It's exceptional to see somebody with that much integrity an honesty to be upfront with your customer very rare you gained a lot of points in my book it's nice to know that you're out there helping people 😊 it's a pleasure to watch you work wish there was a way your camera would say still so he doesn't move around as much while you're working and explaining what you're doing 😁. Excellent job 💯.
Takes a lot to admit to a mistake, both on YT and to the customer. We get too comfortable sometimes with our environment and while we’re working on and forget the risk and that we’re working with five voltage. But good of you to admit it and do the right thing.
I’ve watched many of your videos after finding your channel today. I swear you are my long lost work brother. Your work ethic, your honesty, humbleness and the way you talk to yourself reminds me so much of myself. We are only human and we all make mistakes, it is how you own up to your mistakes and make them right is what sets you apart from other people. I would be honored to work for you and with you. It makes my day when I am able to go above and beyond for customers.
Loved u put this video out, things happen when your working, reminding us, and hopefully we don’t make that short, thanks for showing another way to check the cap too. New to channel, this one made me sub up, look forward to the videos.
For admitting your mistake you're a tech I'd want at my house. I do HVAC too in central Florida. One of the first times I rode along with a senior tech learning maintenance I shorted a blower trying to check the cap. So I can definitely relate to this. But the same I owned up and we replaced the motor. We had to use truck stock though because the OEM motor was on back order for a month lol. Gotta love this unforgiving trade. Especially on the service and maintenance side. Keep it up! Love your videos.
If you were in my neck of the woods you would definitely have my business. You admitted your mistake and made it right again, all that should be expected. I wouldn't trust most of the guys in my area to be so upfront and honest about their mistakes. I enjoy your videos, keep up the great work.
You’re not even considered an HVAC tech if you haven’t made a mistake or shorted something out. You fixed it, all is well. Shit happens bro. I fried a 1,000 dollar Bosch inverter board before while I was on the phone with tech support. 😂 Thanks for the video and sharing.
Can put some heat shrink on the leads shafts like the tiny back probes. You put sealed metal caps on the service ports? I would incase leaking sticking shrader Automotive side "Ever since you checked my tire pressure, you blew up my engine."
I don’t play with electricity man lmao. I had one of those sliding disconnects only kill one leg so I still had 120v but I didn’t check so when I went to discharge the cap I welded my needle nose closed lmao
Have you ever worked for a company for any long period of time? You have alot of bad habits sir. I watch your videos from time to time. You are knowledgeable still. You got us Brothas looking trash. Smh
@5822huron Ask them to forgive me. I was pulled out of the trash and now I'm just trying to make the best of the trash I have and came from. I hope one day I'll be someone's treasure.
Bro you blew the motor doing that! wtf! I’ve fucked up a few things in my day but not done shizz like that. Is your company pissed at you? You sound like HVAC Michael Jackson…shit happens make good on it at least
Why are you going through the trouble of a formula? That meter shows you the capacitance. This is the second video that shows your carelessness causing sparks. You may not be ready for Prime Time. BTW, just replace the start up cap you don't know how old it is its going to fail anyway its a high failure part you took the whole system out dicking around with it.
You go through the trouble of a formula because it gives you an accurate assessment of how the capacitor performs when it is under a load. When the system is actively running there is capacitive and inductive reactance in the circuit. Those don't exist when the system is off and the capacitor is removed. A bench test showing what a capacitor can do when it isn't functioning tells me nothing. BTW that is not a start up cap, it is a run capacitor that constantly bursts current through the start winding of the motor while it is running. Single run capacitors like the one on the blower do not fail anywhere near as frequently as dual run capacitors in condensers/heat pumps. Replacing parts for no reason is a hack move. He made a mistake in the video, that happens and is a part of life. Doesn't change the fact he was trying to do his job the right way. To the technician, grab a couple lead covers to prevent that sort of mistake from happening again in the future. Keep trying and keep learning, this trade is seriously struggling when it comes to good technicians rather than sales people disguised as technicians.
@@Thejaweee Thank you Dr Capacitor. in the time it took to read your long winded reply I could have replaced the cap. Replacing a very old start up cap that has a very high failure rate THAT'S SO OLD HES CHECKING IT is not a hack move your doing the customer a favor becasue its going to fail down the road and if it fails soon after hambone here is done he's going to get blamed for it especially after he told the customer he F'ed up to begin with it which is pretty stupid.

@rokashi2104 I didn't remember accounting for the lineset and I wanted to improve the performance.
@Legitheatingandair got it ! Great video btw
Yeah fluke makes leads that cover the majority of the leads so that's less likely to happen.
Rule 1: If the motor is a running, the capacitor is a good =p
