Do the cameras from the linked files also get binded and show on the project browser?

Would you be able to do this with construction documents and everything come in properly dim, text, interior elevs, section views etc..

No. Revit is 50% 3D and 50% 2d Line work, symbols, and annotation. This works fine for 3D items and the annotation from the current view. These tricks do not pickup all the annotation from ALL related views.

Is it possible to merge levels? Thanks

I am not sure you can do this in Revit by itself. But there are plugins are add-ons to Revit that will merge or copy items from one level to another. Then you can delete the unneeded level. Check out kiwi tools.com

Select the Linked file and it should show up in the ribbon. If it does not, check your selection sets in the bottom right corner of your screen and make sure that the link option AND the pinned option DO NOT have a red X on them. These setting will prevent you from selecting a linked file.
