First 400 metres in 52 seconds during a 1500-metre race? Maybe a pacer when he is doing his pacing job extremely badly. But Jakob is smart enough to not run the first 400 metres during a 1500-metre race in 52 seconds.
Given that he’s only 2 seconds from the 3:26 WR in the 1500 (his PR is 3:28), it’s not ridiculous to think he could come within 3-4 seconds of the 800m WR of 1:40.9. He hasn’t raced against any of the top 800m runners recently so he hasn’t been pushed to his limits
Jrad's Edits It is a difference distance. Jakob shows he can run laps in 53-55 second. That’s totally different from running easily a 50-51s lap. Hicham El Guerrouj his Pb on a 800m is just 1:47. Bernard Lagat also 1:46. Noah Ngeny was an exception with 1:44. Asbel Kiprob ran 1:43. It is not so likely Jakob is able to run 1:43. Also because he won’t try it really often since the 1500m and the 5k fit him better.
j de vries True but Hicham wasn’t running his best times until at least age 23-24. Jakob just barely turned 20 and has so much more potential for faster times in the near future. Plus Hicham barely ever ran the 800, so he definitely could have run faster if it was his focus. I’m just saying that Jakob is clearly capable of a few seconds faster if he was to run the 800m more often and with more competition. The fact that he won the race in 1:48 really says a lot about his competition

Yo that looks crazy
Such an elaborate, fair and composed interview in the end! Good job!
Awesome video! Thank you for putting it up!
What a surprise. Jakob Ingebrigtsen won.
I loved how he held his composure the last 200m, that was good
This was a jog for him he runs the 1500 and they sometimes go through 52 first 400

Nakebriju Pibaself a lot of people have run 52 for the first lap Sebastian co and others Yh Jacob does pace it well 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
@@philellul4476 Tell me one race where he runs the first 400m of 1500m in 52 seconds
@@frlipa Yh I no 54 55 what he normally does i read my own comment thinking what the fk I’ve never seen Jacob go of at 52 😂
this must be like a walk in the park for him
Finlay Hutchinson
More like a run on the track
He did this after a 1500 too
He basically jogged a 1:48 haha. We all know with more competition he would run 4-5 seconds faster
His PB is 1:46. Honestly I don’t see him run 1:43 yet.
u on what bro? He is not in 1:43-1:44 800 m pace.

Who wants to see Jakob verses Warholm at 600/800m
Warholm would win easily a 600m
Warlhom in the 600. He has 400m in 44.87
Ingebrigtsen in the 800m. Has a 800m in 1:46.44
Olympic 800m split of 1500m final , only a few seconds slower
And people say this dude could take brazier in a 1000m... GTHOH lmao
You realize he wasn’t going all out here right? He can prob run a 1:45 if he had tough competition
Emmett McGrath okay and Brazier jogs 1:43. Hes still getting smoked lol
Billy Minshall I’m just saying, this race doesn’t rly do him justice
@@bminshall2013 That's an exaggeration.
Stop speeding it up... nobody is more impressed

Runners will know how hard it is to get up to speed in the first 100m
Unbroken in real life!
Ear rings ??
What's the significance of that
does it matter lmao
1:48:72 very slow national title.
Norway isn’t a big country, not many runners there ....
You don’t necessarily have to run a really quick time to win; especially against such opponents
With a first lap of 55+ this is not a bad time. Wilson Kipketers world record was also with a last lap of 53seconds
@@jdevries5606 With a 48 opening lol.
About 80 meters short of the words record, not bad 🤔
Well he definitely wasn’t trying that hard
It was a 7.83 second differential from Jakob's time here to Rudisha's WR. That's not 80 metres, these men aren't sprinters.
The man almost beat Cheruiyot in two separate Diamond Leagues. This seemed way too easy
Well gotta give Ole Jakob Høsteland Solbu some creds as well, 17 years old. Been running for 16 months, he has a lot of potential!
