This was filmed at Super-G Rc Drift Arena In Southern California. Its from round four of the super drift series and it was my first time ever competing in an rc drift competition. If your interested in seeing my setup I have a few about what Im running and why. I'm primarily a photographer and videographer but have always loved rc cars and wanted to show how fun they can be.

My first comp has my hands shaking for hours after. You can lay badass laps all day, moment they all watch you and stop, anxiety creeps up
The last time I raced was probably ten years ago and I brought back all the old memories of that stress haha. Thanks for watching!

Nervous is an understatement the way some of the guys can kill on the local track lol. I've been at this about four months, getting better, but still lose it the second I get close to anybody. Hopefully my local track will set up a rookie competition soon, takes a bit of the edge off knowing your competition is just as green as you are 😅😅
No joke until about 3 weeks ago I was the exact same way when I got close to people haha. Even just on a random night with no pressure. I’m just starting to be more confident but it legit has taken a while! You’ll get there soon! Thanks for watching! Have a good one🤙🏼

Thank you! Id definitely help you out. The comps are stressful for sure but most of the time its just a solid group of 5-20 banging doors on random week nights haha. We'll get you out there sometime. I actually almost stopped at Super-G on the way home from picking that rig up to get some parts haha. Its right off the 605 at the 10.

I know this is an old video!! but please come to Texas and do a series called "Tour de la drift TX"!! we have quite a small community and Junior B is home-tracked in SAN ANTONIO TX.. we can do a whole week of drifting We can start by the Bay Area Ultimate RC then GRC in College Station / DARC in Dallas, then THS near Austin / finally RCQH in SAN AN, meet Lou, and ask to get a tour of his shop!!!
I’m definitely down to make a trip out to Texas sometime, that would be awesome! I'm going to see how the budget works out and see if i can make it happen! I'll let you know!

These sharks are spitting electricity haha. I’d say at least 15 were probably sharks, maybe more even.
You got the 1200$ shark is that what you said? Only 6mo in to drifting and bought a shark? wow! I bought expensive parts for my rtr mst so now I was looking at the shark final s... wow it looks incredible,,,how ez or not is it to set up for someone kind of new to drifting?
I actually started with the Yokomo YD2Z RTR and about 3 months in I upgraded to the base Shark that cost $369. The final form actually came out two months after I built my shark so the final form wasnt even an option. Its still just the yd2z with a base shark kit:)
Its a little hard to setup up but I've made numerous videos about how to set them up as well as a full build video incase you want to see how it all goes together:) Tuning it to drive well is probably the hardest part as a newer drivier but learn on this car will help with any other car you might have down the road. Although these chassis seem like peak form for the hobby currently.
competition does strange things to the body especially if your new to it. Ive been playing sports, rcing rc cars and so on for years and i still get nervous

What motor was Jason running and what model esc? It sounds so good, and congrats with those runs for your first drift event!
He's got that special sauce haha! Its an Accuvance x Overdose 10.5t Motor thats making the noise. Its a special edition motor from a bit back I believe and he told me thats why its got that distinct sound. Its paired with Accuvances upper end ESC.

@@SeanLewisMedia rightio then yeah it sounds pretty good I couldn't tell which motor was yours in the tandems but one of them sounded really good I think it wad yours am I correct?
Mine does have a very distinct sound too. Im running a 13.5t Hobbywing D10 Drift Combo Motor and ESC that sounds pretty good. @@michellejeanneret74
What is the floor ? Painted concrete? What do you typically use for top coat product?
It’s imported Japanese P Tile. No coating on this track, just naturally polished from the cars running. It was just raw tile when they first installed a couple months ago👍🏼

What are the scale of the rc cars cause they look like 1/10,1/14, and 1/16
You are correct! They are all 1/10 scale in my videos and the rules for the US Drift champioship is 1/10. I have seen a couple 1/14th scale drift cars but they were conversions from old onroad cars that were just for fun builds.

also, he lapped you on the takeoff!! he won because you messed up your lead and he pulled 5 cars over in this lead.. i am learning the rule that proximity is a must in the chase

I've been doing it for 2 years and in the UK it's really not comp based like yeah we are doing like a 6 round every month so there will be a little bit on the RUclips channel but overall I wouldn't say that you did bad tbf
