I've been following your videos since your first ones, always thought they were totally underrated, looks like your community it's finally growing, very glad to see all your energy is finally getting some love
Great video! I bought two AVI M422a jackets last year. The first one was a little too small so I had to size up and order another one. I kept them both. I have mixed feelings about the jacket though. On the positive side, the jacket is incredibly accurate to the original. It looks and wears like an original WW2 flight jacket. So that is fantastic because the Gordan & Ferguson M422a is my favorite jacket. On the negative side, is how they ship their jackets. They fold them up and stuff them in a small bag. My jacket arrived covered in wrinkles! Almost a year later some of them have still not come out and probably never will. Overall for the money though, I think their jacket are well worth the price and I would recommend this company. Just make sure you size up.
I bought a size 46, A1 horse hide: The leather was nice . Stitching was fine. The fit was uncomfortable, it has low armholes and high boxy shoulders. Sleeves are too short to be a size 46. The panel is cut for a shorter, heavier type of body, not for a 6"2 athlete type of body.
Loving the channel. Always enjoy a voice for quality and craftmanship in the fast fashion world of today. I find with leather jackets you will never get a good product for cheap, unless you get lucky in a thrift store. For investment level pieces i love eastman leather. They do authentic reproductions of military and biker styles in the 1500$ range. Expensive but great quality veg tanned leather that ages really well and they are made in UK. I got their horsehide perfecto a few years ago and it feels almost like a suit of armor.
Do you still have that d pocket? I would love to know how it looks zipped half way as well as fully. Especially as a full fit. From few photos i see online it seems like it is unusually long and that the D pocket is low but i cant say is it always camera angle or it is a matter of pattern. Haha yeah im Bruno as well and im looking for simple D pocket
I have an AVI A2 in horsehide. It was one of the first pieces I bought when I got in the heritage game. Looking back, now that I’ve bought ten or so other jackets from other manufacturers, I’d tell ‘past me’ to spend some more on another brand. It’s ok for someone on a medium budget but then again, 350 euro isn’t exactly budget, either. It’s held up good so far, except for the knits which are rather average quality and very prone to pilling, even with careful wear. Also size up. I’m a true size 38 but the AVI is tight at the chest, so much so that I wear it open mostly, and I’m a guy with a slight build. But next time, I don’t know, I’m gonna look elsewhere.
@@Fjorde ideally something I can try before buying. So probably a Japanese brand the next time I visit the country. It’s a pity because I would love to also try on an Aero or Eastman. Ahyway, thanks for these videos, I’m sure I’m not the only one in thinking they’re helpful when we’re making our purchases.
Appreciate your comment, do you mind sharing your height and weight for reference? I’m currently looking at an avi a2 they suggested a 40 but regularly Im a 36 short at 5’6” 130lbs.
Do they run small?…. I usually get a small regular from Sportys…… however, does this is this the same size? I really want to get one of these but if you can tell me if the sleeves are American or Chinese
Hello Fjorde, after i watched your video i fell in love with the m422a jacket. orderd one by avi leather and after twelve days i got my jacket. i´m 175cm by 73kg and decided a size 40 who´s fit verry well. greetings from bavaria
Hi, loving the videos (and thanks to them I’ve recently bought my first high end leather jacket; a Double Helix works hugging the curve which I’m loving!). I recently got into selvedge denim and as I was dipping my toe in the water I bought some Brave star denim as the price was amazing for selvedge jeans. They might not be iron heart but would be interested in your opinion of them as an intro brand for newbies?
Great jacket choice, they are one of my favourites. Brave Star is amazing. In terms of fading, they placed very well in the 2023 Indigo Invitational (see some photos here bravestarselvage.com/) Another great entry level brand is Naked and Famous. 👊👊👊
@@ПавелЖеков-ф6бI can't really answer your question but if you get in touch with AVI I'm pretty sure they'll have you measure your dimensions and figure out what size jacket you need based on those. I'm sure they can set you up with the right jacket size.
Dude, you are amazing! I saw the thumbnail and instantly jumped in to watch, to my surprise i heard my name !!!! (Yes I’m Bruno from your igram followers) Thank you for the video!
Hi, hides used by AVI m422a are not even close to genuine WW2 USN contract m422a jackets, wrong color and texture/grain on their hides. Anyway, a nice budget reproduction of m422a.
I just recently bought the half belt after watching your review .. and my jacket smells of cheap plastic .. like Chinese fake leather goods, I am sure outer shell is made out of very thing layer of leather like .8 mm and inside is some sort of layer .. very disappointed.. I pulled my trigger thinking most of designer leather jackets are made in India and they all are of high quality and since Pakistan is of same region.. somehow fooled me, do nothing but holding a trash
AVI leather is a great entry level brand.......but are made in Pakistan. I chucked mine at the local thrift store after i found that out and got a Eastman G1 since its made in a fair wage country

This is exactly what I was waiting for. Thanks a lot for this review brother and support from Italy!

I couldn’t find the location on their website, do you know which country handles Avi’s manufacturing duties? Thanks for the review!
Pakistan

how so? genuinely interested on the quality of the jacket and mouton collar
Overpriced.

Just because something is made in a country doesn't mean it's going to be low quality or made by slaves, you know?
