    Adam, I love your videos. You have a terrific way of explaining everything really well. But your dog's always steal the show! 😁

    I thought you were going to hit the garage door. In fact when the lock clicked, I thought it was happening!
    Nice!

    Bro, you've got them backwards! on front engine vehicals you should lift with piston pushing forward!

      Yeah the hydraulic should push towards the heaviest part of the car. I use mine on a 911, the engine is in the rear. So I would have mine set up like you do in this video. How much did you pick the set up for? It looks barely used!

    Great video and thank you for it! I'm in the same boat you are in as far as maintaining four vehicles for the family. My QJ 5000TLX is on the way so I'm pretty excited!

      @send$lawyers$guns&money I got my Quickjacks and used Teflon tape on my fittings instead of the crappy sealant they send and I didn't have any leaks 👍

    • @bryans8193
      @bryans8193 Год назад +1

      @send$lawyers$guns&money Make sure when you apply the tape to your fittings you wrap it in the correct direction with about 3 rounds and don't have any over hang on the tip. You don't want any tape getting sucked into your pump and plugging it up.

    Thanks for the video, I' thinking about getting the 7000TL and then getting frame extenders. I have
    some smaller cars and large SUVs to work on.

    How about a 1 year review?
    I’d love to have one of these for my E250 work van with the extensions.
    I also have a lifted Jeep Cherokee.
    Being all about safety I would still use my heavy duty jack stands under any vehicle using this or any other type of similar lift.

    Just used mine to lift my 94 gmc extended cab with an 8' box. Lifted no problem and yes, it does shift a little that you need to be aware of due to the nature of it's design. BTW, here in Ontario it is illegal to have your hitch in the receiver if you're not towing. Mostly ignored by the police.

      Illegal to have the hitch in if not towing?? What’s the reason for that?

      @@adamj8293 No frigging idea. Some people float around blocking the licence plate. I run around with a bike rack in all summer and as long as I don't go on an electronic toll road, all is good unless I run into a cop having a bad day.

    I loved the dog's reaction!
    I am considering a set of these for a classic Vette, to work on. I'm a little dismayed it doesn't go up higher, though. I'm not sure how it would fit on a much smaller car.
    Did I miss or did you mention how much you paid? I'm curious what the used price is for these.

    Are the spring and damper rates or axle articulation different front to rear or is the truck not level?

    I bought the 7000TL when it first came out and I'd call it ok if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the vehicle drops to the ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity. I still have it in my shop, but the company worked very hard to make me regret my purchase and it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it.

    would help if you used it correctly. the side of the quickjack with the label goes towards your engine.

    • @adamj8293
      @adamj8293  7 месяцев назад

      1. Nope. Look closer at that label at the user manual.
      2. It’s a basic scissor lift. It doesn’t care which way it’s positioned. Set it up so you can drive over it without having to disconnect and reconnect lines.

      quickjacks recommends putting the label facing the heavy part of the car.

      That's funny. I see they've updated the online user manual now too, showing what you said. In the video he said you can use them either direction, but recommends sticker end forward. That didn't used to be there, and the sticker shows them the other way around, unless the sticker is showing a rear engine car which is almost non-existent! In any case, they definitely work both ways on everything small light cars to my F150. That I can assure you. Take care!

    The jacks should be the other way around.

    • @adamj8293
      @adamj8293  8 месяцев назад +1

      No, not really. The jacks don’t care which way they’re positioned, but it makes the most sense to place the pump and hydraulic lines to the front of the vehicle so you can pull in over the top of everything hooked up. It’s also how they’re shown on the sticker and in the manual.
