Omg I’m buying the pink splash syngonium for the equivalent of £8 in Mexico and I thought it was expensive. You can find a lot of rare plants in Mexico for less.
Right?? I recently saw some syngonium albo about the equivalent of $6 US dollars and monstera deliciosa albo from 20$ to 200$ (also dollars) And I don’t have any of those 😅 But I’m working on it, I do have a PWP that some lady was selling on the street at 1$ (again, in dollars)
I bought my dragon scale for $150 in the US on my birthday last year in July 😩 a local shop had them for $17 a few weeks ago. One of those investments that did NOT pay off
I love my Billietae, it is definitely tough, I have it on the ground by the tv and my cat loves to jump around it full speed to run behind the tv. Plus I'm a beginner and it's done well.
Ahhh look at that hair!!! You are GLOWING! Radiating beauty and confidence. Loveeee this confident you!!! Your essence itself is stunning- watching you grow over the last year is amazing!
Yes! So glad M. siltepecana is getting the love it deserves! They are, in my mind, the prettiest monstera going - They just don't get enough attention. Easy to grow too... definitely worth it for those starting out!
Siltepecana is SO easy to grow. I bought a cutting for far too much money and in 18 months I have two FULL plants (UK climate!) It's one of my absolute faves.
I just found an anthurium vetchii on Etsy from a US seller for $57. It’s in the mail as we speak, so I can’t speak to the size. But any size vetchii for $57 is a steal IMO
From Wellsprings? They're great. They sell the occasional plug of some really cool plants. I got a alocasia zebrina reticulata plug for $50 last year. It's already growing pups of its own.
Dang haven’t watched the video yet but you look amazing!!! Love your tshirt hair ups looks but dang!!! You go live your best life! Now to watch the video lol
Kaylee telling: Philo billietiae is cheap. Then, you, a mortal plant lover fall in love with the variegated billietiae and check the price: 10-12 x the price of the green one, only a single leaf cutting D;
Syngonium pink splash is around 4.93 pounds 🙊 and dragon scale around 7-10 pounds and aglaonema pictum for 4 £ in India n I thought it was still costly😀
I was just curious if you could get the monstera siltipicana (maybe I spelled that wrong 😅) in The Netherlands, and YES! We have something here that is called marktplaats. Translated as marketplace where people can sell all kind of things. Plants are one of them! Lot of little baby’s of this beautiful plant 😍 so maybe not at shops but definitely at “martplaats”.
More AGLAONEMAS!!! I have 7 now, and they soooo easy to grow. And those colours. Red, pink, silver, white, cream, spots, splashes. One U have (Pictum) is one of hardest to grow, but others are very very easy to maintain.
1. That look really suits you! 2. Thank you for mentioning actual figures! I love your videos, but those "lower to middle treble digits" drove me nuts, especially because descriptors such as "low" or "high" are pretty arbitrary. My brain had to convert from Kaylee speech to actual figures and then from GBP/EUR/USD to MXN on the fly. It's so much easier to only convert the currency in my head! Anyway, hope you're doing great and thanks for the awesome content!
I just bought a 5 leaf established plant with one baby on the way of the Florida ghost for $150, and a melanochrysum single leaf cutting for $60 🥲 I nearly cried when I picked them up bc they were the lowest prices I could find but in amazing shape. Also got a silver pastazanum w/ 2 leaves for $60 ALSO you look rad as hell with this look. So chic.
Siltepecana used to be rare and hard to find in the US and then it blew up. People stopped caring about it. I’m also shocked that the cream splash is considered rare now because a couple years ago it was on par with Brazil and I was shocked to see the cost of them recently.
@@velvetleaves6442 Same here. Fun fact is, that if there was any (plant) at the shop (and it was in my country) they would be legally obligated to sell it for $19.99 even on April 1st.
P. melanochrysum is really fun to grow in my opinion and after getting used to it, it seems to be ok with dappled direct sun (in Central Europe). My small one pushes out 1 leaf ever 2-4 weeks. If you like velvety/suede like plants, I got a raphidaphora korthalsii that's a rather nice shingling plant. Recently cut it back and the cutting rooted rather fast and easy too. Really sensitive to overwatering though. It was like 30ish €?
Do you think the cream splash is a similar situation to the florida ghost mint? I ask because purchased two philodendron brazil plants and one of them was sitting directly in a window and turned the cream color while the other stayed lime/yellow. Did I perhaps accidentally get a cream splash instead of two brazils? Or is this one light dependent like the florida ghost?
Weird, in Australia(possibly just in victoria) its way easier to find the silver dragon(starting at 50 aud) and when you find a decent dragonscale they start at 60-70.
Wow monstera siltipicana is everywhere in Australia. Like $12 for a decent vine in big box stores. Mind you 9 months again it was in the high doubles Love your hair love 💕
So glad I bought my siltepecana as a cutting for less than £15 about a year ago, it's the only monstera I've been able to grow successfully and I love it! It's looking like quite a full plant now
Siltepecana is absolutely underrated. I'm not really sure why bc they're gorgeous and everyone is obsessed with monstera. You totally just hyped it up tho! They'll be $100 per cutting in a month lol
I cannot wait for the melanochrysum to hit big box stores! It's been my number one wishlist plant for a while. Also, did you catch wind of thai constellations hitting a chain of big box stores in the US's pacific northwest? I'm not a fan of them but I thought it was interesting when I read about it on reddit.
Saw melanochrisum (or one that looked exactly the same) at a local pike's nurseries for $15. Again, might not have been the same plant as i didn't take a pic but yeh
I bought a Billietaie today for $7 CAD at Gardenworks Canada, I'm so excited I still feel like puking! The leaves are about 6-8 inches long, and I was just eyeing one at a local nursery with leaves twice the size priced at $80 CAD...maybe I feel like puking cuz deep down I feel they miss labeled the plant and I basically stole it.
Hi Kaylee! So, I came across a plant in one of the plant pages I follow. It was called a Philodendron pink princess marble. A commenter responded that, in Australia, they call it ‘pink desire’ and it’s one of the newest tissue cultures. The plant looked like a super splashy pink princess. Is this a real thing or is it just an exceptional looking pink princess?
Also from Australia here! I have noticed that in our stores we have been getting a few variants of erubescens, my most recent to add to my collection is philodendron erubescens bronze princess. Pink splashes with a sort of Polaroid effect of bronze/orange/ copper, however no one is talking about them and there is zero info online. I haven't seen a 'pink desire', but I am also intrigued and will keep an eye out in nurseries.
Kaylee you make me feel special -- the fact that I have two large baskets of Monstera Siltepecana made my day. I didn't know they were so rare. I do love them and didn't only get them for the "rare" factor. Love this video
Lol, I'm not here for your looks, but they are fine. I'm here for you KNOWLEDGE!!!! I'm soon going to get into more rare plants, and propogate and sell, just small time. Or so im thinking now!! But time is more important for me so ill keep it small. Another thing i love about u, u talk fast!! I do that to and ppl say slow down!! But hell im only american. I’m loving this hair
Omg me too, she looks like she just walked off of a beach - 🔆 beach goddess vibes going on 🔆
KAYLEE I LITERALLY CANNOT STOP STARING AT YOU???? This look >>>
I love the irony of anthurium forgetii being neglected and forgotten in the shop
Cheap only for the next 24 hours. 😂
So true! These plants r gonna get expensive after this video 😂😆
She has incredible influence on the market.
Hey Kaylee! Can you do a video on what plants do(n't) well in self watering pots?
you look like a beautiful mom who makes hummus for her children on the math team
😂😂😂 this is hilariously specific

@Arturo Carrillo Díaz de León wow very good information. Thank you I'm from Mexico but I don't live there

It happened to me too for other plants 😂
I think 99% of people are going to agree with you on keeping the pictum tricolor alive.
I always thought it was so easy! mine is just starting to grow it's fourth offshoot!
@@Orholam5 that’s awesome! I’ve seen a few very full ones but 99% are 4 leaves at best
Now I'm gonna rewatch this in 2023 just bc I'm curious how much the prices has grown or go down then hihi

Me watching the video in 2023... 💀👍
I GASPED your skin looks amazing and your hair is stunning with this texture!!! Hope you’re doing well!!
"it's so hot, it's 28 degrees"
*laughs in 43 degrees*
Oh snap... girl why have you been straightening your hair all this time.. welcome to the Curley girl club.👍🏼❤️🥰
There is not one curl in this woman’s head🤣 it’s wavy though
she was doing the waves herself. her hair is naturally straight. she'd look amazing with full on curls tho!

@Dexy Nash pink princess? 😅

I ordered one online about a month ago, I am not kidding when I tell you it has doubled in size and it's November 👀 this is SUCH a vigorous grower!!
Couldn't afford any of these plants, not even the 'cheap' ones.
Kaylee that high humidity look works for you girl !

I'm curious to know how the philodendron cream splash is different from the philodendron silver stripe?
Philo Melano is my dream plant. So excited to hear they’ll potentially start becoming more available soon.
This video should be called "10 kind of expensive tropical Aroids!"
I find the silver dragon is pretty easy going and it grows really well! The dragon scale is a bit fussier (or maybe mine just doesn’t like me) ☺️
Love the video, can you do one that is also genius specific like 10 rare but cheapish philodendron or something like that 🙂
Lucky You guys get Forgetii cheap. Forgetii costs $500 where I live in and I live in the tropics. Like what???
