I love your well-planned videos, but this was a treat, watching you answer questions on the fly. I could almost see the wheels turning as you considered your choices. I’m with you on the audio/read-along approach. I’ve made use of that a few times to get myself going on classics that were a little intimidating; it helps get me into the rhythm of the language and conjure the atmosphere and characters. Then I feel like I can take off the training wheels and finish up by just reading. I did that last year with Moby Dick, and it was a great experience.

I actually didn’t tag you because it reminded me a bit of your original A-Z Hot or Not rapid tag, which I’ve never done but really liked. I liked the rapid nature of it too.
Love this tag. How many books do you read at once? I usually can only handle one at a time. Maybe a non-fiction along with a fiction, but rarely. Happy New Year, Pat! Finding your channel was definitely one of the best bookish things to happen to me in 2024.
Thank you, Nina, for your support of my efforts here. I'm so glad that we've "met" this year. Please know how much I appreciate your kindness. I am usually reading three very different books at a time, usually because I am participating in several reading events at once. Additionally, I am almost always reading a poet as well. I think I got in the habit of reading like this even before booktube because I always taught three or four different courses at a time, so I was always reading three or four different books that I was teaching. Wishing you all that is good in 2025!

@@jenniereece1158 hi Jennie. Thank you for this lovely comment. I’m glad you’re enjoying my channel. I do keep a reading journal. It’s not terribly involved, but it’s a record of what I’m reading and some thoughts about it.
Pat, If you haven't read it, you might check out A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. It's about the various characters living in NOLA. I laughed so hard I cried in parts. It won the Pulitzer so it's an excellent read and one of my all time favorites.
Thanks, Melinda. It was kind of a relief to do this "rapid fire," which is not, by any means, my usual style! Hope you are doing well. Happy New Year, my friend!
When the demand is for rapid fire, unnuanced answers, I grow paranoid that there are "Have you stopped beating your wife?" style questions coming my way. These don't seem SO bad though. 😁 I enjoyed your answers! I guess that might be unusual in the grand scheme, but it's just paper, so I'm not sure how "weird" it is. 🤷♂️ Hope your 2025 gets off to a great start!
