Has even a stand up special . He smashed way past being a triple threat . His talent and contribution to TV and film alone deserves more recognition in the broader sense so if I was him id be pretty pissed if a white singer had the same amount of BLACK entertainment TV award as me ..
At the same time will smith smashed it in the 90s with his music and you'd say he was a way bigger artist than childish gambino will ever be and Donald recognises that and said it doesn't make sense ...

This was not shade toward Will Smith or Sam Smith if you follow Gambino. But a direct slight at BET because he falls into a more mainstream with his music that they typiaclly ignore black artist that arent their mold i.e falling into the same stereotype as the Grammys which they were suppose be the anti of in accepting all artist. Think when Lenny Kravitz said he is world renown but never beem nominted for a BET award. He didnt feel recognized by his people because he was seen a rock n roll artist in which we dodnt have many officially in that category. therefore, they just ignored him and other artist like him.
