      Cohan. It is a very classic penny loafer that I have worn with jeans and I have worn with a shirt and tie. Personally, I think it looks more versatile. The horse bit looks really nice as well but I think it is more casual. I would wear it with a nice shirt and slacks but not with a shirt and tie or suit. I do not have the horse bit lofer yet but that will be my next shoe.. 😁

    How are these penny loafers holding up? Thinking about picking up the cohen loafers by Beckett simonon

      @@EsteemedImage i am thinking about the brown cohen. I own a pair of black oxfords already from Allen Edmonds. But I don't own any brown shoes yet. I'm just starting to gradually build my business/professional wardrobe. Overall, I must say I like the design of Beckett Simonon more in terms of loafers. When I end up buying one, I will go ahead and use your code! Thank you for making the video. Very helpful.

    This is probably the best review of the BS loafers. The only thing that could have made it better would have been more screen time for the shoes. Anyway, thanks, and you got a like and a subscriber out of this.

    Beckett Simpson or Allen Edmund? Any preference?

    • @EsteemedImage
      @EsteemedImage  3 года назад

      So unfortunately I don’t own any shoes at the moment from Allen Edmunds, so I’m biased to Beckett Simonon. I have however heard great things about Allen Edmunds. Which do you prefer?

      AE and BS are in 2 completely different tiers when it comes 2 leather quality and price. I would choose BS before going to DSW, JCrew, BR, or Cole Hann for there cemented construction offerings. Meermin vs BS is more realistic and even then Meermin. That’s not saying that BS wouldn’t make it in the rotation or that I wouldn’t recommend them. They are a good quality shoe for a tight budget.

    My guy! I think i love the Horsebit more. If I'm wearing a penny loafer I prefer more of a rounder toe like the Alden brand.

    I have a negative association with horsebit loafers, as they often make me think of finance or real estate bros with their "deal sleds," so I tend to gravitate towards pennies.
    Not so much a fan of a moccasin-esque silhouette with any loafer type. But I will admit that horsebit loafers can look very handsome when they have a more contoured toe box.

      Penny loafers are a great choice. What is your position on tassel loafers? They sometimes comes with a more rounded toe box instead of the boxier look.

      @@EsteemedImage my Meermin tassels are my favorite loafer right now! I don’t think tassels are for everyone as they’re a bit peculiar in this day and age, but for me they’re a fun way to signal my passion for sarotialism

      @@EsteemedImage Oh you definitely should! They're another heavy hitter in the $200 DTC range. If Thursday Boots is on the far end of the comfort spectrum -- both in terms of feel, but also familiarity to the American audience -- then Meermin is on the far end of the artisan/craftman geek spectrum in terms of details and styling. Beckett Siminon is between the two in that their lasts are much more contoured and euro than Thursday but not as much as Meermin.
