I share all the emotions of the fellow Rhoden fans. He was an incredible bodybuilder and from the sounds of it, an incredible man. I have a close friend who's a monstrous bodybuilder, and he struggles daily with his mental health, mainly due to his perception of himself not being big enough. I mention this because as fans, we cheer on the monster physiques to a degree, and perhaps have influence on what these great athletes do to achieve their superhuman bodies. I feel as though all of us need to encourage a family oriented lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle, where maybe and hopefully these men and women can prioritize what's most important -- family and health. Speaking for myself, I'd love to see the athletes happy and full of abundance, living long life's and enjoying giving and receiving love amongst their loved ones. Shawn and all others did for us what they didn't ever have to do -- and that's put themselves through extremes for our pleasure. Rest easy, Mr Rhoden. We all thank you.

I am so sad not only at his passing, but also at the number of bodybuilders who have died recently. I have followed bodybuilding for more than 50 years (I am 70) and I don't recall such a large number of prominent bodybuilders dying in one year. Sadly, our sport has become incredibly dangerous. The number of drugs being taken is probably unprecedented, though it is hard to say with certainty since this information is not publicly available. There needs to be a frank discussion among professional bodybuilders, coaches, doctors, and bodybuilding organizations about this situation.

I think there's something more going on than the drugs, more are dying now than they have in years, there were a few deaths in the 90s, but
it just seems like now there's much more frequent deaths. Unless people are taking more drugs than ever before, there has to be something else
