Agreed. Agro was the best thing to wake up to in the mornings as a kid before School. Then one morning, It was just Cartoon Connection without Agro, then Kochie. Awful. We want Agro back!
Agro footage is hard to find on RUclips because Seven Brisbane's archivist is a grumpy flog who gets his jollies out of hunting and taking people's RUclips videos down (unless he himself is in them). It won't be long before this one gets taken down too. It's sad, because these Brisbane pop culture icons will fade from the public awareness if they keep getting taken away. These shows should be kept alive by the people who made them popular in the first place - the fans.
Ahh so cool seeing this! It’s very rare finding any Agro footage now. Especially this early on, I love how relaxed they were. Also wondering who the woman is with Crikey and if she was a regular co-host/reporter? I don’t remember her.
I agree. This series is becoming as rare as hen's teeth to find. If I find any more, I will be certain to share them. Great fun series of my childhood past. I think that was Trudi. but can't be 100% sure. She wasn't in the series when they had the newer intro I think.
@@MrSimplesimon1987Trudi who? Anybody remember her surname? Or wasn’t it mentioned on the show, or anywhere else? Either way, I assume she left at the end of 1993 and was replaced by Terasa the next year.
apparently only selected episodes of the last 2 years exist on 1 inch tape and are in the NFSA, so if some one gets them from there and uploads might be one way to get around the 7 archives. either that or upload a full ep for a short time. if 7 are so protected then why don't they just put out their old shows on DVD and make a profit. they cannot really care if they wiped so much material in the first place.
I had no Idea that so much Agro was erased. I agree Channel 7 should release some DVD's of some of their older series. Probably fear they won't be profitable enough a cause. Sad Really. The archives are not the way to go. There are requirements to purchase from them. The most harsh one is you must have taken part in the cast or crew of the series. The other problem is getting copyright clearance from the production company which is channel 7 in this case. Also besides that, the cost per episode would likely be quite expensive. Back in 2011, I knew someone who purchased part of the series he was in and then it was $60 per episode. Probably more than that now.
@@MrSimplesimon1987 yes interesting. another show hi hello show has only 7 eps from 1986 in the NFSA. agro was on this too. alot of wombat/boris breakfast club wiped too. ch 7 just not interested in old shows and hard to deal with (not sure why they are-the material is so old now) one personal visit sticks with me in that they would not like me see the archive. if lucky the NFSA may be the way to see/ have these.
@@user-jj4sq6dr1n Agreed. Lots of series like this may never see the light of day again. As far as I'm aware, this is the only footage from 1993 online. I am hoping more will pop up. I would like to snoop around the Channel 7 Archives. They still hold some old series, but copyright clearance again is a real pain in the neck. The NFSA don't hold all episodes, but Channel 7 may still have some in their archives for use on specials and the like.I'd also like to see the beginning of A Very Agro Christmas. Most is on youtube, but not the beginning. Also the full 1992 theme would be a nice addition.
@@MrSimplesimon1987 what is left in the 7 archives is in the NFSA and very agro christmas is included. overall NOT alot. skase forced them to re-use tapes because he had no money to buy new ones. 7 sun coast would not let me see their archive and told me to try 7 brisbane-no thanks. one email from them was enough to put me off, so never went to brisbane.doubt sun coast has much of an archive. I think the oldest tape in the NFSA from 7 is peter and the wolf with rowena wallace from 1965
