When you want to catch a skunk, you have to slowly walk up to it with a blanket in front of you so they don’t see you and then throw the blanket over the cage and let it go

We trap skunks all the time by mistake. Easy way to keep them from spraying is to put a dark towel or sheet over the cage and it won't spray.
Came here to say the same thing. Cover the cage, pick it up with no sudden movements then slow and gentle to the truck bed.

We have bears in Dillon sc but it isn’t many
A skunks rarely sprays if you try to release them but I believe they always do when dying just like we piss ourselves (I know it ain't piss)
Which is not really practical when you are trying to get rid of them arround a chicken coop.

Lmao my old dog loved cats he just wanted to smell their butt. So I was walking out in the field to the back of the property and there was skunk which my dog never encountered before. He said ohh kitty 😂 ran up on it and put his face inches away from that skunks butt and got sprayed so bad. He started rubbing his face in the grass so hard he was doing flips and rolls 🤣. I washed him with a full bottle of dog shampoo outside with the hose for about an hour or so. Did a pretty good job but he was kinda musty for a week or two 😂

😂 the skunk I laughed so hard. I was sprayed twice in my life. First time I was at work and went out to smoke a cigarette and being dark I didn't realize it was a skunk I thought it was the stray cat I was feeding earlier. Second time I came home after work after 11pm and it was munching on apples that fell from my apple tree. It took like 2 weeks to get smell off me.

When I was a kid living in Africa, a farmer who got tired of his fields being raided by baboons, caught one in a cage and prayed it with 'whitewash' then let it go, when it tried to catch up with the others they ran away, the more he tried to join them they kept running and the farmer got rid of them for months at a time with this method.

Another reason birds target skunks: when a skunks feet are not on the ground, he can't spray. So, when Mr. Hawk picks him up, he can't spray while the hawk is flying. And, by the time the hawk lands, ole Mr. Skunk is dead!

Hauling skunks off. I had 9 I live trapped. Slowly Covered the trap with a piece of carpet overlapping both sides and put it on my trailer. Took it off and released it. 9 skunks. Have pictures. Never sprayed. Like your videos. Very funny and entertaining!Cheers! Im in NC.
Bears actually are scared if you. Black bears run away most of the time if they sense a human. Just so you know

The answer is throw a blanket over the trap. Learned that when I lived in the U.P. Should have taken the trap to a secluded patch of woods or neighborhood golf course and let that skunk go. That single doe that came in had all the ticks on the back of her ears. Figure out how to set up a sprayer. Help her out! Good trick with the mirror.

Hawks and owls do have a sense of smell but not much of one. Throw a towel over it and it won't be too bad. Hang up a motion detector but instead of a bulb put a screw in plug in. Plug in a 6 amp charger and hook the leads to a horn. The detector goes off causing the charger to come on making horn go off. Bye critters just can't use it close to homes.
I have caught 2 skunks at once in that same type of trap. I once caught a skunk and transported it in my jeep. I put a bed sheet over the cage and carefully loaded it into my jeep and hauled it away. The whole time praying it wouldn't spray. Which it didn't
