    Great video! Just replaced my switch; very easy to do! Dealer wanted over $900 to do this; said part was over $600! That sounded high, so I checked and purchased a genuine Toyota switch for under $200.

    Great Video, it was easier than you made it look. The hardest part was putting the two steering column pieces back together and that only took 3 tries. Thanks again for the Video.

    Having this same issue right now. Glad to know it's a cheap and easy fix, as with most issues on 3rd Gens! Thanks for the video!

    Thanks for the Video and help..The shop asked me for 450 dollars to change the switch, and it seemed strange and unreasonable to me. Now I see that I was right. The video of him is better than other more confusing ones that I saw before. Here is my like in support of your effort. Thank you very much for helping other people.

    Just bought a 2002 4 Runner today that’s got this problem 😳 but ya made it look like a simple out and in install , only a couple of tools , no hammer chisel or dynamite 💥needed 🤣. Thanks for posting 👍

    Thanks for this one! I went through the stalk replacement and my issue didn't go away. I tried my hazards and they worked so my searching lead me to a fuse. Pulled all the fuses under the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel and all looked well but when I put them all back I figured hey, might as well give it another whirl and lo and behold my turn signals work again! Lesson for me was try the fuses before spending $200 on replacement parts :)

    I got a 2002 Toyota 4runner SR5 and there are NO turn signals. What would be a good way to diagnose my no turn signal issue.
    1)Try removing and and inspecting fuses
    2) Replace flasher relay behind fuse panel.
    3)check hazard switch
    4) replace turn signal stock
    Any other ideas??????

    What tire size do you have? And also do you have a lift?
    Sick 4Runner!

      Hey! I appreciate that! It's just a Rough Country 3 inch lift. Tires are 33s (285/70/17)

    So my hazards don't flash either would that be a relay problem?

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  4 года назад +1

      Not that means you have another issue such as a blown fuse, wiring short or disconnected plug

    Can someone point me to a video of where I can find a fix the turn signal stays on when my lights turn on not the running lights but when I turn the head light on.

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  2 года назад

      Sounds like you have the positive wires for each potentially pinched together and sharing a signal. It could be in the switch itself and I would probably start there

    How much did the replacement directional unit cost?

    • @BtwilliasGarage

      I can't remember exactly, but I want to say $20 or $30

  • @iAmAlby

    Will this also fix the "buzzing" sound when using the turn signal? Mine will make the sound and not go away unless I do a micro adjustment but then it won't even blink

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  5 лет назад

      Most likely if the noise is coming directly from the switch itself. Is that the case?

    • @iAmAlby
      @iAmAlby 5 лет назад

      Btwillia's Garage I'm assuming so because it only goes off when I engage my left blinker and it doesn't go away until I reset it. Figured I'd clean the electrical part but it seems like replacing it may make more sense

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  5 лет назад

      @@iAmAlby I agree. Just be sure to buy the right one based on if you have or want fogs or not 👍

    • @BtwilliasGarage

      If I remember correctly it was $25 or $30 used. They are running low in stock from what I hear so you may need to pay $50+ on eBay
