  • The Redemption ending from Life Is Strange 2, the alternative finale to the Parting Ways ending, that unlocks if you surrender with high morality. For some reason, it makes me sadder than the Lone Wolf ending.

@Autumn Washington less meaningful ending since sean makes a contrasting decision and daniel gets home prisoned or something and followed by authorities. While in this ending, everything is perfect. Someone has to go to prison for people that died or the crimes committed and daniel is free and sean's sacrifice and the ending complete everything. Daniel is free and sean sacrificed his life voluntarily for his brother

I have a little brother who is almost 13 years younger than me. I’m an adult, and he is still a little kid. He annoys the living shit out of me, but I would do anything for him in order to keep him safe.
He is even more important to me than my parents and my fiance.
In conclusion, I’d do the same for him that Sean does for Daniel, no doubt. This game hits different

Everyone's talking about Sean breaking down in the forest, but what completely finishes me off is Daniel crying in his car. It's almost like he's blaming himself for everything that's happened to Sean, but can't do anything about it anymore. Imagine, after all the trauma you had to witness, you're given a chance to go back and have a "decent" childhood/teenagehood and a "normal" life (normal is very subjective, hence the quotations), but in the back of your mind, throughout all those years, you're aware that it's all because your brother gave up his years for yours. Would Daniel even be able to comprehend what kind of sacrifice this is? Damn...

    • @marshmellow_melmel

he's 25 in this, so after he became an adult, he probably did realize sean's sacrifice. that's probably why he cried in his car because of that guilt he feels. he blamed himself for sean losing an eye, so he probably blames himself for sean losing his twenties as well.

Of course. Crossing border was always more about Sean's dreams and hopes, than Daniel's. To be more harsh: it was selfish as f*ck. But what is beautiful about this game, is the fact that it's entirely up to you which side you'll choose. Of course I chose Daniel's. It hurts like hell, to say goodbye to your youth together like that. It will never be like it used to be... But eventhough Daniel and Sean feel sadness, they are actually wonderful, rich human beings. Rich of their happy memories when they were young wolves and the love they could feel for eachother. Thinking about the wonderful times, those unforgettable moments, whenever they want to escape for a little while in their new lifes. It hurts, but that shows the happiness they had. Their wounds will heal...living a new life, apart, knowing the other thinks of them, with much happy, loving memories. Not looking back with regret, but with love ~

I didn't want to stop for the cops , but at the same time I was terrified that busting through the border would either lead to daniel and/or sean being killed, or at the very least daniel ending up in a dangerous and immoral life. I surrendered for the same reason that I made every other choice in the game; to protect Daniel. Redemption still made me sad as hell, but at least I can rest easy knowing I did everything I could to keep daniel safe and though it wasnt all happy, everyone got to live their lives free and clear.

    This song......
I feel like the guitar represents Sean, and the piano represents Daniel.
In the beginning, the game is all about Sean and how he wants to get to Puerto Lobos, hence the guitar in the beginning of the song.
Towards the middle, when the piano is introduced to the song, it represents how the two brothers rely on each other for support.
In the end, when it's just the piano playing, it represents Daniel, how this ending, and overall journey, is made to have a better life for him.

The fact Sean goes to prison for 15 years when he hasn't even done anything wrong. But the damage it's done to Sean, just the severe depression and separation from his family is horrible. And I don't understand why they drove off in opposite ways either. Was Sean gone for good? ikr. The more I think about it, the more it kills me. This ending may see the brothers separated, but that meant Daniel got a free, moral life i.e what his father and sean wanted for him from the beginning. After gaining his freedom Sean was clearly devastated when reminiscing on time lost with daniel, but in the end he still got at least half his life free and clear; all the while knowing that while his bond with daniel wasnt the same, at least his brother was safe and on the right path despite all they went through.

On the one hand, he is happy Daniel grow up good and healthy but on another hand, hearing Daniel's life, made him feel broken and thinking to himself that 15 years of his life gone by just like that.
I hope Sean finds peace to where ever he is going.

The ending where Daniel gets sent to grandparents is bitter sweet. Sean gets punished harshly for a crime he is largely innocent of and the family gets separated. And they don't even stay together after Sean gets out of jail. I wanted the Dias brothers to be together forever. I do like that Daniel gets a puppy.

It's very sad and not fair, yes, I cried, but for me, they wouldn't kill lifes to cross the border, even if they deserve happiness and justice they are more than that. 2: Blood brothers. Sean and Daniel live in Mexico together. Maybe they might meet Cassidy and Finn again... maybe.
3: Sean goes to prison and loses half his life while Daniel has a normal one...
4: Lone wolf. Sean dies, no one except Daniel remembers him. And Daniel wastes his life as a criminal. He’ll never find love, not happiness. He’ll be a man with an incredible gift... a superpower. But he’ll have wasted it. Because he couldn’t cooperate with the way society works...

I wanted to like Sean and Daniel and in the end I really did. The things they display in the game I wasn’t 100% about happening in real life, but being that I’m half hispanic and from New York what do I know? There are definitely signs of racism behind every aspect of American life. Even as a hispanic looking mixed man, I have felt it, however I have never had it directly towards me and in a violent emotionally damaging manner. I have been lucky in that regard, however in other parts of the USA and the world I might not be so lucky.
What this game taught me is basically never put yourself in a situation where you can get blamed for defending yourself, whatever meanness is done to you take it, wear it like armor, and keep your freedom at all costs. The thing about racism is that you can’t fight it, it will always exist, prejudice will always exist. So instead treat others how you would like to be treated.

What people forget is this ending is YOUR choice meaning you sacrificed everything just for Daniel to have the best life and you choosing to surrender gives him that life. When I first played this I got the Parting Ways ending but I didn't like that ending because 1. Sean and Daniel were seperated and 2. Daniel is under house arrest because of YOUR actions. I get that Sean is a broken man when you choose to surrender but sometimes that's the price you have to pay when you want to give Daniel the happiest life he can have. Blood brothers is a good ending if we don't care about Sean and Dan's moralities, and the separation imo is the worst. In Redemption at least they can meet *whenever they want to* while in the separated ending, they will likely never see each other again considering Sean can never go back to the States even if he wants to.
In Redemption, Sean lives on the road and travels the country much like Brody does. Which gives him the freedom to visit his mom, Daniel, their grandparents, Lyla or other friends any time he wants. He's a free man now and not a fugitive. One could argue that he can't get a job but like. He's a damn good artist? Patreon and such exist. There's people who can sustain more than their monthly lives in decent enough apartments by posting their art on the internet, he can more than sustain his life on the road by doing the same, maybe even starting the superwolf comics, which to me is implied he did that. The cover of a superwolf comic is shown during the ending, with Sean's signature on it.
He's an artist. Not a mechanic. Him making a living through his art is honestly the best ending for him imo, and not living out his father's dreams out of sentimentality. Esteban would probably be happier knowing his son is a free man who gets to go wherever he wants and gets to make a living through his art, than knowing his son is a fugitive that can never enter the States anymore to visit his loved ones. Esteban might be from Puerto Lobos, but he went to the States for a reason. I don't think he wanted his kids to end up in Puerto Lobos permanently.
As I said, Blood Brothers is the lowest morality the brothers can get. Especially since they actually kill to get through the border (well, Daniel does, but you're the one that gives the greenlight.) Not to mention, Daniel doesn't look happy in the flashforward of that ending either, and Sean just looks like an ass.
Also, I def don't think Sean was jailed for the cop in the end. 15 years seem very little for "killing" a cop. Like he was told after they got caught at the border, he literally could've pleaded innocent for the cop because there were zero evidence to what happened anyways. What he was in hot shit for, was everything else he did afterwards, like working at an illegal pot farm, stealing a car, going as far as to assault Joey if you make that choice etc.
Sure, Sean has to still pay with 15 years of his life for bullshit, but after that he's clean and free to go, not to mention he doesn't force his little brother into it, nor does he corrupt Dan's morality in the process just for his own needs to stay together. Going to mexico doesn't fix their lives. It just cements it as it is. Two fugitive boys with nothing to their name, who now learned that they are willing to kill because their own needs are more important than others'. Far from home. Far from anyone they loved. No chance at even the semblance of a normal life anymore. Redemption let's Dan live a normal life in the end, and lets Sean relearn to live afterwards, as well as potentially let him live his own dreams rather than what he thinks is his father's dream.

It really, really sucks the time he spent on prison, but cmon, like I said, he is completely free now (and lets not act like he couldnt get visited by his family and friends during those years) it was a sacrifice to give his brother the best life possible, and Daniel was happy in the end (maybe feeling a little bit guilty, but happy overall, unlike in blood brothers where he clearly is not that happy)

This ending is seriously sad its true, but so are all the endings. Lone wolf is an amazing ending in terms of cinematics, emotion etc. but imo that would have made me even more depressed if I'd got that ending..... I mean come on, yeh Daniel's free and has his powers, but he's living with the fact he caused Sean's death after everything they went through and all Sean did to protect him; its clear from the final scenes of lone wolf that daniel is mentally destroyed and will never be the same. In Redemption they may have been separated and lost their bond (which is heartbreaking) but ultimately Daniel got to live a full free and moral life, what their father wanted for them. Sean was definitely screwed over, but he did it for his brother, and ultimately he too got free and clear + still had half his life to live knowing that his debts were paid and Daniel was safe. Imo as much as I love the the Blood Brothers ending, I still think this ending is what I'd want if the plot was real life... its exactly what I would have done for my bro.

    • @pcrassen4975
      @pcrassen4975 3 года назад +6

@@adammidderigh4150 I don't think they lost their bond. It's just a different bond. If you play your cards right you establish a bond that can in no way be destroyed by distanced. They are just simply adults now. Sean at 33 having to integrate back to society and find his purpose, Daniel at 24 having an already established life with friends and such.
This would happen even if the brothers grew up normal. No doubt they still meet often, it's just that their goals are not tied to surviving together anymore and they have different goals. The bonds is still there, it just evolved.

Daniel deserves to be able to live a normal life and this is the only one where that happens. Every other ending either has Daniel under house arrest or Daniel ending up as a criminal in mexico without and education. That's not a good life. Sean didn't kill the police officer but he did comment a few cries trying to flee the police like stealing that car. If Sean didn't run they could have actually convinced them that the polices death was an accident.
If Sean was going to run he should have left Daniel with his grandparents. I felt like trying to drag daniel along with him to mexico when he is the only one actually in danger of going to jail is really selfish.

I’m glad I didn’t choose this ending. Sean did not deserve to lose his 20s and early 30s for a crime he didn’t commit. Sean fought both physically and emotionally for the freedom both him and his brother rightfully deserved.
But this sadly meant both Sean and Daniel lost their youth, normally, once they had cross the border. Sure they are free but at what cost? Sean will never get to experience anything normal again such as high school graduation, falling in love (especially with Lyla or Cassidy), going to events with his friends, even getting a stable career after college including becoming a father. He got to keep his 20s ok but he’s going to spend his 20s and the rest of his life as a career criminal protecting himself and his brother.
And Daniel was 10 years old when they crossed the border. He doesn’t get a normal childhood again. Zero education. Does not even get to make any type of memories from middle school or high school. No first girlfriend. They also lost contact with their friends and family knowing if they even try that it’ll give them away to the law. And most likely will never be able to travel outside of Mexico or into the USA knowing him and Sean are still wanted men.
