Oh wow, did YDM 4 locos have the grunt to push a train up the braganza ghats? I heard that it was one of the steepest ghat sections in Indian Railways. BTW, I think it would have been a beautiful experience in meter gauge. I never experienced meter gauge (being a late 90s kid, most of the meter gauge lines were gone by the time I could remember any train journey).

Wondering about the length of the train. Last time I travelled by train was in 1998. I saw that my town has renovated the train station to accommodate current trains. It looks good.

I had made this journey way back in 1985. That time it was metre gauge. I traveled by the Gomantak Express from Miraj to Vasco. The loco was a YDM-4.

Actually Bhilai is my Hometown. I was Born and brought up there. After that I was at Indore for some brief period before settling to Bangalore
