I was literally smiling the entire time watching this. Your interviews with Moonshine are always not only very informative but also wholesome and fun. Jonatan's and Ludvig's reaction to Taeyong's rendition of their tag was so heartwarming!
This year I've grown to appreaciate Moonshine so much more, everything they've done has been so inspiring. I actually got over my fear of failure and picked up playing the piano once again, only because I really wanted to learn to play Deja Vu (and I did!), also at least five or six of their songs are in my top 30 of this year and I just can't imagine kpop without them

im really thankful that you guys (ReacttotheK) were able to conduct such interviews cuz i myself, although not really musically-inclined with any instrumentations, get really curious with all these production sound and process when listening to particular songs especially when hearing the instrumentals as well apart from the vocal and harmonies
Moonshine really have been (imho) POTY of the year (Producer of the Year). I may have come up with that term. But the number of releases, the high quality of ever single track, the awesomeness of the 'peak tracks'... What a year with Moonshine: Amazing songs, the hunt for the Moonshine-Tag and, last but not least, all them interviews with ReacttotheK. So I will just scream it into the ether of the RUclips comment section: THANK YOU, MOONSHINE!!! Btw, I did a function fit of past releases and I do expect to see 30(+-4) releases next year. ;)

When i first heard it, i was like “whoaaaa.” Moonshine, Kenzie, Adrian et. al. really worked hard and pushed boundaries when they created One - combine two different songs in different keys and whatnot. Umu - requesting for more content like this! We don’t usually hear from producers and writers that much... its time to learn more from them and appreciate the work they are doing Moonshine - if you are reading comments, looking forward to your next projects. Infinity is so good! One is not a bad song, by any means, but Infinity could've been such a song title track. I understand that SM Ent. didn't want Jopping 2.0 for Super One's title track, but Infinity is an amazing track that I think stands out more than Jopping

Amazing interview as usual, Umu! As a Swede who listens to K-pop, these interviews make me so proud to see fellow Swedes’ involvement in the sound of my favourite groups. Moonshine really killed it this year and Infinity is one of my favourite K-pop songs of all time. If you get the opportunity to interview them again in the future I would love if you got to fish out some information about the creative process for ”Deja Vu” from the Resonance album. I almost freaked out more about hearing the ”Moonshine” tag than seeing Mark back in squad. The song in itself has some references to 7Dream’s past and is very much about them coming together. Therefore, I would love to know if they knew they were going to write the first 7Dream track in two years or if it was picked up by SM after it was made?

Super successful mashup! It was funny when resonance came out everyone was wishing it would flow and sound more like one song (like “one”) than a disjointed combination of multiple songs, though it sounds like that’s what sm was going for 😂 Really agree though Super One is an amazing album! The only thing is I made a new tracklist so these 3 songs wouldn’t blend together so much in my head and balance out the rest more to my preference, but that’s just a nitpick based on personal taste.

Looking at taeyong the members who is actively involved in music production seems to have so much respect on them and their works said so much about how amazing moonshine production are. I really digging more combination between their creative works and nct’s distinct sounds and style.
My God! I didn't know Moonshine did Young, it's one of my all-time favorite SM Stations!! These days I'm just constantly finding out that all my favorite (SM) songs are either by LDN Noise or Moonshine lol Tysm for the hard work and banger music guys ❤
(Related, but kinda not?) With this information of SM literally wanting a non-mash-up-sounding-mash-up, I wonder if they gave the same confusing instructions to the mixer of NCT 2020's RESONANCE. I'm not sure if Kenzie (if she produced the mix like she did for "One") was just stuck between a rock and a hard place, but the mix could've been much more coherent, much like One or even Sherlock. Kinda disappointed SM didn't give the task of mixing those songs to Moonshine because I have no doubt they also could've done a great job. I like RESONANCE as it is, but I feel like it could've been much better.
SM did figure out a better version of Resonance by the time NCT did their KBS stage. It doesn't entirely eliminate the flaws, but it has fewer issues with undermining its momentum, and it adds a section in the bridge that ties things together pretty well, and it keeps everything that already worked in Resonance. I still think that a fully successful all-NCT song is going to have to be produced as such from the outset, not assembled from existing songs (like Resonance) or just an NCT U song with extra people around (like Black on Black seemed to be). But they do seem to have recognized how to make the mashup-NCT song work better.
I assume part of the difficulty is that no one has experience producing for a group the size of NCT (other groups seem to top out at around 13 members), so SM keeps doing workarounds that involve having people produce songs for more normal-size groups and then making them sort of work as full NCT songs. But they really need to find people (quite possibly including Moonshine) with the vision of what the potential of full NCT is.
It's pretty unfair in Resonance case. First, these 4 songs are too different from each other. Second, they need a final song to perform as 23 people, so it was mostly for the sake of performing. Plus, it was a nice wrap up for NCT2020, highlighting the main activities during this era (From Home had its own version already). Third, I think they wanted to mix 4 songs with a restriction like keeping some consistent parts of each song so some members can still sing on them. Imo it is impossible to make Resonance song sound coherent and smooth with such restrictions. They really tried to do the impossible.
i was really impressed with just hearing that one is a combined track, and now finally knowing the process of how sm ask moonshine to combine WITHOUT ACTUALLY CHANGING ANY OF THE TWO SONGS, AND MOONSHINE ACTUALLY REALLY DOING IT SO SMOOTHLY---- ack it's just so fascinating.
So thankful to see this, as an aspiring producing/recording engineer these type of interviews makes me want to work that much harder so I can work with tons of amazing producers and artists one day!

These guys need to know, infinity is literally a SuperM superhero song. It is musically epic. But I really wish they had ended it with the Monster+Infinity (One) ending. With Lucas rapping over it in One it was chefs kiss! Also Tiger Inside is like perfect.

I know combining songs together (especially when they are not completely similar) is a challenging task, but i didn't expect it to be this challenging. SM really put Moonshine to test! The result turned out great.
I've been following SM for years. After Kenzie and Yoo Young Jin, they are the producers I admire the most. The moment I see the name Moonshine, I say "here's a great couple". I love all the songs they've done so far. Please always shine from now on.
The transition in One I have to say did confuse and throw me off the first listen, because it felt like a complete 180 into another song. It took a few more listens for me to get used to it. I like it a lot now. So it’s cool to hear from the producers firsthand how and why One and its transition was produced the way it was. But now I’m too curious about what their original drafts of One with the smoother translations they originally wanted to do without SM’s input would’ve sounded like! Now I want that too! Lol

I used to think their jingle at the beginning of their songs said: Milkshake. And it always confused me-💀 like who is Milkshake? To this day I still can’t unhear it lol And I loved Young! I wish it wasn’t so slept on, it deserved more imo.

백현 영 노래도 굉장히 좋아했고 슈퍼엠 원도 좋아했는데 이분들 작곡이었다니ㅜㅜ 저도 슈퍼엠 앨범을 들으면서 어떻게 두곡을 한곡처럼 잘 어울리게 만들었을까 종종 생각했었어요 그 생각에 대한 대답을 들을 수있는 영상이어서 너무 좋았어요!

These guys need to know, infinity is literally a SuperM superhero song. It is musically epic. But I really wish they had ended it with the Monster+Infinity (One) ending. With Lucas rapping over it in One it was chefs kiss! Also Tiger Inside is like perfect.

The transition in One I have to say did confuse and throw me off the first listen, because it felt like a complete 180 into another song. It took a few more listens for me to get used to it. I like it a lot now.
So it’s cool to hear from the producers firsthand how and why One and its transition was produced the way it was.
But now I’m too curious about what their original drafts of One with the smoother translations they originally wanted to do without SM’s input would’ve sounded like!
