How to possibly get the alternative ending if they decide to add it: Scattered around the map are a flintlock, a saber, and a Pouch of Gunpowder and Metal balls, the problem being is that they are scattered in random locations. Once you have all 4 this cutscene plays out instead, with Barry holding his own before sliding down, he would then help you with defending against the zombies until the ship arrives, you receive a 1.5% Multiplier to your Franc’s along with the Achievement “Facing the Inevitable” if you successfully hold them off

the bomber came from the oppposite direction and im pretty sure Barry had no sabre nor pistol because he didnt have any weapons because he was captured then escaped with nothing but his gear but its nice to see barry survive
The whole animation was what I thought should have happened, except for barry having a gun and saber I thought he would have open the gate so we can climb up first and protect him, and then use the ropes to go firefighter style and escape with him. Also, the ship has cannons right? So why don’t they use them to blow up the fort to make it where the zombies can’t get through
this scene should play if there was only 1 player alive, but maybe make it so Barry just slips on the rope (because realistically he would burn his hands without any gloves or piece of cloth because of the friction) and breaks his legs, thus saving the effort of making an actual Barry AI to fight off zombies alongside the player.

g&b devs wanted to make an npc which does on purpose, so that a player can sacrifice themselves. it was mainly made to know if your team is a true team and there is teamwork.

The captain from the ship in Vardo canonically dies once the soldiers fleeing San Seb got onto his ship as a soldier turned whilst on the ship

Barry didnt have any weapons on himself when we met him so he couldnt defend himself and died.
