INSANE Lightning and NON-STOP thunder during tornado warning.

  • I've never seen lightning this intense. I don't think there's a moment when the thunder stops in this video! We get a lot of severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings where we live but the lightning as this storm rolled in overhead was the most intense I've ever seen. The black, low-hanging cloud-front that rolls in in the second half of the video is equally ominous.

    ABOUT US
We're a small town family with two kids who love adventures of all sorts. Whether we're hunting for the End Portal in Minecraft, building a DIY skatepark in the back yard, hiking or drawing together, we try to find the fun in it and make great memories. We've learned that "small town" doesn't mean boring! We love what we've got and we hope we can make other families smile, laugh and maybe take away a few ideas.

THANK YOU for no clickbaiting us! This was legit non-stop lightning. That must have been wild and eery experiencing live as it moved through.

Definitely wild and eery. We get our share of wild weather here. A bunch of years ago we actually had a tornado rip through. It toppled a huge black walnut tree from our back yard through my neighbour's roof!

I live it CT and back in july 1989 we had a storm like that with continous lightning and non stop thunder. The storm produced 3 tornadoes to the north of where I lived.

Usually, lightning that intense is produced by the volume of hail in the clouds.

We had that same thing in April 2020 when we had a tornado warning at night. There were continual lightning flashes in the very low clouds, even more constant than this video. There was a strange continuous rumbling thunder, had never heard anything like that before. The tornado touched down about 2 miles away.

Scary stuff, for sure. I hope everyone was okay. We actually had a tornado go through our yard (same back yard as this video) in 2016. Here's a link to one of the news reports... at about 30 seconds in, the reporter you see on the quiet street - that's our street. barrie.ctvnews.ca/environment-canada-confirms-tornado-touched-down-in-stayner-1.3120186

This is one of the very best lightning and thunderstorms I've ever seen. I live in Utah which is a desert. We measure rain in millimeters! I miss thunderstorms so much that I rely on the kindness of strangers like yu to post yur fabulous storm videos. Thank you!

Hi, Reedsville I was in the core of that storm about 20 miles southeast from your fliming location in your backyard and man it was bad and the worst storm ever we got and i got my wish come true during the afternoon from 5 years ago and with me being in the core of the storm everything around me was blinding downpours assorted with 100 mph streight line winds changeing directions from north to south and east to west over and over and over again and think that i got pea size hail at the same time with constant lots of non-stop cloud to ground lightning everywhere around me which occurs every 1 second per lightning strike which I think it is extremly rare for this event it's because of climate change we are in and also my power went out and thanks to the storm i ate spoiled on that day and got food poisoning which i am really surpise i did not get that sick is because i only got an upset stomach with mild diarrhea {not watery} with a little nausea and chills and it lasted 2 hours on this day since i am almost immune to everything in this world virus, bacteria, and after i was 100% much better.

Apologies for the late reply - we were camping. Those are very kind words - thank you. I only wish I'd started recording earlier - it was non-stop for a good chunk of time before I hit "record". Utah is an amazing place but so is Central Ontario - we get the full 4 seasons and every season has its own extremes, whether it's huge snow dumps, searing heat or crazy downpours. Still, that storm was more intense than most. Glad I was able to film and share.

Thanks for this clip, it was very enjoyable. Seeing the lightning through the trees is relatable. Also the sound of the insects tripping makes me think it was pretty warm that night.

As much as I love storms, I could not live in an area where every storm could become a tornado. I already have (diagnosed) anxiety, it would cause my love for storms to flip 180 real fast.

I miss the summers from when I was young. Almost every night there was a thunderstorm. And now.. we barely get one. And especially not insane ones like this one!!
Also always they say we get a bad storm where I live (Arnhem) and when it is almost here it always passes us 😂
Few years ago there was a tornado in Rheden (gld) and what I got was insaneeeee and scared me to dead. So although I like insane weather. I also hate it hahaha. Now preparing for the heatwave.

Simply not the case. I was sitting under a large overhang of my house to film the bad weather rolling in. I was at the lowest point available to me (my house doesn't have a basement) so the chances of the distant lightening being any danger to me was basically zero. And I stopped recording when the bad weather finally arrived. I didn't even get wet.
I was safely documenting an unusual weather phenomenon in our area. Next time, ask for the facts before you expose yourself as a presumptuous troll.
