When we learned that James got Koffing for Christmas and Jessie got Ekans for her birthday made having to release their Arbok and Weezing that much more heartbreaking.

i stopped watching somewhere in 3rd gen (cant remember why, i loved the show).. it would have stung me a bit to see them using Tyranitar, knowing that one was responsible for them losing Arbok and Weezing :(

It was a funny episode the guy who tricked him into buying a Magikarp. Mentioned Weepinbell’s Sweet Scent. It evolved he released it then it met the other Victreebell.
Both evolved without the use of a Leaf Stone too wtf.

Does anyone think they will catch their own Pokémon this season? I hate the whole rental Pokémon thing.. it’s always cool to see how they bond with their own Pokémon.
I like the rental Pokemon thing they're doing, but I definitely think they should get 1 or 2 weaker Pokemon and use the rental to use stronger Pokemon.
Wobbufet is still theirs tho.
Yeah I mean I know they still have some of their own at the HQ but they aren’t ever used anymore.. I like how they usually each catch at least one Pokémon in each region.

Probably because meowth is a part of there crew
Meowth actually thinks “what does that mean for me?” or something similar when they’re told they have to learn their Pokemon at HQ. I personally think Meowth is actually the leader of the team (I think it was implied in Pokemon Chronicles or something?) so he couldn’t stay behind. Plus he can talk. If he wore a disguise he could pass for a child when other Pokemon couldn’t.

Personally, I feel like Jessie should get Hattena and James gets an Impidimp, both of which would evolve into a Hatterene and Grimmsnarl. The pokemon themselves are just perfect for the duo. That or swapping them.

My Galar expectations were:
Jessie would have Hatterene while James would have Grimmsnarl
that would’ve been incredible! those are two really great pokemon.

I love how Wobbufett became so iconic it has been the only one to have consistantly stuck around. It was sent to HQ in Best Wishes but it was so popular it was brought back.

Well they work as a duo. In the games if there is a side with 2 people or a duo then they have 3 pokemon each. Otherwise you got 12 vs 6.
I believe its trying to be canon to the games. Plus they are bad at catching pokemon. Every time was either friendship which is rare or anger issues or just being really lucky.

Kinda depressing when you think about all the Pokemon at HQ or given to Giovanni. Are they okay? Will we ever see them again? I truly hope so. Despite being villains, these two genuinely love their Pokemon so I can't help but worry. Everyone always goes on about how they wish Ash would bring back his Gen 1 or 2 Pokemon and here I am wishing Mime Jr. and Cacnea return.

Agreed their former team except Wobbuffet is at HQ including Mime Jr. Cacnea is with Gardenia. Giovanni has their Unova Team. Alola Team is with Bewear & Stuffal

It would be nice if James had atleast one pokemon like Jessie. Yes we can't imagine their team without Wobbuffet anymore and James didn't have pokemon like that, maybe Mime jr.. In my opinion Mime jr. should still be on their team.
Plus Journeys could have evolved Mime Jr. into a Galarian Mr.Mime.
Still looking forward to them having a Celesteela in their journeys. Its really an interesting pokemon for Team Rocket to have, much more if it is one they did not caught but decided to travel with them like Meowth. Even though they have not managed to catch the one in Alola, hope they can encounter again one on their own without twerp presence, or it may come to them as rental from Giovanni.

I understand that for plot reasons Jessie and James remain loyal to Team Rocket to serve as the antagonists, but at this point they've helped Ash and CO. more than hurt them if you think about it.
Every time they've captured Pikachu, or any of the MC's pokemon, their subsequent escape just translated into exp and EVs mechanically. Not to mention the times Jessie and James have actually be directly helpful (I don't remember if the movies are canon or not, but Pokemon 2000 they helped Ash summon Lugia), they've helped the MC team's pokemon grow through challenge and adversity as well as cooperation and support. And this has happened both in combat and in contests; as Jessie (and James in some instances) competed against the MC coordinator and pushed them to do better.
I would honestly love to see the moment where they wake u pand realize that they could just as easily side with Ash and be regular rivals who travel the regions trying to find and capture new pokemon and grow stronger through their own merits than remaining loyal to Team Rocket and just trying to catch this one pikachu/the rest of Ash and CO's teams.
I really hope that Mimikyu is with Jessie in the new season. Mimikyu and Wobbuffet are to her, what Pikachu is to Ash. Jame could do with a Pokemon that doesn't attack/hug him every time, and would love it if they could have more than 3 Pokemon each

Honestly, I want them to capture some pokémon in galar, like in other regions, James or Jessie could capture a Galarian Meowth, and the other member of the team could capture the Mopeko

between "given to giovanni" and "HQ" there is no difference, they are practically pokemon that have where the team rocket base

The difference is that the pokemon that are at the HQ are still theirs, just in the base, while the ones given to Giovanni were like gifts to him so it's not like they can take them back
I would expect them to get some pokemon for themselves at some point, but the way this season is built, they are trying different stuff and one never knows. I would like if they got some new pokemon of their own, but I think they are too commited to the Pelipper and pokeball machine gag, or maybe after this one episode that will air that is centered around them the joke will end and theyll get their own pokemon? IDK I just one of them to get Cramorant that keeps trying to eat Pikachu XD

Yeah. It joined Slowpoke and then Slowbro.
That big shell on every Slowbro's tail is actually a Shellder. According to Pokedex entries and the show, Slowpokes evolve when they are bitten by Shellder. If they bite the tail, they become Slowbros. If on the head, Slowkings. In games, despite what you can read in the Pokedex, you don't need any actual Shellder in order to evolve your Slowpoke.

When I was a kid watching pokemon, it was very funny to see team rocket always lose against Ash's team. But as I got older, watching the team rocket always fail, even though they kept trying and still failed, it was very upsetting to watch. Does being evil have to be someone who fails to be laughed at?
