    With all due respect of Disk (great dj and pioneer), you don’t have to be a genius to think about a turntable with a fader in it… I guess every dj has dream about it in the 80s/90s. Another thing is to have a tech company willing to fund the “
    idea”

      No Flesh One and I (Focus) made a Tone Fader with audio input...It used a Focus Fader v1.0. It was going to be distributed by ITF, this was back in 2002ish...The scratch scene got stagnant when it came to mods and designs while I was away ;-). 2012ish things started back up, in the early days we were addicted to scratching and were brainstorming hard to come up wth new designs...Only a few of us had the technical know how, parts weren't as easily available as they are now either...Flesh One also made the first Midi Fader Kit. Any talk of history needs to go back further the 2010s haha :-). I was taking faders from tvs in the 80s and bloting them down to my table on the right side, making it external. That was to protect the fader in my Pyramind PR6700Ech Mixer. As time goes on it is lookig like most old school heads weren't as active as me when it came to actually building and modifying mixers.

    I mean even if it was truly his "idea" the way he talks about it don't sound like he's too too salty about it but maybe more like he just didn't take action on his idea so at that point you kinda forfeit the process. .A Ton of us creators know exactly how that feels. I'm sure there were others who are claiming the same that they had that same idea ...in the world of idea making that's just how it goes, the person willing to do the R&D on a product make it happen. I feel like if it was really something he wanted he probably should have taught himself how to do the work and create things on his own because at the end of the day, you can only really trust yourself. I mean I had to learn basic electrical concepts just to be able to mess with my turntables and to fix them I never send my stuff out. But to each their own. Also, I disagree with him on the live performances & would say going live with a portable especially with an awesome background behind you looks and feels amazing,... I liked dudes comparison to skateboarding ..I never skated but did surf and it's one of the most liberating activities you can do. Being able to just kick it by the bay and stream to your fans is beyond dreams. On another comment he made ... maybe homie hasn't considered that not everyone has the money to customize or buy a 1200 and even more so even know if they will want to do this in the future so they don't wanna spend the big bucks just to have stuff sitting around much less starting small to get the basic hand controls down then build up to a full set up is always a sure fire way to go as a reward to yourself for achievements... ...but overall I'm glad he supports the movement tho but I can personally say as a modded PT-O1 scratch owner, the portable scene is growing & Id like to see more folks do live sets at wild locations and elevate the scratch DJ's normal club or house scene more into nature.. But ultimately competition breeds innovation so hope dude can link with a manufacturer bless the hip-hop community with another product around the $150 dollar range. Right now I know the PT-01 and one more are the only that can cut 12 in records most are limited to 45s so that's a big thing to consider going forwards. It's so odd how peeps miss the simple point in your lectures. This wasn't about whether or not Vestax would've gone into business with Disk, it's about a lack of respect for creators. So I'm glad peeps like you and Disk can set the record straight.
    I believe him. I also remember them putting up a post on whatever the ISP forum was called asking for features people would like to see on it. So many different people's contributions are uncredited.
    Similarly DJ Focus created the contactless fader and is seldomly given credit.

      Thanks for the mentions, It's like making a documentary on the electric guitar but never mentioning the original inventor and just skipping over to the popular guitars used for hit songs haha....I have to remind peeps, the first contactless didn't have to be super smooth or super sharp...It was that why from the beginning because I did it that way, in the early days not everyone was a fan of the smoothness. It eventually became the norm we have now. It was also 60 dollars retail cause I was always for the children :-). Broke mofos like myself that still wanted to be part of the culture and scratch for ever ever...I dropped the 7inch records in 1999 and 2000...Disk is on #2 and I find this interview kind strange when they talk about the small records...Called Precision Incisions for a reason and it was a system to be used with the precision incisions 12inch which I released...In the late 90s early 2000s while everyone was trying to come up with abstract titles like galactic butt hairs and boogerz, saying Hella and LA all day...I was doing some serious innovation for the culture. Eveyr mixer out now has some type of nfluence from my past work, wether knob placemen,custome knob texture to post fader outputs to headphone mute..on and on...Lots of small things that goes over peeps heads...Still got low key haters throwing shade but there is balance in the universe so peeps are starting to see the light...

    People have ideas all the time but if you didn't act and someone else did they didn't steal a damn thing from you. You can still go make yours. The demand is there for the product. Imagine if only one person was making cars in the world or apple was the only computer of choice? Being jealous of a friend for being successful is not a good way to live.

    @djdisk This is probably true!
    But Vestax would not have manufactured a Qfo for you...the reason is simple, you are not Qbert! You don't have the same media recognition in the scratch scene that Qbert has...
    I also have ideas for a mixer, but that does not mean that Pioneer, Rane or Denon Dj, is going to carry them out, on the other hand if the "Ideas" are presented by Dj Craze, A-track, Qbert ... it is much more likely that they will come true.
    I am clear that you have been a musical and technical influence for Qbert, because things that I have seen you do, when nobody sounded such a beast, like you ... and with the passage of time I have seen Qbert do it the same!

The Stylists ..ppl who take the reformists work and make it more palatable to the masses as their own "style" ...they generally get paid the most....then 3. The Classicists ...the ppl who just copy the past be it educational in a school setting, cover bands...basically when a style be comes classical music ......most Juggle patterns are are at this stage..I havent seen a new pattern since like Kentaro in 2001....so Steve D would be the Reformist....as he never made any real paper from the game.....then dj Premier or even the Xmen could be the stylists who made a bunch of paper from tablism....then the classical ppl would be like KSwizz and and the new school kids who can perfectly execute what ppl in the past were doing

    How many times have I heard DJ Disk say that people stole his ideas. I have great respect for DJ DISK but really? Even if in normal life an idea is the simplest thing it can be, everyone can have 100 ideas. But making this idea become a reality is an art and you can see that DJ DISK has always lacked balls, he always played in his safe comfort zone, and when someone does something, he complains and accuses others of trying and doing it.

    • @TTMAcademy

      ..its good to hear both sides tho ..like for instance Atrak told Kanye that he invented my TTM system ...just that one lie has a big effect....so Qbert having more fame or anyone for that matter having more fame can lead to the truth being skewed or even fabricated....so this new 365 day TTM calendar project that I'm doing on instagram will also be like wikipedia for skratch techniques where ppl like Disk could dispute the inventor of a skratch with proof of the recording and proof of its release date.
