The Police??? Nah. Not at all. I know every recording by the police, owned a big bootleg collection but this in no way anything close to a police sound. The drumsound is completely different, guitarsound completely different.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra are known occultists. In the video for their song, "So Good at Being in Trouble", the book at 0:07 is 'The Esoteric Orders and their Work' by Dion Fortune in it. She was a prolific occultist and practiced Cabala. I own several books by her. There are also pendulums and other occult paraphernalia in the video.
Actually, he's explained it in an interview, he has a friend who's into it and through the friend got his hands on a book which contained what soon after became the album cover of II, a picture of a naked woman "witch" with a sword, naturally some of the occult stuff ended up in the music video.
Fucking unreal how good this band is! The pocket is so tight, I love this rhythm section so much
word. i miss that drummer, fucking on point.

@@clapadamclap melon collie!... I know I'm 4 years late but that's hilarious.
Jesus these guys are extremely good. Only recently discovered them, I'm loving the studio versions, but the power in this live show is unreal!

Viva Syd Barrett!
Honestly, they need to release a live album. Or at least an album that has all their songs recorded without that lo-fi effect.
still waiting for a live album release
I like the lo-fi...
But yeah, a live album would be fantastic
Day morbillion of waiting for live
It'd be great if you could reupload in higher quality.
humans.. you will always want more and roem and more
alexjamess more*
and then Lucifier Sam after Boy Witch
Man, everyone should be rocking the fuck out to this, not standing still lol. I know when I see them in June, I'll definitely be rocking out.
I agree but I think it’s more of a hypnotizing performance, just beautiful stuff
the instrumentals in no need for a leader kinda sounds like van halen meets syd barret
and sabbath
The Heights. We have genius.
HD PLZ
Their sound is between something excellent and The Police.

Drummer is a perfect match for UMO, too bad he couldn't stick around.
i really miss this drummer. the band doesn't groove in the pocket anymore =(
+Michael Costa Why was he ''replaced''?
His new drummer is badass now. He had a rough start but now he's fuckin' smooth

so if you fucking own books of it too, isn't it safe to assume you're implying you're an occultist as well?
