When I was a kid my neighbor was telling me he heard about this Assassin’s Creed game, where you can basically climb up on anything that sticks out 2 inches. I remember that blew my mind that a game gave you that much freedom to move around.

I thought the second biggest new concepts in WD legion was drones? Not just attack drones, but package drone, police drone, news drone, construction drone and combat drone.

The same traits get repeated over and over. No characters really give you that much of an "edge," because all of the areas are designed to be doable with basic hacks. Not to mention, the coolest traits involve being able to walk into compounds because of your uniform, but even that falls on its face because you can still get detected by enemies, which makes exactly 0 sense. Who sees someone at work that they see every single day and goes "that's suspicious. I'll attack them."

Lots of unique concepts from indie games recently: - The planning phase, weapon economy system and randomized PVP map layout in Due Process - The procedural cave generation and Mobile Refinery mission type from Deep Rock Galactic - Spacecraft dissection puzzles of Hardspace: Ship Breaker - The depth and perspective puzzles of Superliminal just to name a few.
I still need to get/play Superliminal because I've avoided Let's Plays based on how cool it looks/the puzzles look. (Much like with "The Witness.") Since a plotted game I'm usually 75% okay with knowing the entire story but a puzzle game I know the answers to isn't any fun.

And you, the player are free to recruit any among them that stand out to you to build your own army/resistance. Everybody’s essentially just a less powerful captain.
You make a good point, but I don't think you can actually play as the orcs once you recruit them... Legion actually makes them playable instead of just an army of AI

Even assassin‘s creed odyssey had it so that you could recruit enemies to be on your ship for different bonuses. Although to be honest I don’t think any of them are going to be as complex as it was in shadow of war considering that game was specifically designed around the mechanic

MFS 2020 Concept has been done before and not at all unique, There's MFS 1995, 98, X and all of that stuff, It's basically the same but updated with better Graphics.
Sword of Etheria for the ps2 comes to mind. Pulling off DMC like combos with multiple characters, treating bad guys as volleyballs basically, the bigger the combo the better the damage
slashers keep has a mechanic called sack smack which both explains how you hold all your loot and lets you knock enemies back with it and there is even an upgrade for it that makes it do more damage the more stuff you have stored in your sack.

I know I'm way late on this (only just recently found Gameranx) but as an old-school music gamer, I gotta mention Rhythm Doctor. It's a 1-button rhythm game, and you think it'd be simple, but it's not. You have to hit the button on the 7th beat of a rhythm, and some of those rhythms are... odd. Oh, and you may have to pay attention to multiple rhythms AT THE SAME TIME. It's frantic and wild at times and amazingly hard yet engaging.
I remember sometime ago, when I had an ipod touch 4, there was a game in the appstore where you were a levitating jellyfish-like monster escaping a lab, pretty similar to Carrion, it was sidescrolling too, and all that stuff, it was a really neat game but can't remember the name.

The Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor/War is still amazing and provides ton of replayability.

slashers keep has a mechanic called sack smack which both explains how you hold all your loot and lets you knock enemies back with it and there is even an upgrade for it that makes it do more damage the more stuff you have stored in your sack.
Phasmophobia should of been on that list. Super fun concept and fun game to play with friends

I know I'm way late on this (only just recently found Gameranx) but as an old-school music gamer, I gotta mention Rhythm Doctor. It's a 1-button rhythm game, and you think it'd be simple, but it's not. You have to hit the button on the 7th beat of a rhythm, and some of those rhythms are... odd. Oh, and you may have to pay attention to multiple rhythms AT THE SAME TIME. It's frantic and wild at times and amazingly hard yet engaging.
Nobody is taking Bugsnax seriously enough, including me until I played it. Its actually awesome!
I remember sometime ago, when I had an ipod touch 4, there was a game in the appstore where you were a levitating jellyfish-like monster escaping a lab, pretty similar to Carrion, it was sidescrolling too, and all that stuff, it was a really neat game but can't remember the name.
I forgot about ghost. They should make another doom but with the marine like doom 3 . Make it scary especially with those creepy demonic babys
