My # 1 is John Carpenter’s Halloween mainly because it’s set within the holiday, the protagonist is a babysitter, and Michael Myers has always been one of my all-time favorite horror slasher!

    This is great! I think it is interesting that, she seems to lean towards the "home invasion" type of horror and you seem to be slanted on the side of "science fiction horror". I have 4 grown kids and one of them loves to talk movies with me, whenever we talk on the phone(he lives 16hrs away). We have our 5 year old grand daughter here for 2 weeks and she is watching Mickey Mouse right now, but this video has me wondering what we will find in common to talk about, when she has grown up. I'm a new subscriber and am enjoying your show!

    I love the Last House On The Left remake. It was one of the first horror films to get me into the genre. I had watched other horror films growing up (mostly cheesy slashers during sleepovers) but this one was so raw and intense. It really motivated me to take horror seriously as a movie genre.

    • @colinbaldwin313
      @colinbaldwin313 2 года назад

      It really does stand out from the "cheesy slasher" pack. It so easily could have fallen into the same trap, but the fantastic acting and flawless plotting make it feel so grounded. It's a really underappreciated movie; I think that people tend to lump all remakes into one forgettable pile.

      And to think I've still only seen it the once. But it did it's job man! Scared the crap out of me. @TheBestDaddy Bishes I LOVE Critters mate. That film started my love of cinema.

    • @BryanLomax
      @BryanLomax 7 лет назад

      I actually reviewed Gremlins over Christmas and found it to be a little overrated. It's still good but I think a big part of that film for most people is nostalgia. Take that away and you've actually got a pretty poor script which doesn't always make any kind of logical sense. I think Critters is much better constructed. And while I agree that Critters 3 is a bit of a turd, I actually quite like the fourth film as a guilty pleasure. Not a patch on the first two mind!

    A lesser-known case that inspired The Strangers, and it's far more terrifying than Bertino's film. Known as the Keddie Cabin Murders, this horrific quadruple homicide took place in California in 1981 and remains unsolved to this day. Unsolved murders are fairly common, but the sheer brutality of the case makes this one particularly unsettling, even more so when you fall down the internet rabbit hole of police and investigative reports, crime scene photos, and rumors of potential culprits.
    Bay of Blood is one of the first slasher films it also came out in 72.

    Great idea to do some videos with your daughter like this. Not much for most of the new horror films that are coming out these days, but It Follows is one of the better ones. I didn't really like the third act all that much but the rest of the film was pretty solid. Here's my
    Top Five List
    #1. Halloween (1978)
    #2. Friday The 13th 1-7 (I love them all immensely so I am just lumping them all together as one here)
    #3. Blood Rage
    #4. Sleepaway Camp 1-3 (once again I adore them all too much to leave any out)
    #5. Demons

      @DrumdumsOfficial  7 лет назад

    • @retrogirl191
      @retrogirl191 7 лет назад

      Blood Rage is super awesome. It's just a really fun and campy 80's slasher. I own the Arrow bluray which just looks fantastic, but you can actually watch it here on youtube. Here's the link if you're interested ruclips.net/video/k2oI-fk3nB8/видео.html And no I actually don't have a Facebook account. I have been trying to avoid creating one because I'm afraid it will end up being too time consuming. I always feel bad though when someone invites me to join their group and I tell them I can't. So I might just go ahead and create an account. Haven't quite decided yet.

    I just love these videos with your daughter! She is awesome. I'd happily watch a spin-off channel with the 2 of you, and/or Jessie on her own channel. I can tell that she is a woman with a lot to say, but she's also a fantastic listener. I get the feeling that she is intuitive & well read, too. As I said on the previous video I watched with the 2 of you, thank you, Lee. Thank you for being my favorite RUclips channel (aside from Cayleigh Elise...if you haven't seen or heard of her, I implore you to check out her channel! She does the most respectful, honest, accurate, heartfelt presentations of unsolved murders & my favorite is her series called "Nameless," about unidentified victims of murder. She puts a lot of heart, integrity & compassion into every one of the cases she covers).
    I didn't plan to do a spiel about Cayleigh, but she came to mind as I was expressing that DrumDums is my favorite channel.
    Back to this: I love Jessie's list & your list! I'm also excited because, thanks to you guys, I now have a couple of (new to me) movies to add to my must-see list. I've not seen 'Return of the Living Dead,' nor 'Let the Right One In.' I so enjoy foreign films, and I'm always up for a recommendation of a great horror film.
    p.s. Levi is *soooooo stinkin' cute & precious!* I'd love to see that little furbaby in more videos, as well. I love animals more than most people I encounter! 🤷🏻‍♀️😆 Sad, but true!
