and 200mora elites or 600mora elites in 3 to 4 without needing to waste time closing the distance, and snipes hurlchurls off towers means she's shaves almost an hour off a full map clear 9at least my full map clear) compared to any other character including hu tao. she makes my 23 daily 600 mora elite run so painless to do.
i have both since my sole reason to pull is waifus i prefer ganyu but both are really good
Ganyu’s playstyle is definitely easier, got lucky and pulled an Amos bow so walnut is kinda a sub dps for frost enemies
and kinda hard to keep track of her damage numbers as she does attack fast and I have to manage hp before a q

@@murtaza6425 she does have only 6% chance to be better than hu tao and its really easy to get hit when not using freeze ganyu.
Hu tao > Ganyu for not having to spend hours trying to get that 6% chance and hoping to not get hit bcuz dodging will increase the time by quite a bit.
@@IamAmygdala dodging is not that hard because ganyu has range and you need to use shielder on both because there squishy? Also hu tao has way many caveats like stamina management at c0, health management, has to go in directly in the fight so more chances of straight up dying and she has her main damage in ult and skill so if the water tide ever comes again she’s screwed because the time of her abilities is extended while ganyu can launch consistent damage regardless. Also ganyus easier to build and has comfy play styles which hu doesn’t have or she can go full on damage

@@murtaza6425 I have both C0 HuTao and C0 GanYu, but I feel HuTao is better than GanYu. Maybe because I have Homa for HuTao but no Amos for Ganyu. But I think GanYu damage also will not increase too much after having Amos Bow. So most likely HuTao is still better than GanYu after GanYu having Amos Bow.

@@jefffan3384 Homa for hu tao is a huge upgrade, also not to mention the fact that your most likely not looking into the advantages of ganyu and are fighting single target enemies. Ganyu is 1: Future proof as she has the ability to support. 2: There are no good F2P cryo DPS but there is xiangling a pyro dps who basically invalidates hu tao in everything that isnt single target. 3: Your hu tao has Homa, a Homa to hu tao is a huge upgrade but most people will not be able to get a Homa and then there hu tao is gonna be nowhere near as good as the homa ones compared to ganyu with an Amos who is great but the prototype crescent is 0.5 - 15% behind Amos only so it isn’t a huge make or break. 4: hu tao excels in single target and that’s likely why you feel “ hu tao > ganyu” but the thing is there are more AoE enemies then single target enemies in abyss ( abyss is the only hard content in the game, basically nothing else matters because there isn’t a timer ) so Ganyu is generally better. 5: Ganyu can do amazing raw damage without Amos bow whilst hu tao always needs xingqiu so you can’t free up xingqiu for other teams.

Ganyu is better when it comes to dps since she can consistently deal insane damage without melt and have 100% up time on her ultimate while Hutao needs vapor to deal good damage and her elemental skill has a pretty long cool down which means u need a sub dps for her. So basically Hutao can’t deal insane damage alone while ganyu can work by herself at anytime and any moment.
Let’s see based off what I see off whales I’ve see. Hu tao do 95k each charged attack and she can attack very quickly now she does have her cooldown which could make her dps lower but I feel like if we just compare her papillo I feel like hu Tao has the upper hand in dps when it comes to when she’s in her state
When it comes to bosses hutao is the best dps, That hutao downtime is pretty much non-existent, when you switch to xinqiu and zhongli, and back to hutao.
Ganyu is just more future proof and consistent
1: she can be at range
2: easy to build as freeze and very comfy or if your looking for damage over comfiness then she can deal insane damage as melt ( arguably even better then hu-vape )
3: she has a lot of AoE which is way better then single target
4: extremely easy to build with crit rate ( passive 20% crit rate ) , crit damage ( ascention around 30-50 crit damage ) and cryo damage ( 20% from passive 2 )bonus built into her kit
5: she can support very well so automatically she will be future proof, because if her damage gets powercrept ( which it won’t as mhy as shown in there results ) that means hu taos damage gets powercrept, depending on what the character is hu tao could become absolutely lacklustre because there’s a better dps while ganyu could be a staple in freeze damage teams
6: Ganyus bis are from standard so easy to get and she has an amazing f2p option which can reach levels of 5 star and it’s not gacha like hu taos dragonsbane
7: doesn’t use the basic xingqiu support so it can go to your hu tao/xiangling whatever your using on 2nd team
