@Orias well when anyone says rts it pretty much means cnc, starcraft, and then my favorite twist on it total annihilation, supreme commander. Your right we haven't really seen any big twist on it since supreme commander which took the biggest step forward and then planetary anhilation. I agree we need to see the next step in rts gaming evolution but the problem is who's going to bring it?
@@peterc504 consider a go at forged alliance forever. this is a community driven continuation of supreme commander. it's got a pretty good player base. it's balanced, yet diverse. currently the best rts out there imo. I disagree on the need for a next step in rts gaming.
@MikeProductions1000 I tried most of the ones you mentioned but couldn't really get into them...really only liked red alert series, starcraft games, warcraft games, Ta,supcom, pa was cool for a little while...star craft and war craft series are still the best when it comes to balance and several diff races and ta, supcom are best for a more epic grand rts war..
haven't played those yet, but why don't you try Gray Goo or Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak to get a dose of RTS gaming. I think those games are in this style
Anyone felt like this is more polished than other RTS games from 90's? The animations and the way you can control units felt so much better... even KKND2 is worse in that aspect. Also the unit limit was pretty high i remember when the AI from 3 teams started to attack at the same time and you saw them flooding the map going for your base... good times
Someone should revive the franchise with a brand new KKND game but with modern sprite graphics, like the recent C&C remaster and modern game mechanics. I think it would be pretty awesome. Or maybe just remaster the originals? :)
Not using the Giant Beetle exploit...very honorable. Usually that would be the only unit I built. Spam right click on a different enemy and it wouldn't have to reload it's acid attack. It will fire again right away.

Games today are of better quality than ever. The problem is that we as gamers just got more and more picky and therefore also judge games much harder. And then there’s the whole nostalgia aspect😊
I know I already said it for the survivors campaign but I have to say it again for the evolved campaign... The messages written in the briefings are so funny! 😃 What a treat! 😄
I remember this was my favorite RTS game in my childhood besides Warcraft 2….I’m about to buy this shit on steam and play it again. It was really ahead of its time.
It is insane how much better KKnD was than KKnD 2. I remember first time seeing this game as a kid was like Christmass... jaw drop down to the basement.
I remember playing both games and i bought kknd2 on ps1 and the skirmish maps where cut about 20% or so. I was disapointed really hard. The videos in the mission briefing were great.
Always wondered why Giant Scorpions were so bloody expensive, stat-wise they are lower then anything in that tier, but seems like they do burst damage? Was kind of good versus hordes of inf and tanks. Also noticed you killed your own scorpions a few times because you parked them too close the enemy structures, at least they should have resistance to own acid you would think.
The Evolved units are a bit weird - you have the sidecar and monster truck, but they're pretty weak compared to the scorpions. Personally, I found it easier to build a load of shotgunners and scorps to swarm the enemy; beetles are ok, but they damage your own troops, and crabs are really too slow, awkward and expensive to bother with.
Hehe thats some old school retro :) good old times :) ...best tactic? multi infantry spam of various nature...infantry blob destroyed everything due to target saturation and AI focusing on single one target one by one :P
Ahh, yes, the childhood memories I have of this game... Frustration without end but also the euphoria when finally beating a challenging level. Well, I don't know if it would still be challenging for me today, but I can tell you that 9-12 year old me certainly had quite a lot of trouble with some levels.
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays Huh, that's a strange design decision. I would assume that the Evolved warbeasts would be somewhat weaker than Survivor war machines, but compensate through being able to regenerate after gaining veterancy.

Loved this game and its successor, Krossfire. In this game, Evolved vehicles are superior to Survivors whilst Survivor Infantry is superior to Evolved. Build an army of Snipers and you'll just rinse everything.
Has anyone played the version of "Krush Kill 'N Destroy Xtreme" from gog.com? This game looks like fun I want to make sure it's the same game I'm seeing in this longplay.
Apparently it's a sequel to this with 20 more missions, 10 for each faction. Using the same engine and stuff, there is very little information about this game.
It's amazing how bad the graphics both for gameplay and cinematics were for kknd2 compared to kknd1. If they didn't have the budget, why did they bother making such a technically inferior sequel?
Why to choose this over C&C 1? I always saw this inferior, clone. Maybe for RTS fanatics, when they have played C&C enough and still have more time for RTS?
