    How can crushed granite be stronger than quality glacial based aggregates? I'm not saying it is a bad product, but crushed rock contains microfractures--and glacial aggregate generally does not. Note also that glacial till typically contains a lot of sand and mud between rocks (expensive to separate). A glacial delta area is more appropriate as an aggregate source.

      Moreso a matter of preference form the asphalt contractors and DOTs we work with. Depending on the mix design of the asphalt.
