If Contact was their send off, this is their last transmission floating through space.
Thanks for everything, Daft Punk
i am a man i cannot cry, I CANNO-
For me Horizon is them looking back at Earth after successful take off while I Feel it Coming is the last transmission from outer space. And maybe unofficial passing of the torch to The Weeknd. With After Hours he might have proven he's worthy
Ah red vs blue, that was also fantastic but it's spiraled into oversaturation.
yep, contact was the bombastic ending to an incredible series of films the took us all on a journey we won't ever forget. This is the song playin while the credits roll man. So long space robots...
@@yeahthatsright33 oh man, it's tough... :(
fun fact for those wondering why this is japan exclusive. Japan tends to buy american albums early rather then wait for the japan release because they take a bit longer to come out in japan and they cost a bit more, so to make japan not feel ripped off they throw another track on the album.
Well, that and Japan can appreciate good music. Lmao
Then they should've put it on the $40 vinyl also.
seamac206 fo that it's too late, but the could bring this song on a single vinyl! I'd totally buy it!

@@olivier3875 It's crazy ! What a gift... especially during this period !
i just found this as well... RAM being probably my top 2 albums all time
this sounds like they just mashed up sounds from a few of the songs off the album so im not totally mad but im also excited to know about it :)
@@demonandy3572 A little bit for the Rhodes (piano) sound and for the slided guitar.. but the bass line is terrible, so deep 🙂
I can't believe I'm just now hearing this lmao
I can't get used to the idea that I'll never see a Daft Punk concert
One of my life's regrets
Same, brother. Same.
I waited all 2017... I was 17, hoping it would be my first, I cried in December when I realized it wasn’t going to happen. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t realize it would come to this.
I watched the 2007 concert, I miss something I never had...
Same.... but as we say here in brazil, hope is the last one to wither!
This is the saddest part to me...

To think, this was the last, non-collaborative track released by Daft Punk before they broke up. I think this is reflective of how the Bots were unsure of what the future would bring, looking off into the unknown “Horizon.” The rock-ish, Pink Floyd-style of the track almost taking them full circle to their Rock and Roll roots.
Yes indeed, there is a resolution to accept an impending end about this song..but a horizon generally represents something new (???).
@@rupowell2821 its possible, but It dont need to be like that

The ending credits of 5555 is an oversight as it is a song of its own like a Daft Punk remix of their own songs that many didn't payed attention to but reddit just ignores when pointed out.
@Arc'tryx He said he considers this new to him because he never knew it existed until now, not that it's literally newly released. And the phrase is "break it to you" not "break it up to you."
Make sure you haven't missed some of their pre-daft punk side projects e.g. thomas bangalters solo releases, Stardust and more....

This almost feels like a sequel song to Nightvision from Discovery, as well as a touching farewell. Goodbye, Daft Punk, I'll miss you more than anyone in my life.
This and Contact... what a way to go out. Peaceful, hopeful, and futuristic in ways we still can't understand just yet. They also sound kind of tired, like they just really want to relax. But hey, now they can rest. The robots have earned that rest! (Yeah, they had some future songs following RAM, but these two songs can be considered their finale.)
It's a goodbye from the robots, but it's possibly a "see you around" from Thomas and Guy-Man themselves. Now, they're free to be human after all.
Which song they have following RAM??

@@jaredbarton6161 honestly it could be interpreted three ways... contact being successful atmospheric entry and this being them stepping out to explore an alien world... or contact being their ship burning up Columbia shuttle style in entry and this being their memorial on earth... or contact being a miscalculation and they skip off the atmosphere never to land at all and this is like you said them drifting into space never to return.

I always heard their music as a kid. I just got into them recently as of the past few months. As a 2000's kid, it was hard to find an identity for a while. Daft Punk being timeless not only helps me be more content with that, but I realize the sheer importance of life. How nothing lasts for ever. There isn't a moment to hesitate. I will be listening to them today in tribute. Whoever you are, if you're reading this, no matter how different you are from me. Don't let this life beat you down to where you feel you can't get up. Because that's all it is. A feeling. So strive forth as your best self every day. Problems are only a product of circumstance.

This song feels like you’ve been taking to another world, and you’ve been given the choice to either stay or go home, and you watch the sunset before you make your decision.
I think many fans discovering this now rather than when RAM came out is fitting. After Contact, they have slowly been drifting off into space and Epilogue was the final message from them. This song was the message hidden in plain sight, resurfacing after years upon years which would signify their end, like an interview talking about what someone will do when their career is done. Although Daft Punk may have ended that does not mean Guy Manuel and Thamoas Bangalter will stop making art. And I am excited to see what the future will hold.

I first heard this song start playing in a youtube mix I had on in the background. It was a Saturday near the end of the school year, and the feeling of summer coming was in the air. I was sitting on the hot asphalt of my driveway working on repairing an antique bike I'd found in the town dump. There was a light breeze, and the sun was just starting to set. I remember the way the golden light of the sunset looked on the grass as it filtered through the leaves of the trees. I don't know how to describe it, but everything about the world just felt sort of right.
David Bowie would have sounded good on this
I was thinking it kind of sounded like his style...
Ok a daft punk and David Bowie collab would have been too awesome for humanity, shame it will never happen
Drop my cell phone down below.... someone just take an acapella of that track and add it.

Peace, Love, Tranquility.
