      First 400 metres in 52 seconds during a 1500-metre race? Maybe a pacer when he is doing his pacing job extremely badly. But Jakob is smart enough to not run the first 400 metres during a 1500-metre race in 52 seconds.

      u on what bro? He is not in 1:43-1:44 800 m pace.

    • @JradsEdits
      @JradsEdits 4 года назад

      Given that he’s only 2 seconds from the 3:26 WR in the 1500 (his PR is 3:28), it’s not ridiculous to think he could come within 3-4 seconds of the 800m WR of 1:40.9. He hasn’t raced against any of the top 800m runners recently so he hasn’t been pushed to his limits

    • @jdevries5606
      @jdevries5606 4 года назад +2

      Jrad's Edits It is a difference distance. Jakob shows he can run laps in 53-55 second. That’s totally different from running easily a 50-51s lap. Hicham El Guerrouj his Pb on a 800m is just 1:47. Bernard Lagat also 1:46. Noah Ngeny was an exception with 1:44. Asbel Kiprob ran 1:43. It is not so likely Jakob is able to run 1:43. Also because he won’t try it really often since the 1500m and the 5k fit him better.

    • @JradsEdits
      @JradsEdits 4 года назад

      j de vries True but Hicham wasn’t running his best times until at least age 23-24. Jakob just barely turned 20 and has so much more potential for faster times in the near future. Plus Hicham barely ever ran the 800, so he definitely could have run faster if it was his focus. I’m just saying that Jakob is clearly capable of a few seconds faster if he was to run the 800m more often and with more competition. The fact that he won the race in 1:48 really says a lot about his competition
