Tom Aspinall (born 11 April 1993) is an English professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Heavyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion. As of 16 April 2024, he is #13 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.

Let's not forget:
-multiple PED violations
-multiple run-ins with the law outside the octagon
-arguably lost to Reyes
-notorious eye-gouger in a lot of his earlier fights.
-demanded 15 million dollars to fight Francis, and sat out for 3 years waiting for him to leave.
-arguably given a huge lay-up with the Gane fight since (as Ngannou showed) Gane has zero ground game to speak of. Plus Gane fought afraid.
-is actively ducking and snubbing the interem champion so he can instead hold the entire division hostage to fight an old, inactive Stipe who hasn't won a fight in 4 years and is mentally-checked out of the sport.
-Refuses to relinquish the belt despite a catastrophic injury that will take a year to repair, again opting to hold the division and deny the rightful champion his chance to prove himself.
-Will declare that he's the HW GOAT because he beat an out-of-prime Stipe (who got beheaded by Ngannou in his last fight).
Who cares. And he is still the GOAT. Get over it. Cope.
@@stephenstuckey Any fighter who actively ducks contenders that are difficult matchups to instead fight cans, even going as far as waiting for them to fight out their contract and leave the organization, is not a GOAT. Curb your fanboying. There are better pound for pound fighters than Jon Jones.

Jon's disdain when Tom asked him for a face off is exactly why i cannot stand him. Imagine thinking it's absurd to want a face off with the champ when you are the interim champ and should be unquestionably in line for the next title shot. I know crazy right?

Aspinall is the scariest heavyweight of all time.. Yes far scarier than Francis. Tom can beat Jones anywhere. He could submit him, he could outbox him or he could just knock him out in 30 seconds.

I was lucky enough to catch Tom's first fight in the UFC. His first knockout. I was actually at my mother's house during that first fight and she freaked out... I was also there for his second fight and i told her she needed to watch this guy, and he did it again. There has never been a fighter that I want to see succeed more.

In the UK, for some strange reason, we call adrenaline "butterflies" .. so, we give it a negative connotation as if it is fear. Tom saying "fear" imho is the same as him saying "butterflies" or adrenaline. THAT'S really what it is, ADRENALINE! And if you don't feel that before ANY sporting event then you will not perform to your best. So, you can interchange Tom's use of the word "fear" with "adrenaline," and people will understand this better imo. Great video, as always.

Butterflies is excitement in a good way, I still say adrenaline when it comes to being nervous or excited. Which are the same emotion with different circumstances. I haven't said I've got butterflies or "belly jumps" for years though. Just adrenaline skelping me.

Maybe not that he doesn’t deserve one, it’s more that he has no chance being mid fourties’ and haven’t fought in 3 or 4 years.
Think about it if Ngannou was still champ and they were going to fight for a third time. At his age, regardless of how great he is, another knockout like he took from Ngannou last time might kill him.
I don’t think Jones is as dangerous an opponent as Ngannou would be for Stipe, but I think the outcome is just as certain. There are more talented, more deserving fighters to go the next shot at the belt.

Aspinall is fantastic, Gane was a relatively easy win for Jones. Aspinall is relatively underrated still in some fans eyes but not here, moves like a welterweight. Class all round fighter with respect. A young man with a grown mans attitude.
one day you people will realize there is a reason why heavyweights dont practice or train to move like welterweights.... so tired of people talking about gane and aspinall as if marginal quickness is going to compensate for lack of fight iq. we are shown time and time again that 'moving like a welterweight' has yet to make a meaningful difference in hw

@@BiggieTrismegistus agreed. Pavlovich stocks were a bit overvalued leading up to that fight and now they're a bit undervalued. Aspinall is way more experienced at the top level. people weighed an obvious favorite against an unknown and chose to overestimate the unknown because it's exciting. if Pavlovich had won his path would be a meteoric rise similar to Pereira, that excitement blinded people. but he still has a bright future in HW if he becomes more defensively sound.

There was so much marketability in Ngannou’s incredible story & freakish KO power & the sidelining Aspinal devalued the UFCs HW division. But what a guy Aspinal is. ‘Top bloke’ lol. Perhaps the criticism of how he markets himself is warranted. His respectfulness, honesty & genuineness is such a breath of fresh air to me. 1-We know he’s that good. 2- Opportunities are coming. = no need to add Bs like Everybody Else seem to be copy& pasting these days. I Love It. I hope he stays the way he is. I’m sick of all the cattle (even 2020s Connor) trying to be 2010s Connor McGreggor. Be Who You Are Today. Never someone else.
