14:29 I play guitar more than bass but if they're similar enough, a damaged neck would make the instrument unplayable, or at the very least, have a lot of buzzing when playing. I think Jeremy knew that so he made sure the Bass can still be played in gigs after being "customized" lol I'm pretty jealous, the bass has so much personality with its battle scars!
i might not be suuuper into paramore, only really ever having listened to "still into you" on the radio, but that song and hayley's appearance on zedd's song "stay the night" are still a huge part of my childhood. so seeing you have this is really really cool nonetheless!
I was an intern at a radio station during the initial Riot! Tour. We hosted a soundcheck/meet and greet with the band and some fans who won access. The band was nice but Josh seemed a bit frustrated/not super enthused during the actual soundcheck. It could have just been typical touring stress, but then everything happened a bit later with how he left the band, so who knows. I remember being at Warped Tour 05 in atlanta when they were playing one of the tiny independent stages. And the next year they closed out that same warped tour stop. I remember seeing the video of where they "reliced" this bass. Crazy I'm seeing a video on where it is now.
That's nuts dude, I love Paramore. I'm honestly kinda glad they beat it up because I would otherwise be way too scared to play it lol (and also it looks awesome)
i always wondered when you were gonna talk about paramore since ive watched alot of your history videos as a kid and kept seeing their album covers to represent what year you were talking about. awesome to finally see it!
As a fellow Paramore fan myself, I love this video! Getting to see an actual piece of Paramore history used being used and loved by a Paramore fan is amazing! I'm glad it's in the collection of an actual fan who's gonna actually use it the way it's meant to be used instead of just put in some investment collector's collection. Love the history lesson as well! Very fun video!
The 72 tele deluxe is definitely awesome, but I've always found myself wanting Josh's gold telecaster he used while touring for brand new eyes. He talks about it in his Fender Rack Review, it has a fake f-hole in it because he liked the look but didn't want to deal with the feedback.
Oh, you're the FootofaFerret Guy! I had no idea, Super cool you could get that bass, I'm also a super Paramore fan (tattoo and all) loved your videos, and the fact that you use the cd covers for the years haha
i am just learning ur a paramore fan and thats so cool to me cuz i LOVE paramore so much so im so happy to find this out! i cant believe that u have that!
that is how they are distinguished today correct, but interestingly enough the P bass was the FIRST electric bass guitar with frets so it’s technically true both ways lol. it’s precision bass because of the precisely intonated frets
The pickup is called a P-bass pickup because it was the pickup on the first electric bass guitar; the Precision Bass. The Precision bass was named that because it was the first mass-produced electric bass guitar to have frets on the neck, making it more precise to hit notes than a traditional upright bass which would've been fretless. That was the whole marketing thing for it at the time.
Rarest thing i own is a 1972 white fernandes strat also known as the lawsuit guitar. Fernandes basically got the pants sued off of em because they made an exact replica of a strat so fender forced them to chip off a piece of the headstock and i have one not many in existence
I so know this feeling that Foafy is gushing out in this video. I liked the inclusion of Paramore in Guitar Hero, simply because Hayley Williams was the first (and only) actual female artist to make an appearance in the Guitar Hero series. So I'd say we have that in common, at least a little. But not just that. If I had all the money I wanted to have a decade or so ago, I too would have bought a real, customised Treagan guitar from my favourite band of all time. I.. wouldn't play it, I'd stick it to the wall and gawk at it for the rest of my days.. but yeah.. Get those guitars, man! :D
I didn't know Jeremy tuned his bass down to B. That explains why I felt the bass on the first album sounded so low even though the guitars are tuned to standard, while I was trying to do a bass cover for one of the songs there.
Y'know, at first I liked Foafy, then I kinda forgot about the channel...then I discovered Paramore, my favorite band, then I came back to this channel and like-...woahhhh
dude i'd LOOOOVE to see the MIM Classic Series Telecasters and the 22 fret American Deluxe J Bass from the mid 00s you've got in your collection (and other paramore inspired gear in your collection!) Some day i'd love to get warmoth parts to replicate the custom Goldtop Tele Deluxe with a mahogany neck like the one from the Brand New Eyes era EDIT: 7:10 there they are! that's what happens when you comment without watching all the way through 😅
@@Gliese710_ yeah, that's why it's a pipeline dream/project. the time and specially the money has to be available. taking in account a guitar like that would be ten times it's price if I were to order it from fender, it's still quite accesible
I know nothing about instruments but I do enjoy paramore, I really liked their most recent album in particular, their best album yet IMO but it is also hard to argue with the early emo stuff. Great video, very interesting story.
I am currently getting into playing bass. I am practicing for about 1 1/2 months now and I love Paramore! It is so cool that you have this bass in your collection! How much do you want for it >:(

thats a bass bro. awe shit i stepped right into a pile of rage bait.
Foafy explained in another comment that he was aware of this, but called it a guitar for a more general understanding (no trying to start a fight

quick note, the precision part is actually because of the pickup, not because it has frets

Decode is literally in my Spotify playlist. I have no idea they made it.
I saw the Tiktok about this so glad you made a video about it!
There's a video where Jeremy talks about his Jazz bass. He had it custom built by Fender.
Such a sick score. I have a signed mic from MeetMe@TheAltar, all the band signed it. That's about the extent of my special music memorabilia
