I bought this amp specifically because it kept the feature to use eight AA rechargeable batteries. All rechargeable batteries have limited and diminishing lifespans, so I'd rather not be stuck years later with non-swappable internal batteries that are dying, taking forever to charge and can only last an hour. AA rechargeable batteries are very useful for just placing the amp wherever I want around the house, and for small jam sessions and small gigs where convenience and portability are a bigger priority than using a bigger amp. Also means I don't to have ever worry about having to find a nearby power outlet when away from home, nor worry if the batteries drain out in the middle of a long session because I can just swap them on the spot with a backup set of batteries.
hello, some suggestions about dual cube lx speakers 1. Many kinds of effects cannot be turned on at the same time on PC and mobile app, and many kinds of tone effects cannot be turned on at the same time. For example, if you turn on delay, you cannot turn on reverb, and if you turn on vibrato, you can no longer use chorus. It is recommended to update the software. It can be used on pc and app at the same time. 2. Regarding the pc-side editing software, when editing on the pc-side, you can completely separate the knobs that come with the speaker, and directly use the pc-side as the input of the soft effect of the speaker, which will be more convenient. Numerical input, so the adjustment will be more accurate. The boss needs to change his thinking. When connecting to the PC, all effects should be able to be used at the same time. When using the speaker independently, only the knob operation is limited. I really like this speaker, the sound quality is also very good, the above suggestions are based on the thr series speakers used by yamaha before, I think the effect of boss is better than that of Yamaha, but the interaction is really bad, I hope you can improve it as soon as possible , to improve the functions of PC and app, not just to simply map the speaker knob, I hope the boss will do better and better, this speaker is really good!
I agree. The editor software is underwhelming. I want to be able to use reverb & delay at the same time and this should be easily doable in the editor but it isn't. This lack of multi-FX is a real killer - they need to revisit this urgently.
Being Boss there’s no doubt the quality will be there. As a Blues Cube and many Boss pedals owner I know that. But for the price point I opted for the Positive Grid Spark Mini that gives you pretty much everything this has with an in built battery, Bluetooth connection and in the app delay/reverb are totally separate adjustable parameters. The Boss does have a looper which is a great feature although not worth the extra £110 I would have paid.
Got one yesterday it was ok then few hours later got the blue tooth adapter blew me away opened many of doors glad I listen to my intuition thanks Boss & the hold out was worth it.
is it true you can't use reverb and delay at the same time?? or is that something you could do with the app? SO many cool features of this amp, but if I can't use those two FX at the same time, that would be disappointing :(
Roland makes the Cube GX (I have one). It's a great amp and I'm looking forward to this Dual Cube, but why is it being released under the Boss imprint and not as a Roland Dual Cube?
First of all, I am a huge fan of Roland Jazz Chorus and their battery powered amps as well as Boss effects. On this particular amp. Why the AA battery compartment for an amp leaning towards home/streaming use? The Cube street EX also has the quick release battery pack which is very useful. I am always confused when new products come out and do not retain the best features of the previous products. But, I probably am not a typical customer. A built in looper is also great BUT, a ‘two pedal’ control is almost always desired/required for performers. I used these amps for busking and traveling light and being able to set up and play anywhere. AND because they are essentially 3/4 channel PA systems that can handle Mic, guitar, bass AND Aux sources all at once. Eventually I got rid of all my bigger wall outlet amps because the little Roland amps sound so good! I have owned several of the Jazz Chorus amps in different sizes, the Micro Cube, the Cube street and now use a Cube street EX, a Mobile Cube, and the Mobile AC (which lacks guitar modeling but the aux input has a volume knob which is great). I do not feel that any of these new amps would make me replace what I already have.
PLEASE HELP! how do I stream backing tracks wirelessly to this amp?? I have the blue tooth attachment, i have the app, but I do not see any way to stream music... which is pretty annoying since I bought that stupid dongle just so I could do this, and it doesn't seem to work. If there is a way to do it, how?
Does it have usb driver to allow it to be used both as an input and output audio device for the PC ? (The vox audio air GT does, the Katana does not). I can se myself replace my Vox to get rid of the ladies purse look, and perhaps also to add the looper.
Just 1 question, Ill be at home almost every tima I play it. It can be supplied with normal electricity, true? I don't want to be changing batteries in home. Thanks.
I don't understand where the tendency to lower the volume of amplifiers designed for playing on the street, for example, comes from? Why the minimalism in the number of channels/inputs? Why would anyone want a desktop amplifier that was intended to be a battery-powered street performance amplifier? The Roland CUBE Street EX with its 50W was completely sufficient! and a multitude of inputs.
Good question. Due to the portable nature of the product, it is beneficial to be able to quickly replace the power on the move. Internal batteries require a power source and quite a long time to recharge, that is not always ideal if you’re mid-performance or away from home, whereas AA batteries are one of the most common types of swappable power cells available. We also design our amplifiers to last longer than the life span of an internal rechargeable battery. We do recommend that if you plan to regularly use it on battery power rather than the AC Adapter, it is worth investing in rechargeable AAs.
@@BOSSinfoglobal Why don't you address the elephant in the room. Why are you charging for Bluetooth? This should be included at this price point. Sole reason why I will not purchase this. Pure unbridled corporate greed by way of a cash grab making people pay £40 for something that should be built in or included. If you look at comments on other channels across RUclips everybody is saying the same thing. The likely excuse you'll give that some might not need it doesn't wash either. Get it sorted.
I don't get your price point for these. These are more Expensive than a Katana 50. Making Bluetooth optional with no built in rechargeable battery is just poor design. You can buy an amp that does this and more for about half the price. Think you're a little bit optimistic and maybe need to go back to the drawing board 🤷

🤣 How about getting Boss engineers to work on providing an integrated expression pedal with the SY-1000 for no extra cost? GT-1000 gets an integrated expression pedal, why doesn't the SY-1000? 🤔
Just bought the Boss but having to return it as the MIc input dosen't work along with guitar input same time so no good for busking really is it? Oh and you have to buy batteries for it again unlike the rest of the amps on the market that have batteries built in and then you dont get any bluetooth unless you spend more, this is standard on all amps, get real Boss.
Looks and sounds cool but no way you didn’t include a rechargeable battery in 2022. Even if battery life is cut to 1/3 I’d rather have that than feeding this thing batteries constantly.
@@JohnnyMegabyteCanada still have to change them out and charge them separately vs just plugging in to charge and like you said “invest” in additional items on top of the $300 asking price.
