Thank you for teaching us about the magnificent Douglas Fir trees. Looking forward to spring and being able to taste the new growth.
that was incredibly wonderful!!! i was tuned innn. thank you. the douglass fir holds a beautifully integral part of my memories of moving out to the west coast; i'll never forget that first feeling of seeing and smelling them.
Really love this channel! I hope you keep creating more videos on herbs and their applications in daily life.
This was super helpful. I've been meaning to learn more about trees in my area because I know they can be edible or medicinal if nothing else. So I'm very happy to learn about this.
Wonderful information. Thank you for sharing! 🌿
known to me as
cool Christmas trees
o and the aroma !
absolutely Heavenly
VERY INFORMATIVE AND SHE PRESENTED IT VERY WELL. DOES THIS TREE GROW ONLY IN THE WEST COAST?
Thank you so much for the kind words! The variety of Douglas fir featured in this video, coastal Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is native and thrives best in moist, mild climates on the west coast. The counterpart to coastal Douglas fir, Rocky Mountain Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga macrocarpa), would be more likely to be found and/or introduced outside of the PNW region, as it is far more cold tolerant than coastal Douglas fir.
I've never heard of it being called Blue Spruce, but i have heard the term Oregon Pine.
One question.
Which variety is more commonly used as Christmas tree stock on the east coast.
Do they use the giant variety or the smaller of the Douglas Firs.
Ours never seem to get too big, but that may be the climate conditions and beneficial organisms in the soil.
Hi there, great question! The most common variety of Douglas fir trees sold for Christmas trees is typically coastal Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), as it grows faster than Rocky Mountain Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga macrocarpa). However, both varieties of Douglas fir can be sold as Christmas trees, so it'd be best to ask the farmer which specific variety of Doulgas fir they grow and harvest.
I absolutely love 🌳 🌲 trees. The more scientific names are difficult to remember. I'll stick with Douglas fir. I love redwoods!
What properties does these needles have of the Douglas fur?
Hi there! Douglas fir needles are known for offering immune system support and antimicrobial properties. 🌲
