Great video ! You should precise that darning is not for everybody, and that it needs the advice of a teacher ;D

Thank you for your comment 🙏🏼 we really appreciate it . Yes , of course everyone should get more info before they use the darn , and it’s a personal decision whether they want to use it or not . In this video we are just teaching how to sew and darn . 👍🏻

Looks like a bodge to me. /the ribbons should be sewn to the inside of the shoe not the outside because it is ugly. They should also be sewn further back, The loops on te darn would catch on wooden boards on a stage or classroom. I doubt the ribbons would stay on for very long AND properly fitted shoes should not require an elastic. Sewing ribbons on and darning pointe shoes should be taught by the students teacher when they first learn to do a simple rise on pointe. There are much better ways to darn poite shoes properly in a safe mammer without all this nonsense.

Dear Anitra, in the ballet world each ballerina has a different way of sewing their point shoes, some ballerinas prefer to sew the ribbons further back and some others don’t. Some ballerinas prefer to make the darn and some others don’t. Most of these ballerinas become teachers in the future so they will be the one to teach to their students. If a teacher have a different way of teaching that doesn’t mean that for sure is wrong, IT’S JUST DIFFERENT. I’m a professional ballerina, working for many years and I never had any problems with my pointe shoes. Of course you can also use the pointe shoes without elastic, that’s a personal choice(in certain ballets you might not need an elastic or a ribbon). Of course there might be better ways, I’m not saying at any moment in this video that this way is the best way but only my way, which most of the people find it really helpful. We are always grateful to receive constructive feedback but this one doesn’t seem like one. Anyway, I wish you all the best and Happy New Year 🎆

Lorenna se você usar aquela “agulha” bem grossa pra fazer o buraco na box fica muito mais fácil! Experimente 😉☺️
