    20:29 I am thinking if you bring the crown block a few blocks higher, making it the platform where you will fight the zombies. Zombies stand on them, but when they die, the loot bag falls through the crown. Basically you are not fighting the zombies on the pole anymore.

    • @ryanschulz6645

    I think a pretty simple solution to the original design with the ducts is to just give the zombies a path to run back around once they fall onto the ducts. The loot bags will drop down the ducts, and the zombies will just loop back around to the fighting position. They'll still sit down there in destroy area mode sometimes, but a sledge turret could also help with that

  • @adamcasper2143
    @adamcasper2143 День назад +5

    Instead of having the loot bag duct multiple blocks below the fighting platform… what if it was actually part of the platform? If you replace the horizontal poles out front with horizontal crown 3-ways, oriented like a frame, the bags will fall thru but zombies will not as demonstrated. Instead of three ducts side by side just put one duct, 2 blocks deep, like you had it, but only in the middle. The zombies can still fall off the sides if they bunch up and they can’t land on the duct because it’s connected to what they fell off of. Just an idea… I’m always looking for ways to collect bags early because our horde night is longer than the 20 min bag time limit. Thanks! Loved your coffee shop series!

    My idea based on what you've done here. You were nearly there at 20:30. Instead of solid blocks right above you, put in scaff ladders so you can shoot through them, and then the loot bags just slide down to you. As for screamers, I'm thinking a trigger plate and a cage under a trap door to hold them. You step on the plate when they are right there, they fall down into the cage that is under the access platform, and you farm them that way.

    Josh, I did see another youtuber make a base that does this exact thing (minus screamers, its just a loot bag catcher). He used a series of 1/8th blocks, the ones that are basically cubes but really tiny, and he alternated them like a checkerboard or something (I wish I could remember the exact orientation...) But basically, zombies run over the blocks because the gap is too small, but loot bags fall through into a pit you can build below. Try some blocks like that, work with smaller sizes and different orientations. Loot bags DO have a smaller hitbox than zombies can walk on, so just try to find the sweet spot.

    • @Schabziger
      @Schabziger День назад

      2nding this, it was CautiousPancake who made that one. To pile on to that, a 3rd creator, Erie Knight (hope I spelled that correctly) of the channel Psuedo Posse, made a pretty nifty screamer xp farm setup. If you combined those, along with swapping a few blocks like using the 0.025m pole + ladder setup and the God-tier crown molding blocks that Woodle, one could make a phenomenal crafting + xp/loot farm base that should guarantee to filter (most) screamers and loot bags to their respective areas, whilst leaving the rest to be slaughtered by players and/or automated traps as they see fit.

    In making ramp bases, I've constructed a gently sloping ramp with wedge60 blocks, with walls to the side that stop 1/2 block above the ramp (made with upside down wedge60 blocks). What happens is that when the zombies run up the ramp towards my fighting position, they knock zombie corpses and loot bags off the side of the ramp, where they collect for the end of horde night.
    You could do the same thing horizontally with half blocks.

  • @bsxpress007

    Simple fix, use a powered garage door with a motion sensor under the "kill spot" to retract when a zombie lands on it, should pull the loot in and the zombies fall off. Could use a tripwire as well.

  • @unclecuddles5232

    I feel like loot bags could possibly be caught in like an open air style basket. Something large enough to have zombies slip through but keep the bags off the ground like at the spot you put the chutes in. I do like the idea of possibly going robotics expert for the double sledges as a way of maybe dealing with any zombies that happen to stand on the basket.

  • @xackjackelmagicninja

    You could place a door laying horizontally in front of the barrier on the zombie side, that will hold both of the zombies and the bags. Once you have enough bags you could open the door dropping the bags into 2 shoots. Closing the door might cause the zombies to be forced from the block back up to the fighting position or out of the space falling to rerun the route.

  • @GeorgeWPrice

    If zombies are bunched up in a tight space they will push loot bags through scaf ladder and other blocks they can't fit through but loot bags can. You could also use sammy to knock zombies off of the chute area, or use garage door to drop zombies down after the loot bags go in the chute

  • @AstebrookeYT
    @AstebrookeYT День назад

    I'd suggest having Sammy knock them onto their own recurring path like how you started the video, except instead of knocking them into a blender you knock them into an isolated return path. Then you can let screamers through if you have a chance and let them just cycle while you handle their hordes. I'd be interested to see how you would design that.

  • @Dustyfogz
    @Dustyfogz День назад

    Two suggestions. First you could place a sledge turret by the top of shoot to knock zombies off. Or second you could put bars or something the zombies can't fall thru and make an underground pickup where you climb down center of your column and grab loot from below

  • @kenwoodward115
    @kenwoodward115 День назад

    use the duct against the bars instead of the 0.05 pole, they stand on it normally, die, drop bag and let it roll under your feet - remove the blocks you stand and fight on for the scaf ladders so you can just look down and grab them. only downside is they wont just fall off and rerun

  • @tulkasnomin4991

    Maybe an upside down blade trap under your killing window covering the area with the god blocks over chutes. Zombies that fall unto the chutes get diced but their loot still falls through into the chutes. Turn off the blade before going down the ladder to collect your loot.

  • @leenomedal-lafon5994
    @leenomedal-lafon5994 День назад

    If you make a bucket bag/zombie catcher a few blocks down from the top, that has a hole in the center, and also a way for the zombie after he falls to walk back up to the path, then living zombies will simply loop back up to you... the bucket hole in the middle allows the bags to fall into your chute. The trick is the catcher has to be far enough away from the base column so they cannot simply stop and start beating on the base - they are incentivised to take the path around and back up to get to you instead.. The bags fall, the zombies come back around.

    Also here's an idea for a zombie exploiting horde base: make a tower for yourself. Doesn't matter how you make it ju have it 15-20 blocks tall and make sure zombies don't have a path to climb it. Then a couple blocks from that make a second tower that's 5 blocks shorter than yours, I'd say suggest a 10x10 hollow tower should be right. This tower needs to have a path that zombies and animals can take to the very top of it. Wraparound staircase should be plenty good.
    Now the top of the second tower should be just flat... And that's it. The zombies will climb the second tower to try and get to your level and if they get angry they'll just smack here and there the smoll tower. While they're climbing and doing weird shit you're free to pick them off with guns and explosives.
    One small addition would be a couple two block pillars on top of the tower. This way the zombies will actually attack the pillars in an attempt to get even hier and make it even less likely for them to do any actual damage to the structure. Just as a flavor make with just cobble and see how long it lasts.

    Hm.. Loot bag collectors...🤔
    A door or garage door would be the way to go.
    Put the door or flap in a suitable frame on the outside so that the loot bags can't fall out, but you can still kill the zombies because they are standing on the door/flap.
    Put a roller door at head height that covers the width of the door/flap when closed. This gives you a small room with the bags, while the zombies have to wait in front of the door.
    If the roller door is closed, open the door, etc. so that the loot bags fall into a corresponding container or ramp underneath. Then close everything again, open the roller door and repeat everything.😊
    Greetings,
    Wally

    Instead of gathering loot bags right up close, or down at the bottom, how about a bucket that you can reach through some bars (from that lower floor you made), but the zombies jump off, because it's 2 blocks away from your base? Like a "loot bucket on a stick" concept?
    EDIT: Or have a sideways facing ramp down below, causing loot bags (or ragdoll zombies) to fall to a bucket on the side you can safely reach, but isn't a viable position to attack your base. Same "loot bucket on a stick" but with some added filtering, so fewer zombies kick the bags around.

    I have no idea if this would work, it is just an idea from the top of my head. Would it not be possible to have a pit at the bottom of the tower where the loot bags land, then roof that pit with a grid like block. One where the smaller loot bag can fall through into the pit, but where the zombies cannot? If that is possible, you could just extend the tunnel inside the tower to go all the way down to the pit level to pick up the loot, while the zombies run around on top.
    Even if the loot does not fall through the grid and instead lies on top, you might still be able to open the loot bags through the grid.
    Again, I have no idea if this is even possible.

    What about a second platform just above ground level with a garage door over it and a path back to the start for zombies so you can seal it off and have a segmented ladder in the core going to that room so you throw a lever and collect loot them back to killing? Does any of what I said make sense?

    You could wire up the doors, so that when one opens the other closes! 😁

    put the duct vent where the sledge is... so you fight them on the duct vent

    You're thinking about it the wrong way, Josh. Your duct system was great, you just need to keep zombies off of it. Why not use a sledge turret or a door system to knock the zombies off of it? 🤔

    Sledge-friendly molding blocks below the kill zone, and a small pit underneath those which is accessible via ladder?

    Lol. I was thinking, maybe screamers should be called Karen.

    Why wouldn't you put another god block under the fighting position so Zs get bonked off of the bag collection duct but the bags funnel in? might need to lower the collection area so you can funnel everything to a single block where a second Sammy can bonk. Would need the 2 turret perk though.

    What if you used a powered garage door? Have it closed while you fight then open it. do the bags stick to the door or just go through?

    Can you add a path back up from the "god blocks" to the main path to get the zombies to clear on their own?

    What about if you add a pathway from the ducts back up to just before the hatch, so they head back up to your level?

    They're going to have to do something about the screamers or everyone is just going to mod them out. I understand 5 crafting stations or automatic fire blasting spawning them, but I can't even move loot from box to box or run one crafting station without spawning 2-3 screamers now. It's ridiculous.
    A couple weeks of 1.0 and I just modded them out, I'm over and done with them.
