  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy in this special trailer, as author Brandon Alinger visits the Lucasfilm Archives at Skywalker Ranch to research and photograph actual outfits and gear used in the classic films.
    The book features detailed histories and information on costumes for both major and minor characters, from Darth Vader to Tusken Raiders. Perhaps most significantly, however, are the photographs included. “They’re shooting things that have never been photographed in this way before,” Alinger says. As a result, the tome reveals exciting new visual details, and tells the story of how costume pieces were made and fit together to create the iconic costumes of a galaxy far, far away.
    Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy is available now from Chronicle Books.

    The force is strong with these costumes.

      Because they get more money with the book, and Star Wars collectors probably appreciate a book on such things more since they can find something quickly from there if the need arises.

      The book is published by Chronicle Books in the US and Titan in the UK. Also, Amazon will mostly ship anywhere.

      ISBN: 0810965674
      It's written by Trisha Biggar, who did the costumes, so it's got some great insight directly from someone who was involved with it. I forget if there's any good photos of both Kit Fisto's actually, as he's my favorite Star Wars character :P. I feel like it did a comparison of the two Kit Fisto costumes, but it's been like 8 years since I read it. They have some gorgeous detailed shots and accounts of Obi-wan's RotS costume though.

    +Star Wars should release official costume patterns for sale, such as the Imperial officer uniforms. I know a ton of people in the 501st would jump on it.

    • @JonathanG94
      @JonathanG94 10 лет назад +1

      Yeah that is sort true, though there's still an array of real costumes to be put in a book.

      On note of my original comment, there's already a similar book on the Prequel Trilogy. So I rest my case.

    You all hear about how much was stolen off set when they were making episode 4 that I'm happy to see anything survived. I'd love to see every bit of it in a museum, at least until all us fans died out.

    Why are they limiting it to just episodes IV-VI. Seriously stop breaking everything up already. If we must, can we please just divide it by the original 6 episodes, or the Anakin Saga, and the new films?

      I know what you mean. They act like the OT is something totally separate, but IMO, ALL 6 films are one COMPLETE saga.

    • @SeanSemanko
      @SeanSemanko 10 лет назад +1

      Marcelo Zuniga Very true, but one could also look at it also the rise, fall, and redemption of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. So in a sense, they are 2 stories and 1 story at the same time. That's what I love about Star Wars, everything can be looked at in many interesting ways.

    • @classic1413
      @classic1413 10 лет назад

      Marcelo Zuniga As more and more time passes the production gap between VI and I seems smaller honestly. VI was so much more advanced than IV its as close to I in technologically and scope, the gap between I and II seems bigger honestly. Not to go off on a tangent but I do see a lot that runs across all 6 of those though that really will separate them form the new ones. Take characters alone, all had Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda (except IV), and the Emperor. The Skywalker family were at the center. There will be some carry over characters in VII but I expect a new saga to start.

    • @classic1413
      @classic1413 10 лет назад +1

      ***** Ah I remember now, I stand corrected. I wonder why that did not have more to it then? would be cool to see a new edition of that with this material. That way you can see the full evolution of Obi Wan, the comparison of padme and her daughter, etc. on one book.
