remember when I visited this beautiful city in 2013 😭😭😭😭 I loved it.... I wanna go again....navy pear, six flags, china town, the metra, everything is perfect...... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much!!! I used to walk this street many times while I was staying in Chicago. How I long to see this! I love Big John and Chicago.
thank you so much for sharing with us your videos and have the chance to visit such beautiful cities even if it were virtually!! To me, it's great to feel like I'm walking around those amazing places!!
Chicago is really an amazing city, its wide and clean streets, beautiful arquitecture, I really love it. I hope to have the chance to visit that city someday!
Julio Banda Iglesias Chicagoan here... Make sure to visit Hyde Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Ravenswood and Logan Square! Try to stay away from the south and west sides, as the city deeply ignores most of this part of Chicago so most neighborhoods here are essentially falling apart and have a lot of crime as a result of this. There are some exceptions like Hyde Park, some of Pilsen and Beverly. The John Hancock has a better view of the city than The Sears (Willis) Tower and the Adler planetarium area has the best view of the skyline and lake. Don’t forget to ride our elevated trains and water taxis! :)
SUGGESTION: Film videos during the week, it will give viewers a more accurate perspective on the type of people that populate the area that you’re documenting.
What does it say about me that I could get here in 20 minutes by riding the blue line, but I'd rather stay in my apartment and watch this while walking on a treadmill? Ah well, at least I can say I saved $4.50 =P
At 13:19 you can see the front of Tribune tower. There are pieces from historic buildings in the walls all around the building. The Pyramids, Buckingham Palace, the Berlin Wall, all kinds of interesting places. A few years ago we were down there for Christmas, I told the family to go on without me, I will catch up later, and spent an hour looking at the amazing pieces of history.
i have to say your very brave and confident walking around chicago on your own . but i guess its better when the city is quiet. i saw a couple of homeless people. they seem to be everywhere. is it true that somebody gets shot every day in chicago? how dangerous is it really to get shot in chicago at nightime as im thinking of maybe visiting in the future?
martin thornley I live close to Chicago myself, and yes it is true that people get shot, but it is kinda rare in the main part of the city. it only happens in the south side. don't wander Chicago at night, it may look pretty, but that's when the dangerous people usually come out.
martin thornley Chicagoan here.. He is not brave for walking around downtown! Hehe Downtown has a lot of surveillance even if it’s hard to tell in this video, especially at night. I used to work not too far away from here and sometimes would go shopping at The Water Tower (on the block around 16min) and during the evening, it’s normal to see cops standing on the corners as extra precaution. I’ve never felt unsafe. Most of the crime is on the west and south sides of Chicago or at city hall :)
Bruh, its downtown. The biggest concern is being run over by some asshole running deliveries (I used to be that asshole). Yeah, most crime does happen in the south but Chicago is a VERY populated city so its not uncommon to think that someone is getting shot every day. I'm from the west side and its not so bad. But yeah, tourists usually stick to the north and downtown since its what everyone sees as "Chicago".
He said Saturday morning and it was probably pretty early because normally Chicago would be full of people and cars. Ive been to ALL but 4-5 of the top 50 biggest cities in the USA and Chicago might have the worst traffic. LA, NYC, Boston, Dallas/Forth Worth area are pretty bad too. People watching might prefer the hustle and bustle but having walked through many cities I prefer in the middle of the night to drive/walk through them because you can explore without a hordes of people walking/bikes/scooters/runners/cars in every direction. It's also a lot cooler as well. You can park where you need to to explore (especially with a motorcycle, and free parking at that time), you can take pictures without getting ran over, its like having the city to yourself in a way. Well not really but its as to yourself as you can get it. Midnight-5 AM, maybe 6 during the week... weekends early say 5-7 AM, maybe 8. And PS NYC is my favorite city, Chicago/SF are 2 and 3. LV, Memphis/Nashville, San Antonio as well.
Dear Mamadou Chicagoan here... Most of the crime is on the South and west sides. The government doesn’t care about this part of Chicago...they underfund the schools here, neglect installing proper lighting and just all around ignore it. Most of the money goes to downtown or certain neighborhoods.

Ka Gala what neighborhoods do you recommend to live in Chicago in terms of cost of living/safety?

It is better on a quiet day. Traffic noise and crowds make a less pleasant video

As much as I love this video and your style of recording, I think I would have preferred it on a busy weekday, where its bustling.

Dude, it's the RATES, not the totals. Ever heard of neighborhoodscout's list (i.e., Top 100 Most Dangerous Cities in the U.S.)?

There are few people on the streets of Chicago. I thought so
Its morning, everyone's still asleep. We're nocturnal af here. Wait till the afternoon.
Where was everyone. City is crowded af
Almost no car and no people. Why? Working time?

Why people say Chicago is dangerous?
Pourquoi on dit cette ville est dangereuse?
Mostly because of Gang-related crimes which usually happens in southern and western part of Chicago.
Wind Walk Travel Videos why the government doing nothing?
