Hey Kaylee I was wondering if you would do a video on transferring plants to Leca. I've tried with a lot of plants but they all rotted. I would love to know some more about it. Also I was watching your videos from 2 years ago from the rare plant index Playlist. I would loveeee some updates on those. I feel like you have most of the rare plants you were talking about back then. And I would love to see yours. You are a true inspiration to me. I started with one or two plants and thanks to all your videos I now have about 70. It's tiny compared to you but I couldn't have done it without you!
I imported a plowmanii from Thailand to California and as soon as I got it I watched your video about how to deal with imports and its been thriving since! :D
Love your content. I know you've talked about it in the past, but would still love to see a video on indoor grow light including: types, discussion on kelvin, lumens, and the light cycle you set on aroids. :)
Kaylee, the lupinum looked really scared of you when you went on your rant about it, I thought it would cry lol, micky mouse plant killed a leaf, but your reticulata is gorgeous though. 😁😁
I lost two 69686 from shipping. One a top cut, one a rooted cutting. Finally I purchased a full plant shipped in the pot with soil. It arrived perfect! I don’t think they like their roots messed with. Verrucosum is the same. Just a tip that may help. These are two of my favorite plants. 💚🌻✌🏻
OMG I'm so shocked! P. 69686 is one of by most amazing imports! I have yet to ship one locally, but when they arrived from Thailand they were basically perfect and picked up growing almost immediately, no leaf loss or discolouring even in the following weeks. I love them but the next order may prove me wrong of course! Thanks so much for the advice!
Strongly agree with the p. Lupinum. The one i got from you went back to a stick too. I got it to root and grow out again tho so that‘s great. Just took me 9 months or so😂😂😂
My plowmanii imported beautifully. One of my best ever somehow. I don’t think it lost one leaf! However every verrucosum lost everything. But they’re bouncing back nicely. My verru 2 has 4 growth points after dropping all its leaves.

I also have a xanthosoma that you have. It’s propagating in sphagnum moss. After I spray the bulb with water and hydro peroxide mix the bulb started growing roots and one leaf and it’s so freaking cute!!
Plus one on Lupinum …. Got two cuttings in months ago planted together on a pole, both lost leaves. They have started growing now - but they are sooooo slow growing … still only six leaves between them after four months.

I struggle with my lupinum too. But I see sellers being able to propagate them very fast. Their medium is a mix of old rice hull (close to being a compost) and soil. That's the usual medium that plants are being sold here in Asia and plants really do well, exposed outdoors to sun and rain. I repotted my lupinum to soilless aroid medium and the growth is very slow. 1 cutting died. The only time it started doing better was when I brought it indoors and under a grow light. I was treating it like other aroids outdoors but this seems to like staying a bit more moist.
Hi Kaylee, I just wanted to ask you something - even though I've got account with your online shop whenever I try to check some plants it showing me they're sold out..like all the time.. Why's that? Thanks
Philodendron lupinum is a nightmare. Once I tried removing the established plant from moss, all the leaves instantly turned brown and fell off, leaving the plant a bare stem. I'm still keeping it, but I'm not sure if it'll ever come back.
@kaylee ellen, its a shame some plants go into panic mode when shipped. Have you thought about a pop up shop or a meet and greet. That way people can collect their plants in person. I've opted for this option with some of my plants.
Not sure about imports, but the Pastazanum silver I bought (shipped to me in California from Alaska) hasn't lost any leaves since I got it 6 months ago. That said, it took a month or two for it to start growing new leaves, and now it's back to growing at a decent pace.

I’ve only imported from indonesia once and i find it so funny that I had almost the opposite problems as compared to most people and this list, and even the other half of the order i shared was fine LOL but my gloriousum rotted in shipping and my friends was perfect, my burle marx was alive and WELL, my atabapoense was rotted but bounced back immediately, a syngonium was mushy and reverted but is now alive and still reverting, and my 69686 loves life how weird are plants in boxes HA
Kaylee you are funny 😄
How about domestic shipping? Would it make a difference? Could you have some plants, that ship really badly international, only for domestic sale?
